Cactus Creek Ghana Hotel

Cactus is a nice place. I discovered it in 2023 sometime and stay here regularly. The rooms are modern, clean and their food is good. However, when their kitchen isn’t in the mood to make something you’re willing to pay they’ll tell you they won’t do it because “they’re busy.” In this case, I wanted pancakes at breakfast. Otherwise, their team is generally polite and attentive and occasionally you’ll see the owner who comes by to find out how things are going. Sam A.

Didn’t have the opportunity to stay too long. Came for a day visit. The hotel sits on a steep hill. Beautiful views, and adequate seating space to see those views. Beautiful landscaping. Really lush and full. I went when they had a DJ and that really clashed with the peace that the space could really give. We tried to sit a bit far away from the music but you could still hear it. The space also needs guardrails to help you steady yourself as you walk on the steep inclines. I could not bring kids or older people to the hotel, for example, because of this. The road is really good until you get about 2-5 minutes from the property. If you have small car and visit during the rainy season, Eg., I’m concerned you may get stuck. *howver*, it looks like there is active construction of the road occurring, so great sign. :)

Absolutely gem in Aburi!! Breathtaking views of the mountains and greenery at this hotel, the very best calm getaway you can find in aburi!!! We stayed here with the whole family - and did not want to leave. We swam, ate and sat outside to enjoy the views (Definitely recommend the spring rolls, jollof and black star) I loved that the pool overlooked the hillside, and the poolside bar of course!! The staff were very welcoming. The hotel itself is beautiful with a very thoughtful Ghanaian flair in all the rooms. A must stay!!!

Superior experience. The set up is great and very cozy. A lot of board games are available. Good food in a serene environment. Good service. Highly recommended. Definitely worth a trip up the mountains. Michael Gyapah

The server who received us was very welcoming and polite, which pleased me very well. We were immediately provided with a menu after asking which services we were there for because it’s a hotel and a restaurant so I understood the question. I immediately knew what to order as the menu was very readable and easy to navigate through, so I had assorted jollof rice with goat meat and green pepper sauce and my friend had assorted fried rice with goat meat and green pepper sauce also. Our order didn’t take long to be served maybe because we were the only customers then. With about 80 cedis you can get a plate of food in a good quantity. The ambience is perfect with the mountainous weather and looking down little houses down the hill. Watching over the new sites springing up, the yellow buildings adds their unique beauty to it also. Personally, I think the design is beautiful with the transparent blue glass window at the reception area, their bicycle-like seats, the polished wooden seats under the summer hut shade. All come together in harmony to light up the place.

Can honestly say the service received from the moment we checked in, to the first wander up to the Exec Room was just brilliant. The hotel is fabulous, the staff wonderful, the choice and quality of food served excellent and our suite had the most amazing views Aburi lush greens. Thoroughly impressed with every detail and will not hesitate to return next time I am in Ghana,! The hotel is located in a scenic area and was very nice place to unwind from stress however there were some things that the management team needs to urgently rectify. Upon arrival, the hotel manager informed us that they were no longer affiliated to ******* whom we booked and paid the hotel to. You can imagine what was going through my mind as I had paid a huge significant amount of money to *******. Fortunately Mandy the manager was helpful in reassuring us that all will be sorted out. My concern was that the hotel confirmed we were not the only guests this mishap had happened to so my question was why have they not contacted ******* to stop them from advertising and taking payments for their hotel on their website? What if there was no more rooms available upon our arrival? For the price we were paying each night, you would expect more variety in the breakfast menu but unfortunately it was only eggs, sausage, hot drinks and oats. Water had to be bought with the breakfast if you desired it. I had the same food (milo /tea, bread, sausage and eggs) for the 5 out of the 6 days I was there and to be honest, it was disappointing. There was a day we requested breakfast for 7am but when we arrived for breakfast, the food was not yet prepared. We had dinner on one of the nights at the hotel and was disappointed by the boney chicken given us. The quality and size of the food we got was not up to expectation considering the cost. Aside from this, the staff are very helpful
