Hotel Gran Palma Paracas

Recomendado.

I feel like this would have been a better experience if I spoke more fluent Spanish. The staff is trying but the language barrier is a bigger issue here than at other places I stayed in Cusco and Lima. The main indoor restaurant is fine for breakfast but at dinner time the lighting is harsh … like a high school cafeteria. We chose to eat at the poolside grill outside. Awesome pizza oven there. I was presented with a menu while laying at the beach but no one came to take my order. Had to go to the bar to get service. My drink was nice (chilcano) and the tequenos were delicious. We stayed here on a weekend and the resort had more families with kids than I’d seen anywhere else we stayed during our trip to Peru. Maybe it’s a weekend vacation for local families? Most rooms have a view of the ocean but the balconies have tall cement walls so you can’t sit on your balcony to enjoy the view. Very weird. There is a sand area built up between the pool and the ocean. But if you decide to walk into the ocean or kayak or whatever, you will have to walk on rocks. Real beaches here are rocky.
