First the good: everyone was super helpful and accommodating, especially the ladies at breakfast. The made to order omelettes and pancakes were really good and the lady making them was so friendly and eager to please. The happy hour was also nice and the bar tender seemed to be a really good guy and was very efficient. The main desk staff were pleasant as well, no problems there. Here’s why I am giving 3 stars: The shower and shower curtain were not clean looking. The toilet bowl was the same way. I think it maybe just needs updated but it still left me with a gungy feel. Actually the whole Bathroom in general felt gross. Same with carpet. But here is the main reason why I would never come back: the water in the pool was so disgusting that I can’t even. There was no smell of chlorine or chemicals and the water was green and cloudy. Like real cloudy. So I thought it must be a saltwater pool so I swam but was still grossed out. The next day I asked the front desk if it was a saltwater pool which would explain the cloudiness and she said no it was chlorine. Girl, that pool hadn’t seen chlorine since like 1985. Ughhhhhhhh. So grossed out to be swimming in essentially dirty bath water. It was a busy pool. really hope the front desk clerk was wrong and if I find out it was a saltwater pool I will amend my review. But if this is correct, people clean up your pool!!!! So if you stay here, expect a great breakfast but stay out of the pool and don’t expect it to be a shiny and updated room because it is not. Or at least our room wasn’t. Yuck.

Econo Lodge Downtown Albuquerque

Albuquerque|1km from Spa Botanica
If you're looking for an affordable stay that's centrally located, look no further than the Econo Lodge Downtown. The staff were very nice, the room was overall clean and comfortable, and overall I was happy with this stay for the 3 days I was, though it wasn't perfect, hence the 4 stars. I'll explain below. The Good: +++Very nice staff, much nicer than what you usually expect for a hotel at this price point. ++My room was clean overall. Towels, bed sheets, floors, and all of the important surfaces were spotless. Cleanliness wasn't perfect however; I'll elaborate below. ++Property felt relatively safe thanks to a fence that encircled the property. This was something that I was worried about when booking the stay, but I felt safe at this Econo lodge. +Having a decent free breakfast was nice, and as someone who wakes up later in the morning, it was nice that they actually kept the food out until 10AM, instead of putting everything away 30 minutes before they're supposed to. It was just a standard continental breakfast, but a decent one. +Bed was comfortable(aside from the rocking back and forth, which I'll elaborate on below). The Not So Good: -Cleanliness wasn't perfect, as the nooks and crannies(space under the sink vanity, corners, etc.) that you wouldn't touch anyway weren't very clean. There wasn't anything gross, but it is worth mentioning. -There was some street noise. Nothing too bad, but something to keep in mind if you are a light sleeper. --There was a small gap in the bottom of the door. It didn't look like it was caused by a break in, it was probably just from the door being old and warping over time. Too small for someone to use it to break in, but I did have to plug it with tissue to prevent bugs from possibly getting in. -The bed rocked back and forth when you climbed in and out of it. I did not worry about the bed's structural stability, and it was not rocking to a dangerous degree anyway, but it was annoying. -After arriving right on time for check-in, I had to wait 20 minutes in order to be let into my room, as they weren't yet done cleaning it. This wasn't too bad for me, as it was only 20 minutes and I get how hard it is to find help these days. -This motel does not accept debit cards as payment, though they do accept credit cards. Not really a problem, but it is unusual so I thought it was worth mentioning. I consider all of the above complaints as minor ones, there was nothing seriously wrong, the complaints were outweighed by the positives, and my experience here was overall positive. If you're the fussy type who sees the above issues as more major than I made them out to be, then just stay at a Hilton. But if you're like me, someone who just wants a cheap, no-frills, clean place to sleep and shower, then this motel is ideal. I will likely be back.

One of the best hotels in Albuquerque Rosie took care of us. I had asked her if she could have fresh coffee for us at 4 a.m., and she did; she even requested a cab for us. I have never stayed at a hotel where the front desk people get you a cab. She went above and beyond for us, so I really appreciated Rosie's help. Thank you again. Rosie will see you in 2 weeks.

I live in Albuquerque and lead a pretty hectic life working for 3 different delivery services. Whenever I need a break, I check into the Red Roof for a few days. It is always clean, quiet and luxurious for an excellent rate. The entire staff is friendly and on point. ”Ask and you shall receive” could be their official motto! Great amenities and centrally located. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this is definitely the best stay in town

As for trip.com u suck and didn't say what u said you would do so I had to pay for 2 days when u were supposed to get it refunded so we can go home I messaged someone the night I got there for a refund and the next day u went to leave and i had no choice but to stay because it was already 24hours. It was all so confusing!

The hotel is large and the rooms are large. The facilities are also complete. Our room is also relatively spacious. The hotel is not very convenient, there is no elevator, the residents on the second floor need to carry their own luggage. The breakfast was great and the dining environment was good. Although it was always provided by the old beauty, it tasted good and there were many types.
