GGuest UserThis is my second time visiting Jinxiu Xiangjiang. I've pretty much stayed at all the highly-rated hotels in the Baishuizhai area. Jinxiu Xiangjiang is the only one that offers rafting and is pet-friendly, which is why I chose it again for this trip with my parents. Our check-in experience started off a bit unpleasant. For two rooms costing over 1,000 RMB each (totaling more than 2,000 RMB), we were assigned tiny rooms, only about 10 square meters each, located at the entrance of a villa. It felt like they had converted a study or storage room into a bedroom. The villa didn't even have a private pool, and the private hot spring was covered in fallen leaves, looking quite desolate. Not to mention the wear and tear on the furniture in the rooms themselves. This is the downside of villa rooms: the configurations and amenities vary significantly. To ensure a better stay, I paid significantly more by booking through Ctrip compared to other channels, only to be assigned the smallest and worst rooms. Fortunately, after I complained, Ctrip's customer service and the hotel manager were very helpful and quickly upgraded us to rooms in the main building. Their response was quite prompt.
**Facilities:** The hotel itself is a bit dated, and the ostentatious gold decor is quite a turn-off. However, the extensive facilities are great for a family trip: there are many herbal pools that seniors enjoy, and water slides and a wave pool that kids love. They also have a pet park, an adventure playground, horseback riding, and in the evenings, there are campfires and fireworks. Coupled with the Dafengmen rafting and via ferrata, it offers incredible value for money.
**Important Note:** Dafengmen rafting is available from 11 AM or 12 PM until 3:30 PM, not all day, so plan your itinerary accordingly. Pets are not allowed on the rafting, but they can enter the scenic area. The reservoir is currently under maintenance, causing heavy traffic, so it's best to go rafting in the morning. For accommodation, if you prefer a more reliable stay and don't want to leave it to chance, opt for rooms in the main building.
**Double German-themed Buffet Dinner or Set Meal:** The buffet has slightly improved since my last visit, with the freshly baked waffles at dinner being a nice addition. For breakfast, they've added more food stations in the lobby area to help manage queues and distribute food options. The restaurant itself is small and has limitations, but it's clear the hotel is making efforts to optimize and improve things.
