Atura Albury an EVT hotel

Very ordinary for the price food nice but expensive hotel room not very clean

Convenient location, rooms great size, clean, great shower and rooms well presented. Parking easy and free. Buffett breakfast $25 per head was the only let down, coffee machine broken, had to wait 20mins util I was attended, pancake machine didn't work, another 15min and never got attended. However, if i did not have buffet breakfast I would review the hotel itself highly.

We have stayed here 3 times and always enjoy the large rooms and the convenience of being able to walk with everything close by. But we were not keen on the checking in and out via a machine! We would much prefer a real person but it was easy enough to do. But nothing beats a friendly receptionist.

My wife and I arrived at Atura in Albury at about midday on Tuesday 30th April 2024. The day before we contacted the office to confirm that we were coming and asked what time we could move into the room. On the day of arrival we rang half an hour before as requested to confirm when we could access the room. We arrived at reception and the manager welcomed us and we paid in full. He said we could access the room via a back entrance. When doing so there was some maintenance happening and one of the tradespeople emptied a bucket of water very close to our feet. We arrived at the room and noticed a letter dated 30th April 2024 to say that there will be no water between 10pm and 4am the following morning due to some works. I, the husband, then proceeded to the toilet only to find there was no water at our arrival time of midday. That time was not in the letter. My wife then rang reception to say how could we possibly stay if there is no water for six hours during the night and then we have no access to the toilet during the night. We then spoke to the General Manager on departure and asked him about why the water was not operating now and he said that direction came from the Council for all of the Albury cbd. We then proceeded to check other properties in the close vicinity and they did not receive that direction from the council. They all had water. On the subject of the water not being available during the night the GM suggested he could provide jugs of water. Not sure how that helped with using the toilet or the shower. We contacted the GM in the office on three occasions before went to the room. He should have told us that there was an issue with the water. He did not and that is pathetic customer service. We asked for a credit and received it two days' later. And you would not believe it but we received a charge on our credit card for the mini bar. We were lucky to be in the room for three minutes and did not use the mini bar. We went back the next day and asked for a credit. The GM said sorry and said it must have been the previous occupants. We did find alternative accommodation in the Albury cbd virtually not long after. This experience was a disaster!!

Lovely comfortable beds and a great night's sleep had by all, The reception staff were very helpful and check-in/out was a breeze. A very popular hotel in Albury and is well-located next to the commercial club and some great cafes nearby...
