Aix-les-Bains Hotels with Bars

It seems to be an annex apartment of a star-level hotel. If you arrive at night, you need to check in at the next hotel. The location is not on the main road, but at the back of the row opposite the train station. There are microwaves, kettles, and coffee machines. Electric stove, boiling pan, refrigerator, but no frying pan, no condiments, comfortable bed, generally very good, there are very few food around, Annecy is too expensive, so it’s okay to live here and pass by.

The hotel is very comfortable and spacious, but with these ”standard” rooms (246 euros per night) we have no access to the pool (which is part of the relaxing Spa space). For €18 per day, access is possible from 19:30 to 23:00!!!! You need to take a few steps to get access to the pool. This information is not clear on the hotel site and if we had understood this details we would not have booked a room in this hotel, but in a cheaper hotel or we would have found the same comfort. Good breakfast but except for mistake pancakes and crepes are not home, disappointing ! A little disappointed despite all, and it would be interesting that the hotel gives the ”pool” information more clearly on their site, because we heard customers who experienced the same surprise!

I arrived on 13th September and stayed until 19th September and had a truly marvellous stay. Reception was very welcoming and staff very friendly and more than happy to speak English because regretfully I do not speak French, always smiling and greeting no matter what time of day you were in or out. The room was beautiful and very comfortable, lovely decor, and great facilities including air con shower superb and although it seemed to be open to the room it could actually be screened off, room was serviced every day complimentary water on first day of arrival plus tea making facility. My room had a nice view out towards the Alps and the hotel itself is very central to the main centre and to travel to other places so a great location. There is a swimming pool, spa, sauna and fitness room. Lovely small lounge downstairs behind reception with complimentary coffee. Would I stay at this hotel again, yes most definitely. Would I recommend this hotel - yes indeed without any hesitation. Thank you Urban Hotel and to all your Staff

Globalement bonne expérience… l’hôtel est grand, la partie spa et piscine vraiment sympa ! Je note 4 étoiles et non 5, pour la partie ridicule suivante : statut gold/platinum depuis de nombreuses années : - pas de surclassement à l’arrivée alors qu’il y avait des chambres supérieures disponibles - le bon boisson(pour membre silver et +) pour une seule personne, alors qu’il y a encore quelques mois c’était pour deux voir pour autant de personne qu’il y avait dans la chambre Et comble de tout, dans notre chambre de 3… une seule bouteille d’eau (petit format) dans l’espace froid, qui trônait seule, tel un trophée ! d’un ridicule … Il faut que Accor fasse quelque chose et vite! perso je n’ai plus d’intérêt de jongler entre le statut Gold et Platinum si les avantages sont néants.

Stay in 06/2023 - Opinion filed on 16/06/2023 The receptionist could not find our booking on arrival and required assistance. The hotel is rundown and shabby. Our room was dull, without an outllok. The air conditioning did not work. The sofa bed was so deformed, it was impossible to sleep on it and we had to put the (thin) mattress on the floor. The toilet room had no ventilation and stank of old urine. Parts fell off the shower when we used it and the drain was blocked so the water built up in the bath. There was mould around the bath. When we raised some of these issues with the reception, they said the hotel was fully booked. They did not offer any help. For a hotel described as ‘hotel d’elegance’ it was disgraceful and the advertising descriptions and pictures are deceptive

We stayed three nights in this wonderful hotel in a ‘Prestige’ room. We loved the decor and the facilities. We were even surprised and delighted to find a mini fridge and a kettle in the room! The hotel is an easy 5 minute walk into the town, with all its shops, bars and restaurants. The hotel breakfast was very good value at 12 euros per person. We also dined there twice - it’s a set menu which changes daily and is excellent value at only 20 euros per person. Free parking on site too. Finally I have to mention the staff. So attentive, friendly and helpful.

Breakfast is too simple

On arrival in the morning the poolside chairs were all taken... thankfully after lunch there was space to sit. The soin was a total deception. The scrub lasted maybe 10 minutes at most very minimalist with a five minute shower down and a bit of cream for hydration. Back to the poolside the sauna good but the hammam smelt of wet socks in the afternoon with no essential oils. There was one shower at the poolside for everyone to use in-between the sauna pool and hammam. The lunch we had to wait to be seated 15-20 minutes. The food portions were on the diet side. The restaurant was not refurbished since it's construction....the service could have come with a smile!! It was a great day out with my friends but will not be coming back to this spa.
