Excellent location. Very close to a konbini and all transport. Fast wifi. Free coffee. They provide towels and you can change your towel every day. On the 1st floor you can dry your hair with a Dyson hair dryer. There's also a hair dryer (a simple one) in the room. The shower has a shampoo, hair conditioner, shower gel and a garbage bin located very conveniently. There are also swabs, tissues and paper towels. There's a fridge and washing machines for 300 yen (coin activated) and a dryer for your clothes for 100 yen. I would definitely recommend this hostel for a friend

The location was great because Kiyomizu Ji Temple, Kodai Ji Temple and Kennin Ji Temple were very close and I could walk from the morning! The room is very fashionable and recommended for couples. However, there is a difficulty, the wall is very thin, and the conversation in the next room can be heard clearly. As for amenities, you need to buy or bring in because there are no toothbrushes, hand soaps, pajamas, etc. It is very satisfying to see it as a private room dormitory! However, I thought that I wanted a laundry space if I treated the dormitory, and the facilities are this evaluation.

Guesthouse Sign in Kyoto offers a quiet, relaxed atmosphere and a good location with easy access to public transport. The rooms are clean and functional, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The cozy common areas are particularly pleasant, perfect for unwinding after a day of sightseeing. It's a highly recommended accommodation for budget-conscious travelers in Kyoto.

I really loved this place. It felt super cosy, I was looking to stay in a traditional Japanese house and this scratched the itch. Check-in is not too confusing, you just follow the instructions provided. Yukatas available to rent. My room was very clean, and I didn't have any problems with noise. Location is good, near two bus stops and a 15min walk from Kyoto Railway station. A highlight is the public bath nearby - highly recommend going!!!

First of all, the environment of the homestay is very good, the environment is clean and tidy, although I stayed for a few days, I met a lot of like-minded friends, which was very pleasant and unexpected. Secondly, understanding that different political positions will lead to separation between people, and it does not require how enthusiastic the front desk staff is, but a Taiwanese lady troubles you to treat the personal emotions of the mainland so clearly (hiding in the toilet~ The customer also heard it to me, I don't know if you are unintentional or intentional). It is difficult to put away your subjective emotions in service work and don't seem so small, which can't change anything except to show your low quality.

This hostel's rooms are located on the first floor, making them ideal for those traveling with large luggage. The rooms are spacious and have their own private toilet, though bathrooms are shared with other guests. Delicious porridge is provided each morning, adding a warm touch. A washing machine is also available (600 yen) for extended stays. Located within a local wet market, the hostel offers a quiet and authentic local atmosphere, offering an ideal combination of convenience and comfort.

It's a 6-minute walk from Demachiyanagi Station, and there are convenience stores and supermarkets nearby, so it's a good location. There is a kitchen in the shared space on the second floor, which is very convenient for those who want to cook for themselves. There are also free drinks, manga, and books. The third floor is a dormitory space, and it is air-conditioned and clean, but in the case of mixed-gender accommodation, the upper bunk beds are not completely separated, so there is no privacy, which is a bit tough, especially for women. The lower bunk beds have curtains that can be closed, so I think they're fine... There are showers and toilets on both the second and third floors. It's good when it's not crowded, but if it's crowded, it may be a hassle to wait in line. There is a curfew, and you can't go out until 6:00 in the morning, so it may be a bit inconvenient for those who want to go out early in the morning.

I really liked the guesthouse. The beds are clean, there are many showers available 24h and a kitchen. Pretty standard guesthouse in Japan I would say. The only thing is that it is a bit far from the center. It is about a 30-40 min walk from Kyoto station and another 20-30 min walk from the shopping district Karawamachi/Teramachi. Buses are pretty efficient and quick and it is right next to the Kyomizu temple district though.I would probably stay there again.

KKyoto GodFUGA STAY, true to the meaning of its name “fuga” (elegance and serenity), is a refined and peaceful hideaway tucked within the heart of Kyoto. I personally love hotels that are hidden away from the main road yet still extremely convenient—just a 3 to 5-minute walk from Omiya Subway Station and numerous Kyoto city bus stops. If you’re into cycling or using e-scooters, there’s a Luup rental station right in front of the hotel. The room is spacious and very comfortable for a solo traveler. It comes with two double beds that you can easily move together to form a super king-size bed. The bathroom is also large, with no sense of tightness. The front desk staff speaks Japanese and Chinese, so communication is smooth and easy. Honestly, I’m hesitant to praise FUGA too much—if too many people discover it, the price might go up! P.S. Just around the corner is Tendō Shrine, only a 2-minute walk away. It felt like a beautiful encounter by fate.

GGuest UserThe boss will make free breakfast every morning and provide it from 7:00 to 9:00. Then the boss also has a bathhouse. If the guests staying here want to go, he will take them there for free at 9 o'clock every night and bring them back at 10 o'clock. Chai Chai It’s so cute, all I can say is that I love it so much 😭 I highly recommend it!

GGuest UserThis hotel is a 20-minute drive from Kyoto Station, and with a bus stop right outside, it's super convenient for getting around. The room was quite spacious, the bed was very comfortable, and all the facilities were great. I especially loved the small open-plan kitchen! It was fantastic to be able to buy groceries from the LIFE supermarket across the street and cook simple meals. All the pots, pans, and utensils were conveniently located under the cabinet, and cleaning up afterward was a breeze.

LLeben.WanThe hotel's facilities are quite good, though the only minor drawback might be the poor soundproofing. There's a bus stop right in front of the hotel, offering convenient access to major attractions in Kyoto. The subway station is about a 20-minute walk away. As for the amenities, the hotel is well-equipped with individual shower rooms and toilets on each floor. The washing machine and lounge area are located on the fifth floor. Please note that the hotel does not have an elevator. If you have large luggage, you can inform the front desk to arrange a room on a lower floor.

EElena KrasnoslobodtsevaOnce again, Japan surprises with its remarkable comfort, impeccable cleanliness, and high level of service. I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Everything was thoughtfully and organized down to the last detail. The soundproofing in the bedroom was perfect—I got a great night's sleep. And the morning started with a cup of matcha latte/coffee/cocoa, which you can enjoy in the lounge area. I also think the hostel's location is very convenient!

DDarrylAs a solo traveler, I highly recommend this hostel for its exceptional quality and value. I stayed in a private room for just one night, but the experience was memorable. The location is convenient, with easy access to transportation and nearby attractions, although it’s not the most centrally located spot in Kyoto. What truly stood out was the service—staff members were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and eager to help with any needs or questions. The amenities were also top-notch, including clean and comfortable facilities, well-maintained common areas, and thoughtful extras that made my stay even more enjoyable. If I ever return to Kyoto, I wouldn’t hesitate to choose this hostel again. It’s a perfect option for solo travelers looking for comfort, convenience, and excellent service.

GGuest UserIt's similar to a Japanese economy hotel. It's quite small. It's very close to JR Nijo Station, and you can see it when you get out of the station. It is also very close to the subway station. There is a bakery, restaurant, and convenience store at the door, which is super convenient. This station is also beautiful, with cherry trees at the entrance of the station. Close to Nijo Castle, about 10 minutes on foot to Nijo Castle.

GGuest UserMy mother and I had a very comfy stay at this traditional Kyoto home in a residential area (FYI, the private rooms are on the upper floor. The staircase will be very treacherous.) The team was great and explained everything in detail. I appreciated that they took my mother's suitcase up as I followed behind. I liked the local neighborhood feeling compared to the buzzy central area, but you will need to take a bus from across the street to get anywhere before hopping on any train. Btw there was no shortage of places to eat in the neighborhood. (The 93 bus is convenient from the hostel because it will drop you off at the entrance of the Arashiyama bamboo grove.) I would stay at this location again.
