I didn't have high expectations initially, but it turned out to be great and brought many pleasant surprises. If I come back to Osaka, I would definitely choose this hostel again. It has a really nice environment.

Staying for one night, I was able to sleep soundly until morning even in a 20-person female dorm. The bathroom and toilet are separate, so you rarely have to wait to use them. Breakfast is from 7:00 AM to 9:30 AM, consisting of two slices of bread, two slices of ham, and a scoop of egg salad. Afternoon tea is available from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM, perfect for a drink after a shower.

We have stayed here twice already, and we find it very impressive for someone who doesn't like crowded areas. While the location itself isn’t particularly attractive or charming, it’s conveniently close to many interesting places. The cleanliness of the hostel was truly impressive, and the shared kitchen was nice and tidy. We believe this is a stylish hostel that fits our budget and is more appealing than other hotels in the same price range. :)

It's with out Aircon and without fan. Bath only from 5 to 9 pm on a shared bathroom (like with no curtains or anything). Night were too hot without even a fan, the walls were dirty and the window a bit broken. For the same money in the neighborhood you get better places. Is just acceptable and cheap. You get what you pay for. If I was to be back there, I would go with my own fan at least

Was a good hostel with comfy beds and plenty of room. Common area is spacious with cooking appliances which is good. Staff are so so lovely! I read many reviews about the train running across it but do not take these lightly!! I’m pretty good at sleeping through snoring, parties etc but the train is so insanely loud and the entire hostel shakes. I would sleep solidly from 12-5 then wake up every couple of minutes as the trains started again.

The lobby is absolutely gorgeous, with its floor-to-ceiling windows creating a beautiful and spacious atmosphere. It genuinely feels like a stylish coffee shop. I was thrilled to have the entire room to myself! The space is clean, comfortable, and offers a wonderful sense of freedom. An added bonus was meeting fellow travelers from various countries. Truly exceptional value for money! 👍

The room is relatively large in the capsule hotel. You can put your suitcase in it. Each bed has a TV, headphones, and a ventilation fan. The public area is also OK. There is a place for eating and heating meals on each floor, which is suitable for traveling alone. The downside is that the mattress is thin, it is hard to sleep on, and the ventilation fan is noisy. These are not a big deal. The biggest problem of living in a capsule hotel is still the noise. The noise of the people in the next bed packing up and washing at different times will have a great impact. People who sleep lightly are better off choosing a hotel.

Amazing hostel! Very clean, nice staff. Free WiFi ! Was surprised by the fridge and whole kitchen free to use for those who stay. When you are not a tourist and need a place to stay and save up some money by ”cooking at home” it is sooooo handy! Also, loved the design of the place. My only concern was a horribly hard pillow, and even tho I have stayed only for 3 nights - my neck hurt like no joke. Of course, someone may like it, but for me it was a nightmare. Other than that - have nothing to brag about! Highly recommend.

RRowell SantiagoI recently stayed at Hotel Cargo Shinsaibashi during my trip to Osaka, and I was pleasantly surprised by the comfort and quality packed into this compact, capsule-style accommodation. One of the biggest highlights of my stay was the toilet and bathroom area — exceptionally clean, modern, and cozy. Despite being a shared facility, everything was spotless and well-maintained at all times. The design was sleek, and the space felt more like a boutique hotel than a budget capsule. The toilets are equipped with Japan’s signature high-tech bidet functions, and the overall cleanliness really exceeded my expectations. Even the subtle lighting and warm wood tones added to the relaxing feel every time I used the bathroom. The rest of the hotel was equally impressive. The capsules were comfortable, quiet, and felt more private than I expected. The lounge area was a nice place to relax or do a bit of planning for the day. Plus, the location is perfect — just a short walk from Shinsaibashi shopping street and a quick train ride to most Osaka hotspots. If you’re looking for a well-designed, clean, and cozy place to stay in Osaka, I highly recommend Hotel Cargo Shinsaibashi. Especially if you value hygiene and comfort in shared facilities, this hotel delivers above and beyond.

DDarinDarwishThis was not my first hostel experience, and I have to say, I was a bit disappointed. Let’s start with the positive aspects first: The location was absolutely perfect — I don’t think you could find a better place to stay in Namba. Everything was close by, and getting around was very easy. Also, the staff were extremely, extremely friendly, and we received fresh towels every day, which I really appreciated. Now, onto the things that bothered me: First, the cleanliness: It wasn’t really clean. In the showers, there was always a lot of hair and dirt in the gaps where you enter and exit, which was quite unpleasant. During my stay, someone vomited in the public sink area, and it was not cleaned up overnight — it was still there even at 10 a.m. the next morning. Because of that, the house smelled strongly of vomit for a while. That night, and in general, there was often an unpleasant smell in the kitchen area as well. Without wanting to discriminate, I noticed that many older people were staying at the hostel (since apparently there was no age restriction). Some of them would loudly clear their throats and spit phlegm into the sinks, even early in the morning, which was quite disturbing and unhygienic. Another issue was the temperature: The room was extremely hot at night, and since so many people were sleeping in one room, the air became very stuffy. Even inside your capsule, it was uncomfortably warm. One last point: On the day of arrival, the address on Trip.com was wrong, which made it very hard to find the hostel. It took me almost an hour and a half to find it, especially because it was very hidden with no clear signage outside. I really hope that in the future, there will also be an age limit for guests.

MM230154****Facilities: Average, just barely adequate. Hygiene: Not bad, Japan is generally good in this regard. Environment: Honestly speechless. This capsule hotel shares a name with another, and I walked my legs off trying to find it! Service: Alright, but no Chinese-speaking staff. Couldn't be helped during the National Day holiday, it was barely acceptable. The good thing is that it's conveniently located inside the airport.

GGuest UserI had a really great time here at Casa G.S. Everything was way beyond my expectations. In terms of location, it took me only 5 mins on foot to reach Osakako train station, Chuo Line. With your luggage, you may chose to walk up stairs or take an elevator to and down the train station. You can also visit the nearby shopping mall (Tempozan Market Place) which is located near a beautiful bay, Osaka Aquarium Kaiyuka, and a big ferris wheel. A local bus stop is around 3 minutes away. Tax-free shops, Japanese restaurants, convenience stores (Lawson, 7-11, Family Mart) can easily be reached in the area. For room condition, fortunately I believe the place has been renovated for less than one year, so everything is very nice and clean. I stayed with my parents for 4 nights. The beds were hygienic and comfortable which was a plus to when you were exhausted after long walking days. It has all the necessities you can ever think of such as refrigerator, power socket, adapter, air-con, wet wipes and amenities. The check-in/out, door-lock, and entry systems require no staff or any unlocking devices/tools to pass which were very convenient and secure. An elevator is in place. This is crucial! The lobby has a luggage storage area (free of charge) and a pantry where you can borrow or use necessary kitchenware. Its bathroom may not be that spacious, but very clean and good enough for a short stay. For those considering this place and making decisions, I do highly recommend with this reasonable price offered. คนไทยที่กำลังตัดสินใจอยู่ บอกเลยที่นี่นอนสบายมากครับ เตียงนุ่ม สะดวกและคุ้มค่ามากครับ ประทับใจสุดๆ

AAmanzhol YestekovLocals don’t usually come here to sleep — they come to wash, relax, and go through the full spa ritual. There are three types of steam rooms, a circular shower, and three baths: two hot ones at around 41°C, and one cold shock bath at around 11°C. You dip in and instantly feel alive. One unique feature — every hour they run a group steam ritual, like a collective massage & heat therapy session. Very Japanese, and surprisingly affordable. Definitely worth trying. There’s also an inexpensive breakfast option, plus vending machines with food and drinks right inside — very convenient. Overall, it’s a men-only vibe: arrive, clean up, relax, reset, and go about your day. The capsule is just a bonus on top of the sauna experience. They give you clothing — not a robe, but loose Japanese pants and an oversized T-shirt. You get your own locker, bedding and clothes are changed daily, and the bathrooms have literally everything: toothbrush, toothpaste, gels, shampoo… even nail clippers. You don’t need to bring anything. Location is fantastic — right next to Dotonbori. Step outside and you’re instantly in the heart of Osaka’s nightlife and energy. Downsides? A strict checkout — you must leave at 10:00 AM, and check-in starts only after 3:00 PM. If you want to stay during that gap, it’s around 300 yen per hour, or ~900 yen for the day. Still — great experience. I always wanted to try a real Japanese capsule stay. Inside the capsule there’s a TV, radio, adjustable lights, and AC — though it blasts pretty strongly, so I turned it off.

AAlexandraKIts a little bit of a fumble to check in, theres a tablet and you need your passport and to enter a lot of personal info. After that all is well. Be warned larger suitcases will not be able to go into lockers, and you cant take them into your rooms. Some of the lockers are on the 1st floor where people come in. So be prepared for the tight squeeze as theres a lot of suitcases around and some people have to come down to remove things from their suitcases. I was lucky enough to be on 3rd floor women’s floor where my locker also was so I felt more comfortable and safer storing everything close to where I slept. The showers are also on the 1st floor so you cant walk around with a towel 🤣. There are signs on etiquette for other travelers so everything in the shower is clean except the communal sink area. I saw so much trash overflowing and women's hair left on the side of the sink 🤮. But that's something that can only be rectified by manners of people. There's face masks, toothbrushes and paste and bath towels provided also pyjamas. So if you want to save on suitcase space dont bring any. Beds are comfortable and clean. And the rooms are spacious enough. You do have to make up the bed for yourself which is easy enough. I think doing this ensures no one has slept in your bed and the sheets are clean as you can see they're neatly folded by staff. The location is close to Namba City and about 10 mins walk. Just make sure you exit at the right place to avoid the crowds especially at night.
