It took me ages to book online my future stay in Vancouver with that mediocre hostel through first Hostelworld and later directly online with the hostel itself. A real nightmare! Now, I am spending additional time to make sure I post negative reviews online but I am glad to do it. I can assure you that Cambie downtown Seymour hostel is not a reliable, trustworthy hostel you can rely on. Early April, knowing that Canada is busy in spring, autumn and summer, I started doing my homework and booked my stay with Hostelworld. Since then, I did not finish being on the phone and computer correcting booking issues with the hostel staff. First, Hostelworld booking # did not match the hostel one. OK it was corrected. Second, the bookings which followed were cancelled by the hostel without my authorization and they blamed me and Hostelworld. Third, the hostel manager called Victor begged me to cancel the Hostelworld ones and keep his bookings performed directly online with the hostel instead. I did it. And now after all those acrobatics back and forth, Victor has the nerve to cancel them. What a disgrace! I was stunned. FYI, his staff working is rude, impatient and lack of courtesy customer service when I took myself the time to call from USA and confirm my bookings. I was paying the phone calls. It was a real nightmare. Now, I just booked somewhere else. Yes, online Seymour is the cheapest but cheap is expensive. I wasted 2 months and now, today, in June I got a cancellation email from Victor. Unfair not ethical professional business attitude from that hostel! I wish to make sure you all know about it and book somewhere else where it is guaranteed you will have a place where to stay. Anyway, if you decide to book with that hostel, make sure you confirm your booking because what you paid and book might be not what you get. Coming from Canada, it is very strange but unfortunately the staff is not originally from that country. That is why they behave that way. I am a world traveler and never had such nasty, mediocre, and poor level experience. I booked my stay with Edmonton, Calgary, Banff, Lake Louise, Gasper and Tofino within a couple of seconds without going through that ordeal/nightmare. I did not deserve such treatment. The hostel messed with all my bookings. I can write a book. I won't recommend that hostel to my best friends.

Ececellent location for travellers planning to go Whistler/Blackcomb for Skiing or sniowboarding. The hotel is just a few minutes walk to the gondolas. The pod is clean, neat but still a bit wallet unfriendly for a capsule type hotel. Suggest travellers to avoid upper level pods because of climbing up and down. All staffs are nice, very helpful plus there are racks to store snowboards and locker for storage. , However,combination locks are not provided. Remember to bring at least 3 combination locks if you are interested to stay in this pod hotel.

You can reserve Cambie Hostel Gastown online (recommended, about $29/night, w/small deposit about 15%) I am a Travel Advisor, traveling and booking travel is my job. I book 4 and 5 Star hotels, cruises, land tours and more, but found when I go on a cruise to Alaska and starting my cruise in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada l like hanging out downtown Vancouver. Vancouver is beautiful, lots to do, and Cambie Hostel Gastown is close to the cruise port (walking distance, with 1 rolling luggage, about 5 blocks), safe, with great bars and restaurants. If you take Greyhound, the bus station is a block from the rail (2 bucks for seniors, I am 65), go north towards Cambie Hostel Gastown, at stop walk about 5-6 blocks (or take taxi). Once you are there, make sure your credit card was cleared with bank (call ahead and let them know you are traveling abroad, if required), pay, get keys, drop bags in room, then go out and enjoy all that Vancouver has to offer. Cambie Hostel is attached to a bar, party on, with young travelers from all around the world, so enjoy interacting with them during your stay. I am going back in 3 wks for another Alaska cruise. The service at the front desk is very friendly. There are vending machines where you can buy snacks. The heating in the room is sufficient. The toilet and room are also clean. The transportation is also convenient. It is a 10-minute drive from downtown. The only downside is that no slippers are provided.

Location is fine, depending on where you want to go. The bus stop is just few steps away from the house. There is a church nearby. Opposite the house you can find a low-rise apartment. The house and the room I stay are very clean and comfortable. The landlady is friendly and helpful. I feel safe. All the services and amenities listed in Trip.Com are available. It would be much more better if the specific address is listed in Trip.com for the convenience of booking. Responses are considered quick and efficient. Recommended for single female travelers, if you are unsure of having homestay.

A very cozy place where you feel like at home, the friendly staffs is a great catch, the 2 girls who started at 5 am preparing your breakfast always carry a sweet smile that makes you day with great start, Gloria and Darren always take the extra mile to make suggestions for places to visit and dine caring to your preferences, the man in charge, Sam, really impressed me how far they go to make a conventional hotel business with great concern to being Green, the team there makes it different from the others and I would recommend anyone who is visiting Victoria to book yourself couple of nights there

The miniature double room just fits a double mattress, but there are charging plugs for bedside lamps and storage racks. It is clean and hygienic. The four rooms share a bathroom, and the bathroom is also very clean. The best thing about it is that besides providing a rich free breakfast and a filling dinner, the atmosphere of the hostel is very strong. Provide one free water or beer. There are many older people, so it is called a backpacker hostel, not a youth hostel.

There was a jacuzzi, which was great for relieving my tired body✨The breakfast buffet included bread, waffles, cookies, yogurt, bacon, omelets, and more! The waffles I made myself in the waffle maker were especially delicious☺️ The staff at the reception and restaurant were friendly and really nice!

Friendly, and helpful staff.The location is very good. The Real Canadian Superstore is very close by, and a Costco is right behind Superstore.. Orchard Park Mall is across the street. The rooms were very clean. The beds, well I slept like a baby on them all night. Absolutely love the beds. The showerhead in.the room we were in was very modern and I loved it. The breakfast was pretty good. You can toast your bread/waffle fancy toaster you would see in Tim Hortons or A&W.Tgey have hard boiled eggs, cereal, muffins, granola bars, yogurt, tea, coffee, apple juice, orange juice and cranberry juice. Also they have a pool and hot tub very close to the reception desk to check in or out. Only a few parking spots in front, a few on the side and the rest of the parking is located in the back. If you park on the side of White Spot parking you will get towed or ticketed.The is a cement dividers and if it snows you may not see them as they are small. Please be aware and be careful. The rooms are a bit outdated, kitchen floor was very dirty, bathroom floor could have been cleaner. I asked and they cleaned it for us the next day. The staff are amazing we stayed in a 1 bedroom suite and it was great all kinds of space and great outdoor space with table and chairs with umbrella's and 2 BBQ's. Sad the pool is not working hpefully it will be the next time we go. There is another pool you can go to a couple blocks away at their sister motel. We will stay here agian. The breakfast was good!

Eclectic old-fashioned motor hotel in a central location. Clean rooms, nostalgic architecture and decor, comfortable beds, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Well priced and accessible. This motel has a colourful history of movie and TV shows filmed there: check Google and the collection of photos in the lobby! It even has its own jigsaw puzzle (a hard one)! There was a lovely playful dog across the fence outside the kitchen door. We spent a night here on the way to a special occasion and will definitely be back.

Hotel location is convenient, the environment is good nearby. Although there is noise, other facilities have been updated Most of the time it's quiet. The price is reasonable, except for the hotel, it is worth recommending

The employees were very pleasant and friendly…….however there were dirty streaks of fingerprints on the bathroom door, dried milk stains on the chair and a dirty streak on the window. There were only two pillows on the bed, no coffee maker, no coffee, no iron, and no extra blankets. We stayed for two nights, reserved 3 weeks before. We were placed in a room by the front door, there was a lot of noise outside the entrance late at night so didn’t get a lot of sleep. When we asked to be moved for the second night we were told there were other reservations and it would be more work for housekeeping. We were offered a room two doors down which would have been no quieter. The ice machine was broken, the television was so small that it couldn’t be seen from the bed. Perhaps if it was mounted on the wall instead of on the low table it would have been better. There also seems to be a hiccup between the government website and their records because I had to argue for the government employee discount. Overall an unpleasant stay

I would certainly recommend the Westward Inn and Suites. i was looking for a room with 2 double beds later in the evening and walked into the office area. i was met by Lance, who stated that the hotel was actually closed and he had little space left. While asking where I could possibly find another hotel in the area, he mentioned that it was his wife's birthday and he had to finish up soon. As I was leaving, he asked what kind of room I was looking for and he said that he just had a cancellation come in, so I would be able to take the room. Even though he had the computer shut down and was almost ready to walk out the door, he graciously helped me finish the paper work and give us a room for the night. He is a definite 'people person', enjoys his job and is an asset to this business. The room was very clean, beds were comfy and we had a good night's sleep. It was nice to meet a hotel worker that was so friendly and accommodating!

The location is average, it is a bit noisy to keep the road. Hotel facilities are relatively simple, air conditioning is not easy to use. Breakfast is free, but only juice and bread are too shabby.

You paid what you get, no complaints.

The hotel is very close to the airport, there is a shuttle bus service from the airport, there is a McDonald's nearby, and the second day after the car is returned by car, choose to stay here! The hotel is small, the room is large, there are two large beds, clean! The breakfast at the hotel is very simple, bread, boiled eggs, coffee milk, a little fruit, which is not bad for most hotels that do not include breakfast. The hotel has a small outdoor pool and the children are very happy to play and are satisfied with the overall hotel.
