Bären Self Check-in Hotel

Paid CHF 260. - for: an ascetic room not particularly large with 2 beds, a small dressing (box and/or box absence), a small desk, a small TV, a small bathroom (with a door of 60 cm). The room, with a part of the roof, which was flat under the roof, was on the road side with a small window, half occupied by a sticky tube of a similarly sticky air conditioner. So either very hot with closed window or very noisy with open window; it is unthinkable to sleep with closed window and the air conditioner in function as high noisy.

Boutique Hotel la Couronne

This is a fine hotel about a 10-15 min walk from the Solothurn train station across the river and up a hill. The old town (Altstadt) of Solothurn is very nice, reknown in Switzerland for its Baroque style. The hotel itself is first class but I would strongly advise being sure to stay in the main building itself, not the annex. Here's why: the annex is on an alleyway and near a bar which has a loud and boisterous clientele. When we were there, it was as though the zombie drummer from Hell and his singers were having a gig - happily, I think Swiss law closed them up at 10 or so. Not sure if this is always the case but.... The restaurant at the hotel is very nicely done, excellent food and wine list, breakfast is sumptuous, service tops. Solothurn is off the beaten touristic track for most but if there, this is a worthy candidate in which to find repose.

Excellent hostel! Near the station. I lived in a 6-storey local room. There are not two-story beds, but made in the dop.story and beds are placed on it. Breakfast was beautiful, dense. Near the hostel river, you can swim! In the room clean and comfortable, the sanuses are also clean. I definitely recommend, especially for such a cost!

This hotel checked all my boxes for a short stay in Solothurn. I have stayed in the city many times on business trips but this time I was passing by privately. The hotel offers a very convenient location south of the river. A few parking paces for guests are available but they were occupied when we arrived. But the staff was very helpful in finding an alternative. There are a few parking garages (one with charging option which we were looking for) close by. Reception was very friendly and all the hotel details were explained very patiently. Rooms are basic but with comfortable beds and clean, properly working showers. There are no in-room coffee or tea facilities but guest can get free coffee from a machine near the reception. There is also a fridge with drinks and a request to write down anything you take from it. Very friendly. Breakfast also basic but good and it can be enjoyed on the small terrace in the back of the hotel. Prices are very friendly compared to the other (slightly more upscale) hotels in Solothurn.
