I saw a lot of comments saying the location was a bit out of the way. But seriously, is it possible that when they were choosing a spot for the Changsha branch, they just couldn't find a suitable property to rent in Wuyi Square? There aren't many hostels of this size in Changsha that can operate as accommodation and pass fire safety inspections. After careful comparison, they chose the current location. As for people complaining about the front desk service, honestly, they just need to complete basic reception, replies, and have basic etiquette. Don't ask for too much. Their salaries aren't high. If you want great service, just tip them a red packet every time. If you pay enough, they'll break all the glass for you. If you transfer 10,000 every time, you'll see the front desk will serve you so well they'll even usher you out personally! And then there are those clean freaks complaining about hygiene. Honestly, as long as your bed in the room is clean, that's enough. Don't have extra demands. Think about how much you paid to book the room. If you're going to pick nits with a magnifying glass, then no hotel in the world is clean! Even the Four Seasons, Capella, Mandarin Oriental, Shanghai Bulgari, Shanghai Peace Hotel, and Hong Kong Peninsula Hotel suites have hygiene issues; it's unavoidable. If you're going to fuss about these things, you're just living too tiredly. Also, these types of hostels abroad mainly offer cheap accommodation for travelers. Only in China will they spoil you like this. In Japan, you'd be checked out by 10 AM, kicked out. If you complain there, they'll kick you out that day, simply because they have the right not to serve guests who don't follow their rules. The hygiene really isn't a problem. I don't think it's any less clean than an All Seasons or Hanting. As for the bathroom, with people constantly going in and out 24 hours a day, the cleaning staff can't clean it every single time someone uses the toilet. The aunties are earning 3,000 a month, not 30,000. You're paying 50 yuan a night for a hostel, not 5,000 or 50,000. Don't make such a big deal out of it. Instead of fussing over these things, go make more money so you don't have to stay in hostels and can stay in a hotel, then you won't have these problems. Think about how much you paid! It's like some people who book a special offer or carpool and then tell the driver to go faster. Why didn't you just book a private car in the first place? Because you know it's expensive, so you didn't. If you dislike hostels, why do you stay in them? Why not stay in a hotel? Isn't it essentially because you don't have money? If you don't have money, then shut up!

The guy at the front desk was incredibly enthusiastic and thorough. He gave a detailed introduction to Fenghuang Ancient City and even helped us arrange a suitable room, especially since the hotel wasn't fully booked. The common area has a good selection of Shen Congwen's books that you can browse. The location is super central, very close to the river, just down a small alley next to the statue. It's a quiet spot despite being central, so it's not noisy at night. The room cleaning is done by local aunties, so it's not super standardized, but it's perfectly fine for the price. This place offers really great value for money!

The sales lady was good and was speaking english (the only one tho) it was great not having to use the translator for once. She gave good recommendations and savings on the tickets. The ground reception floor was nicely curated, but not the dorm room.. The room had water dripping from the roof in a few spots (luckily not on the beds), there was some mold on the toilet cassette and wall stains from what seemed a water leak. The price was low so I guess can't complain too much. Beside that, the room was getting cleaned daily and the bed sheets were clean. 2 hair driers in the room. They provide shower gel and shampoo in the bathroom, amazing to not see single use products. Great location!

The location is great, right in the downtown area of Changsha and close to a cool little bar street. The price was fantastic and the owner was really nice. She cleaned the dorms and bathrooms every day and helped with any questions I had.

I was the only one there in the low season and I was made to feel so welcomed. The owner really might be the sweetest woman in town. She was patient with using the translator and all of my random questions trying to get some things ready for the road. I showed up on bicycle and she let me keep it inside. I definitely recommend to anyone passing through. It's simple, the water is hot, the room clean and there is air conditioning. Thank you!

If you have never stayed in a youth hostel, you can really try staying in this one. Maybe the first time will be a ceiling-level stay experience. Staying in this hotel is like opening a gentle collection of poems, with delicate beauty everywhere; I arrived at the store at around 3 pm, and the front desk guy checked in very skillfully, and did not forget to share with us all kinds of delicious and fun places in Changsha. The boss must be a person who loves life very much. He turned the youth hostel into a home on the journey, so that every passerby can continue to the next stop with the gentle memory of this city and this journey. In the room, the simple log style is matched with fresh green plants, and the sun shines through the blinds, smudges soft light and shadow. The bunk bed hides a proper sense of privacy, building a small world for travelers, a high-quality experience of less than 100 yuan. The bathroom is clean and bright, with care hidden in the details, and the clean and tidy environment gives people a good first impression; the street view is hazy by the window, and time has slowed down. The public area is more like a warm little settlement. The coffee machine in the coffee corner is waiting quietly, as if it can brew a fragrant story at any time. The art paintings on the wall on the first floor and the guitar in the corner let the literary factor flow in the space. Here, you can not only find a place to rest, but also step into a romance about ”encounter”. Next time I come, I will definitely choose this place again to continue the poetry hidden in the youth hostel.

The hygiene is average. The kitchen and toilet are a bit dirty. There is one toilet for each person, which is a bit difficult to use. You have to go downstairs. The dog is very nice and welcoming.

The desk-lady was really kind and provided a lot of helpful information via wechat upon arrival. Only downsides is the shower is in the same box as the standing poopers, which was a bit nasty not gonna lie. But common enough in China, so I'd still recommend it as a good cheap option--especially upon arrival from airport or sth like that

The accommodation experience was quite good. There were two people when we checked in, and one person left behind. There was quite a lot of space. Downstairs is Xinglong Pedestrian Street, and next to it is Bubugao Plaza. There are many snacks and shopping is convenient. The room has windows and a balcony to dry clothes. Each bed is equipped with a small electric fan and air conditioner. It is convenient for other travelers to check in. If you don’t know the way for the first time, you can look at the diagram below (the text behind the first picture should be Unit 7, not Unit 4) Haha, the road is a bit circuitous, but I can remember it the first time I walked. It's very convenient.

The youth travel found temporarily during the concert is a bit small in literary style. The boss on the big balcony has planted a lot of flowers and plants. I like the most that there is a puppy in the store called egg yolk, I like to touch super obedient! Super cute!

GGuest UserHost is a super nice guy and very helpful. He helps you book your tickets as well as with communication and he has many good tips for you. Usually people hang downstairs, there are also three cute cats. Usually people order food and have dinner together. You will easily meet fellow travelers here. The place is otherwise very basic and could need repairs and more frequent cleanups. But that is not the focus here. The hostel is also close to the starting point to Tianmen mountain. PS: The package for the avatar mountains has hiked to 450 RMB including cablecars and elevator (you can use the ticket on 4 consecutive days). 12 RMB to take the bus to its south gate. You need two days to finish the avatar mountains. Then one more day for Tianmen mountain. Another day for the canyon, if you want.

AAnonymous UserThis is the best hostel I’ve ever stayed in! The host is so unbelievably friendly and kind, and the dinner was so good and I got to meet many travellers staying there too! It is my first time travelling solo and I met amazing people here. The hostel is within walking distance from the forest park’s east gate. There are a few restaurants less than a minute’s walk nearby. The hostel itself is very clean with sheets you can change yourself, as well as having a night light and foldable table. Toilets are shared among the same gender, shampoo and body wash is provided. There’s even a rooftop space for you to hangout at. I highly recommend staying here if you’re a solo traveller as you’ll feel so welcome here! P.S. you can book tickets through the host as it is discounted as well!

GGuest UserThe service was excellent; they gave us a free room upgrade and even helped plan our travel itinerary. We were also able to get discounted cable car tickets through them. The room was very clean, and breakfast was good. Right downstairs, there's a bustling night market with lots of delicious food, and recently, many popular influencer restaurants have opened up. It's also super close to the East Gate scenic area, just a 5-minute walk away.

GGuest UserXiang Lan-ying is the sweetest host I ever had! She truly has a heart of gold and her smile radiates positivity. The hotel is super close to the East Gate, just a few minutes walk. My room was very clean and comfortable, had air conditioning, several towels and bottled water. Xiang Lan-ying sat with me to go through all the spots to visit in the National Park and the best routes. She also gave me a discount for the entrance ticket. She recommended me a very nice restaurant and I had dinner there every night! On my last day after a long hike I arrived quite tired and she offered me a local Zhangjiajie tea and a rice cake, she really made me feel at home. I can’t recommend this place enough, it was so so nice to stay here. 10/10

The bed is comfortable, the facilities are great, and the environment is elegant. Living in the scenic area, you can enter and exit multiple times.
