I hadn't received the text message about the door code - and Trip.com had stated check in until 8pm, whereas the sign on the door stated 6pm. Luckily, the door was answered - although it took time to confirm my booking - otherwise I may have been entirely stuck. My bedside lamp wasn't working, although this was immediately replaced by the very helpful gentleman on duty. Comfortable bed, separate shared toilet and separate shared shower. Price was £46 for one night: would have been happier paying around £35 given the facilities on offer.
Sand Bay Holiday Village - Adults Only

Sand Bay do 4 of these Mon-Fri dance breaks each year, For anyone who enjoys Ballroom/Latin/Sequence dancing, I could not rate these breaks highly enough. For the ridiculously inexpensive price of £178 for BOTH of us, this is what we got! ..... 4 nights accommodation in a basic, clean chalet with a sparkling white bathroom, bed made up, towels & soap provided. 4 evening meals & 4 breakfasts, all good, esp the puddings! Approx 20 min wait for hot food but this was perfectly acceptable as the park was completely full with 750 guests. Drink prices very reasonable. BRILLIANT dancing all evening plus a Cabaret act at 9.45pm. Some dancing was to piped music, some with either 4tune (least said the better!🤣) or Eclipse who were pretty good! Great to dance to live music! Special mention to the 3 girls who sang 2nd night - really good 40s 50s 60s songs plus a tribute to her late Majesty the Queen which was very moving. There was some line dancing - great fun & a little “disco” dancing in addition to the ballroom, latin & sequence, men & ladies all dressed up and there was a lovely atmosphere- people are so friendly at Pontins! During the day there are lessons - sequence & line dancing. These are taken by proper, professional dance reachers and they are very good. In the afternoon there is a tea dance but we skipped this as needed a rest before the evening dancing started at 6.45! All that for £178 plus drinks- amazing! Oh yes & they even moved the Bingo to the Queen Vic so we could have more dancing 💃🏼😀 I only wish they did Dance Weekends too so we did not have to use up so much holiday! Thank you Sand Bay - loved it!!!!

I booked this for a Christmas shopping trip for myself and my mum. On arrival we were greeted by Sarah who was super friendly and shows us to our room. Lovely room on the first floor with single beds. We had booked dinner at the hotel for 6pm. Sarah was very accommodating as I am vegetarian and had prepared a lovely meal, all home made with was delicious. Again desserts were amazing with a choice of lemon tart or pavlova. Couldn’t fault the dinner at all. We stayed for two nights, breakfast on both mornings was perfect, lovely and hot and not too much which we liked. The hotel was positioned perfectly for us as we visited both Wells and Clark’s Village. All in all nothing to moan about and would not hesitate in coming back. Thank you Sarah 😊

My husband and I visited for dinner last evening, and here is my take: My husband’s starter of salad with chicken and bacon was very good but my choice of Brixham crab cake ran into trouble; I got no taste of crab whatsoever and so I asked how much crab should be included in the recipe. The waitress assured me she would ask the chef and the answer was that as no delivery of crab had arrived that day, then my “crab cake” was actually a plain fish cake She removed the cost of this from my bill. I felt very sorry for her having to front a significant error made by the chef who had failed to communicate with her and allowed the menu to go out either through pressure or arrogance. Mains were pleasant but underwhelming; my husband’s pan fried cod on saffron mash was not very flavourful and my ballotine of chicken was just short of disappointing. Our shared pudding of lemon meringue pie on raspberry coulis was pretty good. The waitress was very charming and not at all defensive in this awkward situation regarding the “ no crab “ crab cake ; entirely the fault of the chef. We were not charged for the fish cake but when the bill arrived we were charged for both an extra glass of wine and a plate of mussels neither of which we had The poor waitress explained that someone had sat at our table earlier that day and their bill had unfortunately been added to ours. This was resolved and we added a 10% tip solely because we were impressed by and sorry for the delightful waitress. Sorry chef but even Wivey locals can spot a “no crab “crab cake

I stayed in Bath for two days. It was a lovely city and it felt better to travel in the off-season. We stayed at the Chestnut Villa Hotel, which has a lovely little garden close to Henrietta Park. The hotel is located in the heart of the city but also very peaceful. The hotel is well equipped and attentive. I originally planned to give this hotel a good evaluation, and the quality service made me more impressed. You will find that their service is particularly in place and pays attention to details. For example, the staff prepared a mellow cup of tea for me at breakfast, which won my heart. This is the tip of the iceberg of the hotel's excellent service, and there are too many such intimate services.

Wonderful stay at Brooks Guest House. My Fiancé and I booked via groupon and received a bottle of Prosecco and chocolates on arrival to our room. Our room was super cosy and comfortable. Can’t fault the staff, very friendly. Easy walk into the centre of Bath and parking at Charlotte Street Car Park just a short walk from the hotel. We will definitely be returning, thank you ☺️

This is a lovely Villa just on the outskirts of Bath that is well decorated and has 8 Free parking spaces. Our room was on the ground floor with a large tiled bathroom featuring a a wet room type shower . The bedroom was very clean with lots of storage , tea and coffee facilities, a fan if needed and an extremely comfy bed. The Cooked Breakfast option offered is extremely good with cereals ,yoghurts and small pastries also offered in the breakfast room . The Coffee is also excellent .Although this Villa has no overnight caretaker and you have to let yourself in with a keycode , when we had a minor problem the first night it was dealt with straight away. My only negative is where it is positioned and probably only applies if you are travelling alone and wish to walk into Bath . The Villa is on a hill and to get into the town you will have to cross the railway by steep old stone stairs leading to a tunnel and then the bridge (which thankfully is flat). Certainly not pleasant in the dark or if like me you struggle with stairs . We booked an accessible room because of this and were unaware that walking into town would be so difficult . I suggest if you have walking problems that you drive in and try and find a parking space .
