Impressive Kasbah located at the entrance of the lush Ourika Valley. We had a spacious room with terrace and views on the first floor, bedding a bit to hard to our taste. Owner and staff are very welcoming and make you feel at home. A good dinner is served in the main building next to the fireplace. We enjoyed the quiet environment and the friendly staff a lot.

Excellent service with Ahmad and reception. Very nice place to chill down and relax with an amazing pool to escape chaos (in a good way) from Marrakesh

We stayed here for Two nights in November and had the most amazing stay. All staff were so friendly and kind. The manager arranged a great trip for us on some Quad bikes and then to a potters house where we had lunch and made some pottery. The food in the hotel was delicious with a great variety of wines. We also had a Hammam which was certainly an experience! Never felt so clean! All in all a great stay in the mountains away from the madness of Marrakech. Highly recommend x

Kasbah Agounsane really is a beautiful place to stay. Very peaceful with some lovely suites. We had a small one that was very dark and only the small patio to see but I do know that there are some larger brighter ones there. It is exceptionally clean in the main areas and our room was made up one morning that we were there (we stayed 3 nights). The staff didnt remove glasses or bottle which I thought was strange but they changed towels. The pool area is lovely and very clean. There were several broken sunbeds and my partner's broke while he was lying on it so it would be nice to see broken ones removed/replaced. The gardens are tired and quite over grown but still nice and it really is lovely to be surrounded by such wonderful scenery. We had the pool to ourselves for most of the time - in fact for the first day and half we seemed to be the only people there. There is no service for drinks - you need to go upstairs to the hotel and wait for a member of staff to come out to you. There was hardly anyone working but we found out it was because staff were holiday themselves. However the staff available worked hard and were very friendly. We were half board which I would recommend for a 2 night stay but no longer it is very limited with only 4 or 5 mains to choose from - Im vegetarian and I had a pasta or a vegetable Tagine to choose from. I dont know if they had another menu for people not half board but if they do I would recommend that for choice or walk into the town as there looked to be some restaurants there. Again the same staff member usually served us in evenings too and he worked very hard and was very polite and helpful. It was my 50th birthday while we were there and my partner asked Secret Escapes to put in a special request for some flowers/champagne. He also emailed the hotel and sent them a messenger requesting the same - at a cost of course he just wanted some extras arranged to make the day special. He also mentioned it when we checked in. Unfortunately I didnt even get a "Happy Birthday" from them which was really disappointing for my partner who felt he had let me down. It really is the perfect setting for a special occasion and could have been wonderful but I would say its the last place to choose for one. We did make use of the Spa and and booked a Hammam and Massage. I dont think the Spa is staffed full time as the lady who came was very scruffy and it all seemed very rushed - we also could only have it at 4pm on the days we wanted to book in the morning. Lovely small spa though which smelt amazing. Another thing to be aware when we went to pay with our Card but they wanted to be paid in cash which really caught us out as we didnt have enough Dirhams so paid a large sum in Sterling and some on the card. We realised afterwards the exchange rate they gave us was £1 to 10 dirhams it should have been about 12.5 so we got a bit fleeced! This is definitely a mixed review I know and I dont like to give neg

After a hectic short stay in Marrakech we stayed for 2 nights in this fantastic calm away from the city hubbub which was a perfect place to unwind and relax. The manager could not have been more attentive and really made us feel like the hotels guests of honour during our stay. All the staff were fantastic and we really enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend this spa hotel. Thank you to all the team who looked after us so well.

Ok. So new management took over in Feb ‘23. The new manager and his wife are delightful. And they are working hard to improve the hotel. The garden is being planted. And the spa has been updated. So far, relatively limited services. But the hammam and massage we got were superb. The hotel building is 14 years old, and built using Moroccan building methods. So it may not meet the expectations of those who want to stay in a 5* European hotel. But it is charming. And quite in keeping. One review said that you will need some French. Not so any more. The manager speaks good enough English. As does his wife. There are lots of places to sit, and they will bring your meal wherever you want it. On our last night a couple was sitting at a table surrounded by candles in a sitting nook. So romantic. We spent a lot of time on our balcony. We had room 3, which offers a wonderful through breeze with windows overlooking Marrakech, and the balcony overlooking the pool. The swimming pool is glorious. We went in in the late afternoon when the air temp was cooling off and the water temp was heating up. Yes. There are still some things that need updating. We personally have no interest in driving in Morocco, so see this as a wonderful place to completely collapse for a couple of days, without trying to do anything. The hotel had everything we needed. They brought more sachets of coffee every day when they cleaned (and the manager’s wife supervises the cleaning). We will be back. Maybe even to stay in one of the villas they are planning to build on the property in the near future.
