Environment: The entrance isn't very noticeable, took me a while to find it, and it didn't really look like a hostel from the outside.
Service: I was pleasantly surprised by how good the service was for a hostel! They even helped carry my bags to the room when it was raining and gave a very detailed explanation of the layout and facilities.
Hygiene: The linens were all pre-fitted, just like in a hotel, and I saw the staff cleaning every room.

This is the best hostel I’ve ever stayed in! The host is so unbelievably friendly and kind, and the dinner was so good and I got to meet many travellers staying there too! It is my first time travelling solo and I met amazing people here. The hostel is within walking distance from the forest park’s east gate. There are a few restaurants less than a minute’s walk nearby. The hostel itself is very clean with sheets you can change yourself, as well as having a night light and foldable table. Toilets are shared among the same gender, shampoo and body wash is provided. There’s even a rooftop space for you to hangout at. I highly recommend staying here if you’re a solo traveller as you’ll feel so welcome here!
P.S. you can book tickets through the host as it is discounted as well!

If you have never stayed in a youth hostel, you can really try staying in this one. Maybe the first time will be a ceiling-level stay experience.
Staying in this hotel is like opening a gentle collection of poems, with delicate beauty everywhere; I arrived at the store at around 3 pm, and the front desk guy checked in very skillfully, and did not forget to share with us all kinds of delicious and fun places in Changsha.
The boss must be a person who loves life very much. He turned the youth hostel into a home on the journey, so that every passerby can continue to the next stop with the gentle memory of this city and this journey.
In the room, the simple log style is matched with fresh green plants, and the sun shines through the blinds, smudges soft light and shadow. The bunk bed hides a proper sense of privacy, building a small world for travelers, a high-quality experience of less than 100 yuan.
The bathroom is clean and bright, with care hidden in the details, and the clean and tidy environment gives people a good first impression; the street view is hazy by the window, and time has slowed down.
The public area is more like a warm little settlement. The coffee machine in the coffee corner is waiting quietly, as if it can brew a fragrant story at any time. The art paintings on the wall on the first floor and the guitar in the corner let the literary factor flow in the space.
Here, you can not only find a place to rest, but also step into a romance about ”encounter”. Next time I come, I will definitely choose this place again to continue the poetry hidden in the youth hostel.
First, the conclusion—this is the best hostel I've ever stayed in, so I stayed for almost half a month!
【Overall Environment】Very new and clean. The owner has some design background, and the overall feel is minimalist and aesthetically pleasing.
【Facilities】One room even has two separate bathrooms and showers, which is incredibly luxurious and definitely deserves extra points!
【Cleanliness】Very clean. As you can see in the pictures, the lobby and rooms are bright and spotless, with no unpleasant odors.
【Bed and Air Conditioning】The mattress is very soft, not cheap bedding, and feels great against the skin. You don't even need to put on a sheet cover, which is very convenient! The air conditioning is also very powerful, yet it's surprisingly quiet, not disturbing your rest—better than many five-star hotels!
【Entertainment Facilities】The pool table is relatively new. I played a couple of games there every day—so comfortable! Also, there's even a free Switch on the second floor—can you believe it?!
【Food】The owner was incredibly welcoming, recommending many restaurants on the first day and even picking us up and dropping us off. None of them were bad! Especially the **Shell Boxed Meals—yyds! I ate there for a week!
[Fun] The owner is quite playful; he brought a drone to play with us. A few of us went to a small canyon with Danxia landforms. This place was even more interesting than Xiaodongjiang, which I visited later, because it was undeveloped and more pristine!
[Other] The owner also sang karaoke with us and introduced me to a song called ”Post-Rock” (or ”Slow Rock,” I can't quite remember). The song was fun, but it didn't do justice to the owner's personal charm. His goal this year seems to be skydiving or paragliding; I wish him success!
[Summary] Danxia red cliffs reflected in the setting sun, Chenzhou is like a dream, no need to return! Mugen Youth Hostel, definitely worth a stay!

We booked this hostel during our stay in Zhangjiajie because of the location and price. The listing pictures can be deceiving as the hostel is much older than represented. We ended up booking two rooms: a family room and a single room. I have an obsession for cleanliness so it’s not exactly up to my standards as the rooms were quite old and walls were dirty and had bugs (ants, spiders, springtails). Springtails kept crawling in under my blanket and made sleeping very difficult. But due to environmental/climate conditions, these are probably quite normal. Originally when booking this I thought it was a hotel and only realized it was a hostel when we arrived because the sign was different. Other guests can be noisy in the halls so there isn’t any noise insulation. The front desk service however was excellent!!They were super helpful in planning itineraries and offering discounted admission tickets for guests to various attraction spots and made it stressfree in terms of planning each day. Location is also very close to bus station and has quite a bit of food around the area.

Very clean. I feeled well in this house. The owner is a helpful lady. She send me all information to my mobile that I needed. From how to come via bus to the hostel to what sights to see best in 2 days. The location ist perfekt for tian mountain, but If you want to see the park, it is a bit far away, 50 min, 13 Yuan by Bus, didi about 50-60 Yuan each way. Facilties hostel standard, good value.

I had a very comfortable stay. The owner was super nice, and the environment was beautiful and clean. The landlady cleaned every day! It's really close to the subway station, just 100m from Huangxing Square. There are plenty of options for food, drinks, and entertainment nearby. Guys, I've even seen this place half an hour after checking out.

It is very close to the International Finance Center and Taiping Old Street. It is within walking distance to all Internet celebrity check-in points. It is very convenient to eat downstairs. The tea is really good and delicious. This is definitely a five-star review! The owner always pays attention to public health and will clean in time.” Service: You can't find a more considerate youth hostel. If needed, they will even help put the sheets and quilts on! Free toothbrushes and toothpaste, slippers, toilet paper, and warm water from a drinking fountain are also provided. Shampoo and shower gel are also provided. Facilities: The small living room actually has a projector to watch movies: each room has a bathroom, no smell, and is very clean. The six-person room I stayed in is spacious and the air conditioner is open all day. It's quiet at night and has a good sleep. Each bed has a small locker and a microwave for use. The washing machine is 2 yuan a time. The overall experience is great. This time I come to Changsha. I will also ”go home” and wait for the wind to come (I live there and give my honest review).

[Parks info below] I'm glad that I checked out this hostel, good value for money. Room was nice and tidy, lots of electricity sources in bed and common area, curtains, hot shower. I shared the 6 beds dorm with just another girl, and you make your own bed. No toilet paper, no free water refill, no light in bed. It's worth the price. If you extend your stay directly in the hostel it's cheaper than the app.
The reception area is more cramped but you can socialize there. Most of the people are Chinese but I also met some foreigners. The guy in the reception speaks English and can give you information, in addition to that I recommend you to do your own research. There are two baby cats playing around, and an adult one.
You can get to the hostel from the west railway station by bus line 17 for 2 yuan - last bus at 8:40pm + 15 minutes walk. Location is close to the main avenue where there's a lot of restaurants, and a 24-hour convenience store close to the corner with this same avenue. There are two night markets in the city, one on the avenue like 10 min distance walking to downtown direction, more local, and another one on the street in front of the tianmen mountain cable car, more touristy. The hostel is 15 minutes walking to the central bus station where you can get the bus to zhangjiajie park and 15-20 to the tianmen mountain cable car station.
[ATTRACTIONS] Zhangjiajie (avatar), tianmen (heaven's gate) and canyon (glass bridge) are 3 different parks in different locations.
The entrance to zhangjiajie gives you access for 4 days. I went the 4 days and enjoyed it very properly. If you're short on time, 2 days will do, but plan it wisely based on your priorities. Gates are 1 hour trip distance from the central bus station - 1h30 at weekends. Also, note that before entering the park with passport and face scan, you need to do an APPOINTMENT for that hour. You usually do it there at the gate, but for a saturday all appointments for that hour were sold out in advance and I had to wait for 45 minutes to go in. Recommended to check in advance especially on weekends.
There are 2 types of tickets you can get: including all cable cars and elevator for unlimited time for 450 yuan; or just the entrance (including only free shuttles) for 215 yuan - you still have the option of buying each transport at the park (75 yuan cablecar one-way, 65 elevator one-way). At first, I had understood that to see the avatar mountains, the ONLY way was through the elevator, so I bought the all-inclusive. Turns out you CAN go by free shuttle + hike + free shuttle if you start in the east gate. My favorite part was the huangshi village.
For tianmen, the entrance is 260 yuan. Choose the route in advance because some sell out fast. Gold advice: go at least one hour or more BEFORE the hour that you have the tickets for. The hour of your ticket just matters before the very last point before boarding the cable car. The line was MASSIVE and it took me 2h30 waiting on a Monday - ended up getting in 2 hours late than my ticket time and couldn't finish the whole loop: took only the red trail and went down to the heaven's gate.
About the Canyon, I can't say much because I decided to skip it and save the 210 yuan ticket - note that this price DOESN'T include the activities, you must pay separately. The package that includes almost* everything is 360 yuan.
Last but not least, if you go to the 72 Wonders, there's also an entrance of 88 yuan. You can go/come back with the bus 17 - same line that serves to the west railway station, last bus 8:40pm.

GGuest UserThe hotel room was great, and the front desk staff was very welcoming. It's super convenient, really close to the scenic area entrance. The complimentary breakfast was also delicious. When we extended our stay, housekeeping was prompt, and they even provided extra bottled water and tissues. We felt very comfortable and highly recommend it! 😊😊

GGuest UserUnlike some of the other places I've stayed at, what you see on the pictures is current. It's a family run business. The owner was super friendly and accommodating. I had a slight cough, and she immediately made me some warm tea to soothe my throat. Her hospitality was beyond my expectations. A drink was spilled on my jacket, and when I got back after dinner she helped me wash and dry it manually. Her breakfast was also amazing. For a budget hostel, this ranks near the top
RRomashaIt was a wonderful trip. A cozy town with beautiful views. The hotel is very conveniently located. It's between the bus station and the eastern gate, a 5-minute walk on a small, quiet street.
There are a lot of cafes nearby for any budget. Across the street, there's a grocery store where you can buy a snack.
The hotel has 3 floors, it's not large, and the rooms are comfortable. Very comfortable beds, warm blankets. I loved everything.
Park tickets are available at the hotel at a chipper price. The host planned a two-day trek and explained everything in great detail and clearly, and she booked an entry slot.
The most important is the hostess; she is very hospitable and warm. She always helps with questions. We became friends. I will miss you, my darling. Your soul is beautiful. It wouldn't have been so much fun without you. ❤️❤️❤️

AABBDDThe guy at the front desk was incredibly enthusiastic and thorough. He gave a detailed introduction to Fenghuang Ancient City and even helped us arrange a suitable room, especially since the hotel wasn't fully booked. The common area has a good selection of Shen Congwen's books that you can browse. The location is super central, very close to the river, just down a small alley next to the statue. It's a quiet spot despite being central, so it's not noisy at night. The room cleaning is done by local aunties, so it's not super standardized, but it's perfectly fine for the price. This place offers really great value for money!
GGuest UserThe environment is clean and the soundproofing in the room is good. Even a light sleeper like me can sleep comfortably. The service attitude is as good as always. If you have any questions, tell the front desk and they will handle your problem quickly. They are very efficient and very satisfied! The bed is comfortable, the facilities are great, and the environment is elegant. Living in the scenic area, you can enter and exit multiple times. It is cost-effective, the location is good, the price is affordable, and the service is enthusiastic. 💯
