We had a fantastic stop over in Abu Dhabi staying at the Shangri-La. The staff were friendly and the hotel was just what we needed. I would recommend the Shangri-La again for others looking to stay.

Gorgeous, gorgeous! The Shangri La chain never disappoints us. We stayed in the Qaryat Al Beri located on Yas Island (the other one is downtown). A beautiful large lobby in a classic symmetrical layout, the end of which spills over onto the balcony/terrace. It’s not that big, but the view onto the creek and Grand Mosque is wonderful. The level below is the infinity pool onto the creek with bar and sun loungers and to the right is a little man-made beach.
ROOM
Our room consisted of a large bedroom, balcony, office, dressing room, separate toilet (with toilet douche of course), separate shower room and bathroom: all in perfect circular Feng Sui as you’d expect from this Chinese hotel chain. Room had all the 5 star amenities and a full fledged minibar (crisps, chocolate cookies, nuts, local dates and various alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages). The balcony was spacious and sufficiently tucked in out of the sun. We got the room with the view onto the Grand Mosque!
SERVICE
Excellent service as we know: the concierge went the extra mile helping me find my phone charger which they eventually found left behind in the room after checkout.
FOOD
Bar, buffet restaurant, room service: the whole lot. We didn’t have the breakfast as we woke up late: around midday we sat on the lobby balcony eating pizza and pastry from the bar menu.
LOCATION
Yas Island has strips of resort hotels of which Shangri La is one. There is a ‘soukh’ mini local mall a stone throw away but we stayed out and relaxed in the hotel’s public areas

Wonderful weekend break and lots to help with relaxing and beach walk.
If you are not a VIP, the services at the Hoi An restaurant and the longe are bit slow, i.e. I had to ask for my order to be taken 20 mins after getting the menu or get up from my table to ask for a drink as I was abandoned as soon as my food was served.
Berna at reception was incredible professional, helpful and friendly.
The rooms were great, spacious, clean and comfortable. Nice balcony and decor in general.
The gondola, sunset view of the pool and the view of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque were my favourite memories.

The staff were helpful and friendly and accommodated all our requests. The location and beach were excellent. The rooms are a little dated but overall would definitely recommend.

When checking in, I happened to meet a Chinese lady. After several pleasant communications, I was upgraded to a special suite. The room was perfect in every aspect, and the service was neither humble nor overbearing, just right. A few small regrets, the only place within walking distance seems to be the souk, which has a small supermarket and some small shops. The scale is not large, and most of them are closed. The overall shopping is not high. It is also possible that our strategy is not detailed. The service in the executive lounge is very good, but there are not many varieties. The same problem exists in breakfast. It is recommended to stay.

I chose Shangri-La as my two-day stay during my trip to Abu Dhabi. As a first-class international hotel brand, I have never been disappointed after staying there so many times, and this time is no exception.
It was almost late when we arrived, and the guy who checked in was very enthusiastic, so the whole check-in process was a bit lengthy. However, I asked for a data cable and water at the front desk and got a quick answer.
It seems that the room has been upgraded. I was given a balcony view room on the first floor. There is a swimming pool and artificial beach right outside. The view is quite good. The room is really big. The decoration is typical Shangri-La + Middle Eastern style. The facilities are really good. It's so old, it doesn't even have a USB charging port. I even asked at the front desk if there was a wireless charging device. I really overthought it. The charging ports are a little far away from the bedside table. It's too quaint. The bathroom is very big. The shower/bath/toilet/washing table are relatively scattered; the cloakroom is connected to the study in the corner. The entire room has a square layout and a circular circulation.
There is a turndown service at night, which is very warm. Although it is not much, at least it is being done; the cleaning and replenishment of supplies are also done in a timely manner the next day, keeping the room clean and tidy, making the stay very comfortable.
There is a Chinese lady at the front desk, so you don't have to worry about language communication problems and you can stay here with peace of mind.
However, the surrounding transportation is not very convenient. Basically, you can only rely on the taxis waiting at the door, and it is far away from the scenic spots and recreation areas, so it is suitable for self-driving or vacation friends.

The front desk service was excellent. The room was amazing. It was completely beyond my expectations. I upgraded to a suite. The mosque and the beach are right outside the window. The sacred and peaceful unbeatable view is a perfect experience.

Our family of three stayed in Dubai and Abu Dhabi for 9 days, staying in 4 hotels in total, including 4 days in this hotel. I want to say that this is the hotel where I feel the worst! ! !
The hotel facilities are relatively old, and there is no special children's play area. This is not a big problem, the biggest problem is discrimination against Chinese people! ! !
1. The first thing: When having breakfast on the first day, my daughter saw that there was a swimming pool outside, and there were people sitting outside the restaurant, so she also wanted to sit outside the restaurant. Then we chose a table slightly closer to the pool. We first asked if we could sit outside, and a Middle Eastern waiter said yes, and took the initiative to help us wipe the table. Then we went to pick up the food. After picking up the food, another waiter (blindly guessed that he was Indian) came over and said that we couldn't sit here, this was the area responsible for the swimming pool, and we needed to sit back in the restaurant area. We said okay, abide by the restaurant rules, and sat back immediately. [Let me explain here. The restaurant has two rows of tables outside and two rows of tables at the swimming pool. The table we chose was the third row from the outdoor tables of the restaurant, that is, the area next to the restaurant]
While we were eating, no one asked us what coffee we wanted [generally, people abroad will ask you what you want to drink]. At this time, four foreigners came and sat at the same table in the same row as the table in the swimming pool area that we had selected before. Then the waiter who told us that we could not sit at this table was attentive to serve them tea and water, wipe the table, and took the initiative to help the four foreigners choose dishes from the self-service selection area to their table, one trip after another.
Because we have driven to more than 10 countries by ourselves, we know that this is obvious discrimination, so we were very angry, especially my husband.
My husband called the waiter over and asked why we could not sit there, but others could. The waiter said the same old thing: That is the swimming pool area, we can't sit there. We said we can not sit there, no problem, but why can others, please explain, he couldn't say why, so we went to find his manager.
The manager also couldn’t say anything, except: (1) kept apologizing to us and (2) told us that we could sit wherever we wanted. I said it wasn’t a question of where to sit, we could sit anywhere, but we just needed an explanation as to why we weren’t treated equally. I said it was because we were from different countries, because we were Chinese, right? So discrimination? [This word is a very serious word in foreign countries]. He said no, and apologized, but in the end he didn’t give us an explanation.
The second thing: Every day a waiter would come to our table to ask for our room number, but he would not ask the white people sitting at the tables next to us.
The third point: The manager of the breakfast restaurant was dressed in a suit, which was different from the waiters. The manager only served white people attentively and never asked about us. I remember on the third day, I wanted to have a cup of coffee, but no one came to take care of me. I waited for a long time and had no choice but to go to the coffee machine to make a cup myself [in better restaurants abroad, you need to raise your hand]. At this time, the restaurant manager who had not appeared at our table for a long time appeared and was very unhappy. He said, "Madam, just tell me if you need anything, please return to your seat." I said that because no one cared about me, they all went to serve white people! ! !
Really, we had breakfast in this hotel for 4 days, and because the baby was small and ate slowly, we would spend an hour in the restaurant every day. The hotel manager really never cared about us and only served white people! ! ! [Not only did he not serve us, but he also did not serve other Chinese people] This was our observation and personal experience in the four mornings, so this hotel really discriminated against Chinese people very seriously. I gave him two hearts because after all, there were some patient and enthusiastic Middle Eastern waiters who were very good to my daughter.
I think it's amazing, because there are many Chinese staying in Shangri-La, Shangri-La should feel friendly to Chinese people, after all, it earns Chinese money! However, this hotel earns Chinese money to discriminate against us Chinese.
In addition, I want to say that in my many years of overseas experience, if you feel discriminated against, then he is really discriminating against you, you are not an illusion. When we encounter discrimination against Chinese people, we must speak out loudly, without making a fuss, and give a reasonable explanation! !
Finally, Shangri-La will be black for life!

If you stay in Abu Dhabi, it's definitely Shangri-La.
The desert tour is 45 minutes away, and Yas Island is 20 minutes away.
The food is delicious and friendly.
What made our trip even more enjoyable was meeting RaJ as a housekeeper.
We received a clean cleaning service.
I want to visit again.

The service quality of this hotel is impressive, and everything from check-in to check-out was very smooth. The room was clean and tidy, the bedding was comfortable, and the bathroom facilities were complete. It is very cost-effective and I will come again next time!
