Kazakhstan Hotel

The room was quite small, and there was a dead bug on the carpet. For a hotel of this caliber, it's unacceptable that they only put a sheet on the bed and expect guests to find the duvet in the wardrobe and put the cover on themselves. Big thumbs down. The bathtub, bedding, and towels all had stains or black spots, so the hygiene was subpar. The shower faucet was cracked at the edge, and I nearly cut my hand – truly awful. The elevator area was under renovation, basically a big construction site. The staff would just swipe their cards and enter the room without checking if anyone was inside; they burst in three times during my stay, which was incredibly frustrating. I called the front desk multiple times to ask for a duvet and tissues, but from check-in to check-out, no one ever brought the tissues. A staff member briefly told me the duvet was in the wardrobe and then left, showing absolutely no service awareness. When I called for her, she didn't come, but then she'd just force her way into my room by swiping her card. Negative score.

I stayed here for my entire three-night, four-day trip to Kazakhstan. The cleanliness and facilities were impeccable, and the breakfast was very generous. The shower had great water pressure. The only thing I wasn't used to was that the room wasn't as spacious as rooms back home, but overall, it was still very good. The best part is its landmark location, making taxis easy to find. The Kök-Töbe cable car is within walking distance, as is Abay Metro Station. There's also a tea house nearby, Navat, which has good food and a nice atmosphere.

The location is great, right in the city center next to the cable car. The exterior of the hotel looks grand, but the rooms are quite old-fashioned, though still clean. Breakfast was decent, and we had a stunning view of the snow-capped mountains from our window!

This famous hotel is the pride of Kazakhstan. It boasts a superb location in the city center with wonderful views from the windows. Housekeeping is daily. There's a kettle in the room, but tea bags aren't replenished. Water was provided daily, and there was always hot water. My room was on the 13th floor. The room is in dire need of renovation – it's old and dilapidated. The plumbing is chipped, and the walls are cracked. My request for a higher floor was ignored, with staff claiming no other rooms were available, even though they were. However, the views from the window are good, overlooking Kok Tobe mountain and the TV tower. A special shout-out to the hotel's restaurant! It's simply 10 out of 10! I haven't encountered such a variety and deliciousness of dishes in any other 5-star hotel. The restaurant is amazing! Breakfast is served from 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM, which is great! Currently (July 2026), there's renovation happening in the elevator lobby, but it doesn't affect the quality of our stay at all. Kudos to them for that!

The hotel's location is excellent, and the lobby and breakfast area are nice. The elevators have been renovated, but surprisingly, the renovation is quite exposed, which makes it feel unsafe. The room was not clean; the floor was warped, and the room looked very old. The bed felt like sleeping on a hard wooden board with springs moving around. The duvet cover had no insert, perhaps because it's summer. The bathroom was incomplete; the toilet was wobbly, and there wasn't even a shower cap, which was surprising. If you're choosing this place purely for the location, it's acceptable. I didn't take many photos because I wasn't very impressed.

This hotel is a landmark in Almaty. It has a magnificent exterior and offers a spectacular night view. The breakfast is also decent. However, there are a few downsides. Firstly, the cleanliness was subpar. Upon check-in, I found an eyelash extension from a previous guest still stuck to my pillow. In the restaurant, some plates weren't properly washed and had black residue on them. I stayed in room 2304, and it seemed like the room door was broken and then shoddily repaired with a wooden board covering it, and this temporary fix was offered to guests.

Although the rooms seem a bit dated, the hotel is very well-maintained and clean! The breakfast and the views are excellent. There's a rooftop, and when I arrived on a Friday night, there were a lot of people heading to the rooftop bar. While some might find it a bit noisy, I actually felt it added to the sense of security. All the staff members are incredibly friendly.

The hotel is currently undergoing renovations. Our room, while not yet refurbished, was comfortable and perfectly functional. The highlight of the establishment is undoubtedly its excellent, varied, and high-quality breakfast. Furthermore, the location is ideal for exploring the city. In summary, it's a good place that should improve even further once the renovations are complete.
