nnystIt was the most impressive accommodation to rest and live in this trip for me. The price is reasonable. Staff/ owner is very helpful and kind. She introduced me about her own place even I arrived hostel quite late. Her decoration and facility is superb. The kitchen has a lot of stuffs that traveler will be need. It feels like living at home but in the hostel. Location is good to locate near the tram. Also, common room, roof top, the bathroom are nice to rest. The private room (bedroom) is not too small - too big but it was very cozy to stay and manage your stuffs. I can do a little morning stretching in there. Love it! highly recommended for girls and other travellers 💗

It’s a good private house.
But I’m won’t recommend if weather is cold or raining, or if you’re traveling with young kids.
I travelled with my family with two toddlers.
The bath and onsen are outdoors, not quite well lit and not well covered.
The hot water water pressure is low, and the water is either very hot or very cold.
It was a cold, raining and windy that night.
It was a horrible experience for us because of the above, and the kids had a lot of trouble taking a bath. And we were worried they might catch a cold.
And strangely the door lock of the bath is locked from the outside and not from the inside.
Also remember to buy food before entering.
We bought ours and cooked our own dinner.
Otherwise, it’s a good private house, probably best for adults.

Aso Tenshuku is the best hotel I've stayed at in Aso City. The room was really spacious and clean, with complete amenities including a TV, air conditioning, heating, and Wi-Fi. Most importantly, the bathroom was also large and very clean, with great water pressure and hot water.
The owner, Mr. Lai, is a retired ********* gentleman who came to Japan to enjoy his retirement and opened this hotel. He's friendly, easygoing, and incredibly hospitable. On our first day, he warmly welcomed us and introduced us to nearby shops and attractions. We even shared drinks and chatted together.
Since the hotel is very close to convenience stores and supermarkets, and local shops tend to close earlier, guests can buy ingredients at the nearby supermarket and cook at the hotel. The beef there is very affordable.

Unlike other hotels that send you the check-in information beforehand, you are required to scan the QR Code on the door, input the relevant information before the owners email you the door access code. It wasn't immediately apparent so I had to call the owner, and wasted 15min of international call time.
However, entering the room was a great delight! It was much more spacious than expected. The living conditions were very comfortable. You can lie on the shammock on the rooftop as well to watch the stars.
The restaurants around close by 5pm. It would probably be better had I spend more nights here to rest and simply do nothing.

My brother and me had a terrific stay in the beautiful setting. The drive up the mountain on a tiny road is well worth it. The hostess is so friendly and wonderful, and was so hospitable. She explained the food dishes that were served using Google translate. The food was amazing, so varied and included local specialties: Trout, fried moth larvae, black moss that grows on rocks ( local delicatessen), wild hog soup, deer sashimi, etc. We experienced the finest Japanese food and hospitality. Traditional bedroom with tatami mats and access to the unsen were added amenities.
Thank you for the memorable experience!

Guest UserAlthough it took a lot of setbacks to find this homestay (I thought it was a hotel 🏨) (Ctrip's name is not accurate at all, depressed 😒), but you can’t say that I would choose a place to live [呲牙], if not outside It’s dark, I can’t take pictures, otherwise the effect would be better: next to a small river, coming in is a small garden, very quiet, the room is an ensuite, everything is there, I will come back to the hot spring after eating delicious food in the evening. ♨️, have a good night’s sleep, and you will have a good walk around tomorrow morning[悠闲][悠闲]

While the inn is in a remote location, this is not a problem if you are traveling by car as it's a mere 5 min drive from the Takamori train station - with convenience stores a short walk away. The lady host of the inn was kind and helpful throughout our short atay despite our inability to speak Japanese. Do note that the kitchen is closed but there is a working microwave oven if you need to heat up your food.

Guest UserThe location is a bit tricky to walk to, but we were able to get help with the pick-up.
The accommodation is a private house, and everything including the kitchen was perfect.
The scenery around the mountain was also very impressive, and it was nice to take a walk in the morning.
The owner couple was very kind and friendly.
We were very satisfied with the cost-effectiveness, and if we were looking for a hot spring, we would definitely go here again.

I had a single room, and it's a fairly old hotel.
It was cheap so I can't complain.
It was perfect for a stay.
If you're looking for something else, I recommend staying at the Tsukasa Royal Hotel right in front of the hotel.
They have plenty of amenities, and breakfast is only 500 yen!
There's an open-air bath, and since there were no other people there, you had it all to yourself.
I'll definitely stay here again when I come to Tamana.

Guest UserThe rooms had all the essentials and I really liked the small onsen. The only issue was the instability of the Wi-Fi which kept dropping off even after staff helped me connect to a new one. I came here during summer so I cannot comment on insulation during winter as you’re affectively sleeping in a container.
