My Uhual was stolen from their parking lot. I booked through a 3rd party site because it boasted “Secure Off Street Parking” and I specifically asked the front desk attendant if my Uhual truck was safe where I parked it in their lot. “Oh yes,” he replIed. The truck was stolen between 1:05 am - 2:36 am. I know this because the occupants in the room next door were arguing loudly and it woke me up. Unable to sleep with the noise, I checked the Uhual, watched a movie, and checked it again after the movie. It was missing. Everything I owned is now gone. The Alameda Police who responded told me they had a lot of reports from this hotel. The office noted an exterior video camera. When the officer requested footage of the theft, the owner stated the camera did not record that area of the parking lot - 4 parking spaces from the front door. Please do not consider staying here.

This hotel does not operate properly. I got hung up by the same receptionist more than ten times when I called to request for a receipt for my husband stay. So we sent emails out to request the receipt and no one responded to us. My employer has a policy on the business travel claim deadline to submit the claim. I lost $110 for not able to have the hotel receipt. I asked for the manager or the owner, she insisted that they are not there. I asked for just an email certify that my husband was staying there on those days, she said no one will give me that. I think this hotel doing crooked business, properly did not register my husband reservation in the system. That is why they can’t issue a receipt. Stay away from this hotel.

The Marina Village Inn is a property whose architecture suggests it was built around 1960. Surrounded by centenarian yacht clubs and a high-rise luxury condo, it overlooks a sail-craft marina and beyond, the Oakland Hills. The pool looks like it has been decomissioned since the Obama administration, and given water problems in Ca, will probably remain so. My second and top floor room was airy and sparkling clean, albeit scarcely renovated since construction. A very large single-pane picture window opened with some encouragement and allowed in light, sea air, and a view of bobbing masts at hand and a Coast Guard cutter in the distance. Mattress was firm, the linens fresh and soft, and the full size desk had a sturdy office chair. The microwave, safe, and drip coffee maker I did not use. There was some noise in the bath from an adjoining room, but I heard only a foghorn from the bedroom. The pool and inner court are brightly lit at night -- if your room overlooks them you will want to draw the blackout curtains in order to sleep. All in all a remarkable room for the price : I will trade light, a window that opens, and an honest desk with a view for cookie-cutter amenities any day of the week. The 24 hour front desk answered the phone with a human voice and I enjoyed talking with the employees who were kind and helpful, including the cleaning staff. I enquired about security for my car parked a few steps from the room because the Alameda police dept had posted a sign at the entry warning guests to not leave goods in their car. After all, Alameda is situated betwixt Oakland and San Francisco, arguably the car smash and grap capitals of the US. The night desk person told me that in the two years he has been employed there had never been a car break-in, so I left my bike in the car and slept like a baby.

Stay away from Marina Village Inn and the front desk woman! Ryder was her name. The woman wanted to throw me out of the room with the police because she and other coworker had a miscommunication about the need or not for me to change rooms. I tried to explain her that I called front desk to ask if I needed to change rooms and the gentleman that took the call said I could stay bcs the hotel had low occupancy. I don’t know if this woman was under the influence of something but she was absurdly aggressive and deranged! she yelled like crazy that she didn’t need to hear me, then she banged on my room door at 9:30 am ( a couple of hours before checkout time anyway), called the room over and over and threatened to send the police to take me out by force! I am a senior citizen with high blood pressure and the episode made my blood pressure sky rocket. DON’T GO CLOSE THIS HOTEL AND THIS WOMAN!

The room itself was comfortable and adequate for our family. The pool was out of use due to earthquake related damage as reported by the gentleman at reception. It was this same gentleman who unfortunately charged my partner again for our stay that was already prepaid through *********** Instead of just holding the credit card details, he has charged it. While human error happens, what has been frustrating is that the manager has not responded to emails we have sent in regard of this matter. So, now we are approaching *********** to rectify the error which was not theirs. Very disappointing.

The location could not be any better for us. Quiet, beautiful surroundings, well-appointed rooms, very clean and the staff were awesome to work with! We absolutely would not hesitate to stay here again. Definitely will return to the Marina Village Inn.

I tried to make a reservation at this inn but was unable to connect. The phone # on the website rang but then disconnected. Never went to voice mail. Emailed but never got a response. Finally went to FaceBook page and left private message which was never replied to. Gave up and booked different location.
