The staff was friendly and the room was clean. The location was great with a view of the river from the room. The sound of the river was very loud, so if you are bothered by the sound, you may want to change the location of your room. It is a little far from the center, but it is not inconvenient. However, if you bring a suitcase, it is better to request a shuttle service.

The front desk staff were excellent and helpful, and they connected us to a great guide who helped us with getting tickets to Machu Picchu, getting on bus, etc. Wonderful balcony right on the river, room was basic but all we needed.

Edison met us at the train station and helped get our bags to the hotel. Gisela checked us in and when I asked about a clinic for my husband, she called a clinic and arranged for a doctor to come to the hotel because I looked like a deer in headlights and I was unable to navigate what was needed. The doctor knew exactly what my husband needed and provided immediate care. Within two hours my husband was much improved. On the day we were going to Machu Picchu, Edison was up and provided an early breakfast cooked by the kitchen staff. Ou room faced the river and it was spectacular. Should I ever return to Agus Calientes I would stay at Sanctuario Hotel, never looking for another hotel. Thank you to all the staff at Sanctuario.
