Me and my friend had an incredible stay here. We met so many likeminded travellers which culminated in many amazing shared experiences. Definitely one of my favourite hostels that I’ve stayed in.
Would also like to give a special thanks to Ella for her helpfulness and being the best dumpling making instructor. Thank you!

The common areas are really spacious! There's a mezzanine on the first floor and the second floor. The second floor is super lively at night with lots of people playing Werewolf, but it's very quiet during the day, perfect for reading or studying. You'll find many train and plane tickets, Polaroids, and guest messages here.
For the price, it's an absolute steal to get clean bathrooms and showers, fast hot water, and pre-made, clean bedding. The guy at the bar at night is especially cheerful and lively. You should definitely try their specialty cocktails; the *baijiu* concoctions are quite good!

I stayed in the female capsule room. The first floor environment was quite good, but once you get to the fourth floor, it's exactly as shown in the pictures – all metal grates. I initially had trouble finding my way; the front desk just told me to go straight out of the elevator. I only found out where to go after asking another guest. The room itself was pretty clean, but they didn't provide a toothbrush or toiletries during my stay. I didn't sleep too well; someone was making calls at 11 PM, and people were still showering at 2 or 3 AM. The room isn't soundproof at all, so you can hear everything clearly. However, the upside is having a small room to yourself, though it's only slightly more spacious than a regular 6 or 8-person dorm. Just a heads-up for anyone considering it: it's fine if you're just looking for a temporary stopover. After all, what more can you expect for this price?

I booked this hostel online for my trip, just to try it out, expecting a basic place to crash. To my surprise, it was much better than I anticipated! The beds were very clean and hygienic, and the bathroom was well-ventilated. Housekeeping cleaned promptly every day, and we even got a free bottle of mineral water. The large common area on the 6th floor was great for eating takeout – it was sunny, warm, and they even had folk music performances sometimes, creating a really lively atmosphere. A special shout-out to the front desk staff, who were incredibly friendly and enthusiastic. They even recommended some authentic local snacks nearby. It's only a few hundred meters from the subway station, and there are tons of snack stalls downstairs, many of which are open until the early hours. For me, this place offers a tranquil spot in a bustling area, perfectly quiet and peaceful. For just a few tens of yuan, such value for money is rare these days. I highly recommend everyone to come and give it a try!
The inn's location is excellent. It's right behind Mount Lu (Lushan), and across the street is Moon Town. (Just a heads-up for visitors: the cable car station and the mountain gate for Mount Lu are not in the same place; they're several hundred meters apart.) The place is also clean and even provides disposable towels and toilet seat covers, which is a nice touch.

The courtyard, with bedding airing in the sun and flowers in bloom, truly felt like stepping back into the 1970s. The kind gentleman overseeing the place busily made up the bed with a soft, pure cotton plaid bedding set, gesturing to show it was freshly laundered. I deeply felt the warmth and kindness from both him and the owner, and consequently enjoyed a wonderfully relaxing night's sleep. I also visited Qianfo Cliff, Huangze Temple, and Jianmen Pass.

Location
On a long street with many restaurants and shops along the street and a self service ATM 5 -10 min walk away, including a small market in the mornings. It is a residential area, so you will most likely be the only foreigner, but people are extremely friendly and helpful, albeit the stares. The entrance faced the main road and was well lit. There is a flight of stairs that you will need to go up to get to the hostel area. If you have not tried hot pot, I would def recommend going to the Haichiniu Xianxianqie Beef Self service Hot Pot place which is around 5 mins walk down the road.
Quite far from the centre of the city however it is extremely easy to get to. During the day, there is a close proximity to the underground around 10 min walk, and there is a bus that I took from the city centre to right outside the hostel door where the bus stop was. If you are going through the night/early morning, it is extremely easy to catch a taxi through apps and it is quite cheap (around 40- 70 yen) and the road is very well lit. I felt completely safe in the area.
Service
Chu, the hostel aunty is warm and helpful, and gives you a sense of being home away from home. This included being made some home made dumplings to celebrate Golden Week which tasted delicious! She gave recommendations on places to go and made sure that I kept safe when out. As another review said, it can be a bit difficult communicating if you don't know Chinese as no English at the hostel or around the area is spoken and it can get quite draining/ mentally challenging at times for us, however Chu still tried her best to communicate regardless and I really appreciated the effort. To get around this and to make your stay more enjoyable, I would be sure to have WeChat set up prior so you can use the chat translator and have your google translate app out ready. (N.B Make sure you are able to set up the account and get the WeChat validation/security text through your HOME sim/data roaming as opposed to attempting to set up your account on your E-sim which won't work).
Facilities
It is a hostel that provides what you need. The things that took my British head some time to get around was the shower situation and the bed; namely the shower as it was more typical of an advanced bidet than standard shower. However, it was kept exceptionally clean after my first day there and I did my part of keeping it clean by bleaching it down. The bed is quite sturdy, typical of Chinese beds, so I would recommend bringing a blanket or similar to lay on the mattress so you can get to sleep. There is an upstairs area where you can use the washing machine or wash your clothes by hand and an open area to hang dry your clothes. Make sure you have some cash ready to give to Chu to use the machine. There is a vending machine that you can buy snacks for using the your WeChat pay. There is a seating area at the top where you can sit down and eat, smoke and chat. Once you are used to the different products used (i.e remembering the slippers, using the shower etc.), it becomes second nature and a very comfortable stay (funny story: I was sitting on a desk chair outside my room and being use to the chairs in the UK being quite heavy, I swung myself around and ended up falling off the chair LOL!).
Cleanliness
Like I mentioned above, the hostel is kept exceptionally clean and I had no concerns around hygiene once I got used to the shower situation. The cleanliness is what I can say was a huge benefit to the hostel. Considering how large the place is and Chu is the sole host, it is kept evidently very clean and Chu will be sure to tell you to tidy up too lool. People in China are not a fan of strong smells/ fragranced things so you will not smell bleach or such products but after seeing a storage room, I can assure they are being used!
The photos in the other reviews capture it exactly so you will not be surprised when coming to the place.

What a perfect hostel! A few steps away from the bus station and at walking distance from Kangding main square and the monasteries
The hostel is clean, well organized, with a large communal space, a fridge and traditional stoves
The room (6 female dorm) is spacious, there is a window with mountains view, the bunk bed is large and equipped with light and international socket; there is even an electrical blanket for keeping you warm at night
The large outdoor terrace between reception and dorm building is so lovely and has a great view over the mountains and river
I really liked the rustic feel and thee extensive use of wood of the hostel

Pretty good, and the location is excellent. It's situated right in the heart of the main commercial district, just a few minutes' walk to the subway station and attractions, so getting around is incredibly convenient. The room was larger than expected, the bed had just the right firmness for a great night's sleep, and the bathroom had a separate wet and dry area with a full set of toiletries and stable hot water. The front desk staff were very enthusiastic, answered all our questions, and even thoughtfully provided tips for exploring the area. Overall, the experience was fantastic and the value for money is unbeatable. Highly recommend to anyone traveling!

This hostel is highly recommended! The environment is clean and tidy, with simple yet comfortable decor and a quiet, cozy atmosphere. Separate rooms for men and women ensure excellent privacy and safety, making my stay very peaceful. The staff are warm, attentive, and friendly, promptly helping to resolve any issues. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with soft bedding, and the facilities, including air conditioning, hot water, Wi-Fi, and bathroom amenities, are all readily available and easy to use. It's incredibly cost-effective, suitable for both travel and short-term stays. My overall experience was fantastic, and I would definitely choose this hostel again. I wholeheartedly recommend it!

GGuest UserStaying here for my trip to Chengdu was a fantastic choice! The owner is incredibly welcoming. The ground floor is a pub, and the third floor is dedicated to accommodations. The decor is unique, with lush greenery at the entrance, and the interior is cozy, elegant, and full of artistic flair. There were quite a few foreign guests, and the atmosphere was truly delightful. The facilities are comprehensive and new, and the beds are more spacious than in other hostels. The bathroom has a fantastic wet/dry separation and is super clean. The location is also incredibly convenient, close to bus and subway lines, and Wenshu Monastery. As someone who's stayed in hostels for years, this is the first time I've ever felt so at home. I'll definitely choose to stay here again when I return for summer vacation, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Chengdu!

Cons: Rooms are very small with thin mattresses. Toilet cleanliness is slightly below average, showers only available on the 3rd floor.

GGuest UserThis is a wonderful hostel! I had a long layover in Chengdu and needed a hostel for half a day. The 老板 (boss) greeted me, explained and showed me everything. I was leaving at 3 a.m., and he saw me off to the taxi, carried my suitcase. A huge thank you for such a warm welcome!

CCamilla MacchiaThe location is great and the staff was nice. But the room itself needs some care. It’s ok because it’s very very affordable, but it’s generally a bit worn out, the AC/heater didn’t work and the shower would flood, taking A LOT to drain. However, the location is very close to the center, metro station and bus station, so it’s ok for the price.

KKatja HerlemannEmma is a wonderful host and we felt very much at home! She speaks great English and knows about everything a traveler might want and need.
Her whole family is super friendly and open and we enjoyed hanging out. Her cook made us one of the best meals with local and seasonal vegetables that we have had on the whole trip.
The location of the charming guesthouse is in a quiet side street, away from the hustle of this very touristic town.
The only small drawback was a horse trip that we booked through Emma, but it's partly my own fault because I should have inquired in detail beforehand. It wasn't horseriding but sitting on a horse while the guide was walking next to it and holding it the entire time - even though I do know well how to ride a horse. We felt pretty ridiculous, especially because it was an expensive activity... So best to discuss exactly what to expect :)
