Ok. So new management took over in Feb ‘23. The new manager and his wife are delightful. And they are working hard to improve the hotel. The garden is being planted. And the spa has been updated. So far, relatively limited services. But the hammam and massage we got were superb. The hotel building is 14 years old, and built using Moroccan building methods. So it may not meet the expectations of those who want to stay in a 5* European hotel. But it is charming. And quite in keeping. One review said that you will need some French. Not so any more. The manager speaks good enough English. As does his wife. There are lots of places to sit, and they will bring your meal wherever you want it. On our last night a couple was sitting at a table surrounded by candles in a sitting nook. So romantic. We spent a lot of time on our balcony. We had room 3, which offers a wonderful through breeze with windows overlooking Marrakech, and the balcony overlooking the pool. The swimming pool is glorious. We went in in the late afternoon when the air temp was cooling off and the water temp was heating up. Yes. There are still some things that need updating. We personally have no interest in driving in Morocco, so see this as a wonderful place to completely collapse for a couple of days, without trying to do anything. The hotel had everything we needed. They brought more sachets of coffee every day when they cleaned (and the manager’s wife supervises the cleaning). We will be back. Maybe even to stay in one of the villas they are planning to build on the property in the near future.
