Hostels in Southern Region, Iceland

We have a 1 night stay at Midgard Camp during our 9 days road trip in Iceland. It is our 2nd stop hotel of our trip. Though the room are not big, but it is comfortable, good and cosy enough for all. The family rooms comes with 1 double bed plus 1 bunk bed enough for all 4 of us. The whole place is very vibrant, friendly staff, nicely decorated and energetic yet peaceful and quiet for individual enjoyment. The whole place is very well maintained and It is very clean even the common toilet as I bathe there to avoid waiting for our private toilet to save some time. The common kitchen is for all guests and is well equipped. We cooked our hot meal as well as breakfast there. We can also enjoy the complementary coffee/tea from the hotel paid breakfast. Overall, We enjoy our stay there even though it is just 1 night. The location is easily found with the GPS, you wouldn't miss it. Highly recommended this place. Also, really appreciate the friendly staff giving us a round tour of the place explaining where are the common toilet, hot bathe tub, dryer for our swim wear should we use the hot bathe tub and sauna. This is indeed exceed our expectation actually. 10/10!

The hostel is about 35 mins from Vik town and it is in the middle of other vacation houses by the owner. Rooms are clean and spacious and there is a fully equipped kitchen. If you are lucky, you can see the northern lights too!

Self-check-in, so you need to contact the hotel beforehand for your check-in details. The location is very convenient, but the overall price is too high for summer. Hotels in Iceland are seriously expensive in the summer! 😭😭😭

This is the most organized and cleanest hostel we've ever stayed in. The reception staff were incredibly impressive. For every group checking in, she patiently introduced all the facilities with a warm smile and enthusiasm. This is truly commendable. Additionally, the kitchen was incredibly well-stocked with appliances and supplies. The overall environment was also very quiet. It was truly our favorite hotel on this trip to Iceland.

Very near to Vik. We reserved a room with private bath and it is spacious and comfortable. Love the shared kitchen as it was well equipped and very thoughtful in details. Staff was friendly. Highly recommend.

The room is very open, the health is very good, the environment is small but complete! The only downside is that the sound insulation problem needs to be improved. But as a homestay, the environment is very good, very close to the city center, parking and shopping are very convenient!
