We thought we were getting a room but got an apar**ent. Didn't need or use the extra space. The bed was clean and comfortable and bathroom modern and clean. The over bath shower had no curtain so difficult not to soak the bathroom. The soft furnishings could do with a deep clean - dust at curtain tops and suspect stains on chairs. The breakfast was plentiful but expensive. Expensive for standard, but location good.

The Hotel is in a great location and has an amazing sea views and a short walk to the town centre. Parking was adequate and onsite with an overflow car park just over the road. The bar has a nice seating area and we ate in the hotel restaurant one evening which was OK. We had a nice room with a lovely bay window with armchairs to enjoy the sea views. We expected a more spacious room considering that we had booked a Deluxe room. There were no coat hooks anywhere in the room and very limited hanging space. The only full length mirror in the room was covered by the hanging clothes space! The bathroom was nice but rather small, again not a Deluxe size. The shower head was above the jacuzzi bath but the controls for the shower were not reachable from the bath. You had to get out of the bath to turn off the shower. The bathroom did not have any hooks either and only one small towel rail. If we could have hung our towels to air and dry we would not have needed to change them so often. Breakfast was a bit shambolic! No one to greet you when you arrived or even take your room number! We had to ask for tea and toast. The staff did not seem to be attentive or even knew who had arrived down for breakfast. Tables were not cleared promptly and then only partly laid with always something missing. There was a limited selection of fresh fruit and yoghurt and limited choice of eggs, plenty of fried eggs but scrambled was not routinely replenished when it was finished. The same applied to the pastries. The staff were generally friendly and helpful although seemed inexperienced and unprofessional.

A very nice stay, we had the deluxe room and the view was amazing. Clean room, clean sheets. Nothing to right home about but was a very nice stay. We did get woken up at 5am on the sunday (The day we were leaving) by a fire alarm but this was most probably out of the hotels control and it was turned off within 10 minutes or so. Other than that no complaints!

Overall an odd experience at the Marine Hotel. We have stayed at The Marine several times in the past, we have always requested a Deluxe Double room and that is what we did again on a Bank Holiday Weekend in May. Our room (224) was nowhere near the standard we were used to at this Hotel, it looked small, tired, even shabby. If it wasn't for the view, then i probably would've complained. My partner had a Jacuzzi Bath on the afternoon of our arrival, when she emptied the bath, the tub was full of Sand, at that point we hadn't been anywhere near the beach so knew the sand must've been left in the Jacuzzi Jets from previous guests. My partner is Housekeeping Manager at a small Hotel in Shropshire and knows that these jets should be cleaned daily, and that obviously they had not been. This meant that i didnt feel comfortable having a bath myself, instead having to have a wash over the tiny sink. On our departure day, the reception was locked and nobody was available for checkout, so we decided to try and find the Breakfast Room, which was not in the same place as we remembered. We had not been informed of Breakfast times on arrival so we just hoped it would be open at 7:30. (Normally we would've had a longer lie-in on a Bank Holiday but had been woken at 4am by a Helicopter carrying out a search across the beach, so we just wanted to get going. There was nobody available at Breakfast to greet us, so my partner helped herself to the Buffet, which very surprisingly didnt include any kind of bread or toast, but for some unknown reason did include Nutella spread! What was this supposed to be spread upon?? No Toast? Breakfast was a shambles, i refused to eat anything and we tried to check out again. Reception was still locked, but we could hear someone behind the shutter, so we handed them our Key and made a hasty retreat. Not sure if The Marine is under new management, but something was obviously a miss during this visit. Overall a very disappointing stay at a Hotel we did both love up until this visit. We stay in Aber 4 or 5 times a year and may now need to find a new base for our adventures.

£90 a night for this standard and state of room..not what i would expect gor such a high price. Other room may be better, but room 335 is totally not worth the rate what so ever

I also chose the hotel to stay at when I go to uni As I travel with family its really accommodating. Food is fab, the chef stayed a little longer even though they were meant to leave 7.30pm for me to get food either the family but not feel rushed. The staff in the bar and breakfast ( blonde girl and tall guy) are always so kind amd accommodating. Staff on reception are always friendly and it's always so cosy and clean. The rooms are dated and there are faulty bits here.and there but it is overlooked easily by the accommodating style from everyone, views of the seafront and extra biscuits from the cleaning staff. Lastly the pillows are so nice but the mattresses are a stuggle for me personally due to back issues. All in all I've got to say you must try it to believe it. Reminds me of faulty towers minus the faults as such. Thanks all we will be back soon Diolch
