Duck Bay Hotel

Do not book this hotel！ This hotel will credit card fraud directly from your card (trip platform revealed to them card secret) and transfer the money to the hotel account！ I went straight to the front desk with my bank statement that day, and the hotel refused to admit it. trip refused to take responsibility, the money is brushed by the hotel is not in their hands. I am still contacting the bank to recover the money. I promise I did everything on my trip and never gave the hotel any authorization, but the credit card fraud just showed up

Wonderful setting, absolutely phenomenal food and great choices of alcoholic drinks. Will definitely be back to this establishment. Sitting on the Loch yesterday with a beer and wine looking at what a beautiful spot it really is.

great experience living here, with fantastic location and restaurant. have to say the dinner in the hotel restaurant and the sightseeing leaves me and my friend deep impression.

Absolutely appalling service and customer relations. We’ve been here before many times and generally the food has been good. There was an issue with one of our mains, a steak to be precise where it was burnt on the outside and asked to be replaced. A manager took the steak back to the kitchen and returned with it claiming that he was a steak connoisseur and that the issue with the steak was down to the lighting in the restaurant! Another manager then came over who was very arrogant insisting that there was no issue with the steak and after several minutes of arguing, agreed to have it replaced. By this time the meal was ruined for us all due to the attitude of both mangers backing up their chef while the rest of the party were to eat their dinner. On paying the bill there was no offer for a discount given the fact that 4 adult meals had been ruined, only that the steak we complained about was removed. It was at this point the manager who claimed to be the steak connoisseur during previous discussions was asked if he would’ve eaten said steak to which he replied ‘I don’t eat steak’. Again as we’ve experienced on other occasions in the same restaurant, the drinks service is painfully slow and if you want a drink in a timely manner, you’re better to order one when you still have 3/4 left. Such a shame as the restaurant and surroundings are amazing, the menu is great but the staff need retraining in customer service and a new steak chef wouldn’t go amiss. Not a cheap restaurant by any means and I’d have expected better to be honest. A situation that could’ve been easily resolved with more experienced staff.

We were looking forward to a special family celebration dinner and were left disappointed due to poor quality food and service. I had the Tuscan fish stew, it was served luke-warm, the bread was basic thin white bread instead of sourdough. We had two fish sharing platters and the calamari was swapped out for whitebait - we weren't asked if we were OK with this. Fillet steak ordered medium rare - served burnt on the outer edges and rare inside. Sent it back to be rectified, the response was dismissive and arrogant - the waiter took it away and brought it back, insisting it was fine. Appalling customer service, food is over-priced and disappointing.

The hotel looks fresh and modern, the staff are very friendly and helpful. They have retained little touches that some hotels have dropped, like a good 3 course breakfast, shampoo and soap in the rooms. Great shower in our room! The only negative would be that they don't do twin rooms and the standard double is not a large bed. But, the rooms were warm but airy ( you can open the windows) and you have a marvellous view of the loch. Much better value for money than its neighbour! Definitely will be back

Had a lake view suite. Was amazing. Could not of wished for a better stay. From a total business point of view I believe the hotel should address the very negative reviews left recently on other travel sites as it nearly made us cancel our stay. Very negative reviews without response can be very damaging and I am sure lots of potential customers like ourselves read reviews and make decisions. Our stay was perfect, we will visit again, but as someone who has never stayed before, we were nearly swayed by people who have had bad experiences. I hope the hotel deal with those reviews and put peoples minds at ease. Silence is not good in these situations.
