Wizards Thatch was a wonderful retreat for a weekend away. The building and suite itself were quirky and different from your normal hotel experience. The location was fantastic, just a few minutes from the town centre by foot, with it's plethora of restaurants and cafes. Plus the wider location was beautiful, right on the edge of the wonderful peak district. The suite itself was cosy and welcoming and the bed was very comfortable! The hosts were welcoming, even giving us a call a week or so ahead of time to enthusiastically tell us all about the area and give us some recommendations on locations to visit and places to eat. Highly recommended, would happily find back here again!

Our 3rd time staying at Wizards Thatch, we absolutely love this place! Always spotlessly clean, well equipped, fluffy towels and really comfy beds. The suites are so cosy and full of quirky interesting artifacts and fascinating books. Short stroll from Alderley Edge with lovely shops, lots of bars & restaurants and a great chippy over the road! Looking forward to our next visit!

We stayed for 2 nights in the Merlin Suite. The rooms were spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable. The nearby high street has a huge choice of restaurants and there is a Waitrose should you wish to stay in to eat. The room has a plentiful supply of cutlery and crockery. Our host, Ian, was very welcoming and a walking encyclopaedia of local knowledge. Parking in the nearby church car park was very convenient. We will definitely be visiting again.

An amazing place to stay. Very quirky and full of character and charm. So clean, welcoming & comfortable. We had a lovely array of proper tea, coffee & hot chocolate (no sachets), with kettle, toaster, microwave & fridge for our use. Everything was thought of. Ian, the host, is extremely knowledgeable about the cottage and the area. We took up a couple of recommendations like the Village Cafe for breakfast - very nice & friendly The Drum & Monkey, nice Robinson’s Brewery pub with Trooper on tap, and Victors for fine dining. All in all a magical stay for a couple of nights. I would absolutely recommend (book direct through their website). It felt like how I imagine staying at the Weasleys would be (Harry Potter for those who don’t know) Amazing. Thank you Ian.

A truly unique and magical place to stay. The Camelot Suite was beautiful, so comfortable and full of quirky features; we wished we could have stayed longer and will definitely come back. I booked direct with Ian, the owner, through his website. I would recommend this as Ian was very helpful and knowledgeable, greeted us on arrival and arranged a later check out. And it was cheaper booking this way! Wizards Thatch was an amazing experience, so much more than just a place to stay! Highly recommended

Instead of booking Manchester City Centre due to budgets as there was football match on I found this hotel. Really nice hotel with a great room and service. I will always look for this when staying in the area!

Great place, living room keeps cool when warmer outside. Cute and quirky cottage, spotlessly clean. Host is very accommodating, friendly and gave many recommendations of places to eat and visit. Lots to do if staying in with many books, DVDs and board games. Comfy four poster bed
