We had a great stay! Front desk was friendly and helpful. The rooms and the place was clean. We arrived at the start of winter season, not too many guests so we had the place almost to ourselves. The amenities was great, they had a lot of DVDs for entertainment, and the common kitchen was clean and well maintained. We also ate at the cafe which was delicious. The location was walking distance to the groceries, the tourist information center and other eateries. Overall a great stay!

GGuest UserIch war schon im letzten Jahr in dem Motel und es hat uns gut gefallen. Die Inhaber sind sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Deshalb bin ich in diesem Jahr wieder hin und ich kann nur sagen, freundlich ist noch nicht übertrieben. Dieses Jahr alleine und in der Hütte untergebracht mit gemeinsamen Wasch/ und Duschgelegenheit. Hat vollkommen ausgereicht.
Wurde vom Motel zum Startplatz des Tongariro gebracht und am Ende wieder abgeholt. Einfach nur super! Ich bin über 75 Jahre und ich spreche nur schlecht englisch. Aber die Inhaberin hat mir unter den Gästen einen Familie aus Deutschland vermittelt, die übersetzt hat. Super! Ein Einsatz der nur gelobt werden kann.

GGuest UserWe travelled to Taihape for one of my sisters funerals and upon waking up in the morning we discovered that there was no hot water in our room, or for that matter in the whole block of rooms. Because of this we weren't able to shower before leaving the hotel.
The Owners/Managers were made aware of the situation and they discovered that the hot water cylinders for the block had ruptured.
No alternative or compensation was offered.
Very disappointing as we paid full price of $162 for our room for one night.
Will never stay there again and will not recommend it to anyone.

The cooking facilities are well equipped, so it is convenient.
Clean and comfortable bedding.
Good Wi-Fi as well.
If you ever need to stay in Palmerston North, Fitzroy Motel is a great choice.

RRobertI stopped here just because I was tired of driving. There are a bunch of restaurants around and a supermarket, so in that sense, the location is good, but I don't think there is much interesting in the proximity.
The room was great: very clean, spacious, the shower was clean and the towels smelled fresh. Even the shampoo, conditioner and bodywash were very nice, not like the regular cheap stuff you get. So all in all a great place to have a rest.

GGuest UserBig spaced and one bedroom, check in was smooth. Very much enjoyed our stay, did regret not booking another night while in the region. Definitely will be staying here again when we pass through Palmerston North. So close to the town centre within walking distance to super market, takeaways and the town Mall. Love it. Comfortable beds and smelt clean 🙂

AAnonymous UserGreat hosts, upgraded us to a very spacious unit with our own laundry which was much appreciated after a week on the road. Very clean, comfortable and quiet. I took Neil's advice and went for a walk around the nearby gardens and finished with an icecream from the service station. Fabulous! Would definitely stay again.

AAnonymous UserNice Kiwi motel. Actually I really appreciated it because it was super clean. Quite tidy, very good hot shower and nice location by the river with an easy 10 min walk to town. Comfortable bed, very clean sheets & bedding. TV was a bit old & limited channels but no time for watching TV. Would definitely stay again.

The hosts were so friendly and welcoming and there were lovely personal touches such as fudge on arrival - very thoughtful. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.
