Hotels Near Monumento al Inmigrante in Almeria

Stayed here right in the centre of beautiful Almería. Tiny entrance Street and the garage is below the hotel - there is a lift at street level which you drive into, stay in the car, turn off the engine and press the button to the level the receptionist has told you is free. Not for the agoraphobic! Lovely airy foyer and staff very welcoming. Lovely room, spotlessly clean with a lovely bathroom and nice windows overlooking the town. Within 2 minutes of the cathedral, 10 minutes walk to the castle and surrounded by bars, restaurants and some lovely dress shops! Really enjoyed our stay here. Be aware a lot of restaurants are closed on Mondays but we found a fancy Italian 2 minutes away which was very good. Would definitely stay here again.

I cannot understand the bad reviews. We had an excellent experience here. The room was clean and nicely decorated. The location is very good at the city centre and close to the attractions. We had chosen a spa package, which is highly recommendable and included chocolates and prosecco. The spa experience was amazing, which we have also reviewed separately in more detail. The staff were extremely kind and helpful. When we arrived early at 12, they let ut stay on the rooftop pool all day until our room was ready. Great customer service! And when I forgot my Spanish abanico at the hotel, they found it for me, and kept it for a week until I returned to pick it up. A special thank you for your help and honesty! Breakfast was good and the views were stunning from the rooftop to the Alcazaba. Very luxurious. They even opened the breakfast serving 15 minutes earlier than usual, so we had the chance to enjoy the breakfast and still catch our early morning bus. Just a perfect stay here. La ubicación es muy buena en el centro de la ciudad y cerca de las atracciones. Habíamos elegido un paquete de spa, que es muy recomendable e incluía chocolates y prosecco. La experiencia de hammam fue increíble, que también hemos analizado por separado con más detalle. El personal fue extremadamente amable y servicial. Cuando llegamos temprano a las 12, nos dejaron quedarnos en la piscina todo el día hasta que nuestra habitación estuvo lista. ¡Excelente servicio al cliente! Incluso abrieron el servicio de desayuno 15 minutos antes de lo habitual temprano por la mañana, y gracias a eso tuvimos la oportunidad de disfrutar del desayuno antes que nuestro autobús sale. Simplemente una estancia perfecta aquí.

Great location in the beach. Lots of nice restaurants and bars near by. Pleasant staff. Rooms needed to do what the did (a bed for the night) breakfast average. Was not there long enough to use the pool or the facilities. Would stay again as it’s a great base to travel to nearby areas. Almeria was about 20 mins in the car.

After a pretty hectic couple of months, I decided to book a solo trip to Spain and after some searching, this hotel was the best price. However, I now understand why the hotel was such a low cost and TUI listing the hotel as 4* is laughable. Some aspects of the hotel are lovely (my room was nice and modern and the pool area is really nice) but everything else is bang average. The staff’s downright unpleasantness and hostility to English people is also something that I need to mention. During this week stay I have lost count of the amount of times that I have been completely blanked by members of staff when trying to order food and drink to a point where I’ve had to get up from my table and walk over to the bar area so they physically cannot ignore me. Spanish people, however, are served at their tables and quite clearly treated a lot better. I have worked in customer service roles my whole working life, and know for a fact that it is not difficult to be nice to people - Particularly people like me who are clearly travelling on their own. Another absolutely mental thing that just happened was that a short time before me typing this, I returned to my sun bed after popping to the toilet (I was gone for a max of ten mins.) on my sun bed was a note warning me not to leave my belongings or else the staff have a right to remove them if they are getting in the way of other guests??? Literally all of the beds around me bar one are completely empty!! I have been on a sun bed in the same area all week so the staff know that I get here early and stay here all day, so to receive this note is frankly quite nasty and underhanded. What would you like me to do, wee in the pool??? I have attached photos to this review showing the note as well as the empty beds around me. Overall, weather has been fab and it’s been lovely to have a relaxing break away. I wish, however, that I’d booked the Barcelo next door instead. Do better Cabogata Jardin.

We travelled as a family of 4 in August 2024. We booked through Jet2 and had excellent service - the flights and transfers were all on time and seamless. We were the first stop on the coach, around a 30-40min journey. At check-in we had to pay €40 cash for our all-inclusive wristbands. This was for the last day in case you want to carry on eating etc after 12 (if not, you get your deposit back). The timings were: Breakfast 8.00-10.30 / Lunch 13.30-15.30 / Dinner 19.30-22.00. We found this quite late as our kids are 5 & 7 so we were always first in, but this is obviously the norm in Spanish culture as they were often queuing for dinner at 9.30pm. In between the main mealtimes they serve snacks (hot dogs, burgers, nuggets, chips), slush, ice lollies, donuts, pancakes, etc. The food is decent. Varied but a bit repetitive. We’re all vegetarian (one pescatarian) and my son is quite a fussy eater, but we all managed fine. Kids loved the ice-cream station and chocolate fountain night. All the restaurant staff seemed to work really hard to keep it running. We paid extra for a sea view room which had the added bonus of a sunny balcony, and meant we could dry all our swimming stuff quickly each day. The WiFi didn’t work in room until the second-to-last day. We mentioned it at reception but they said there was nothing they could do. I guess it’s not an issue for most Spanish guests but it was for us. Room looked recently refurbished. Good shower and bathroom was spotless. The air con was quite poor which meant nights were a bit uncomfortable. The TV had Disney channel, BBC, ITV, Channel 4, etc. The algae round the pool is an issue and I ruined a bikini on the first day by sitting on the side. I saw them scrubbing it on a morning but it obviously doesn’t make much difference. Overall the pools were great though and my son loved the slides. We estimated a split of around 80% Spanish / 20% English guests (maybe the occasional French family). This was fine but did mean that the entertainment was mostly in Spanish, with the odd line in English to try and follow along. Having said that, the Animación team worked so hard and were always trying to get us involved. The Aqua aerobics class was brilliant and the guy in particular had so much energy. It was more like a show than an exercise class! There is a big shopping centre called the Gran Plaza about a 10-min walk away. It has a H&M, Primark, Toys R Us, McDonalds, Claire’s, JD, etc. We got the bus from the Gran Plaza into Almería (about a 25 min journey). Almería has a good castle (Game of Thrones was filmed there) but not a huge amount else. Worth a trip though to break up the holiday. The area in general is surprisingly humid to say it’s right by the sea. Our only real issue was on return at Almeria airport. They have a ridiculous system where you have to queue to get into your gate and it meant we nearly missed our flight and had to cut through the queue. So make sure you get in the queue early

If you like super loud (eardrum splitting) music, then this hotel is for you! My husband and I arrived on a late June weekend for a 10-day stay. We had requested a quiet room and arrived at one of the noisiest times of the day. There was a stage below our bedroom with speakers directly below our balcony and they were playing VERY loud music with VERY loud commentaries. It turned out that this was not the only loud music of the week or even of the day. We were unable to understand how it needed to be so loud as it was possible to hear the noise from a couple of streets away. Fortunately, we were able to change rooms later that day (having partly unpacked) and we were moved to a room at the side of the hotel where we couldn’t hear the music and where the view was more interesting! The second disappointment on our arrival was the fact that there was no English TV channel. The best we could find was France24 (in English). The bar area was a bit “holiday camp” where one had to queue for a drink if required (no waiter service). Drinks were a bit on the mean side. Evening entertainment was OK though not very exciting. The childrens’ entertainment ran from 9.30 to 10.30 and it was good fun to watch them participating in it. Adult entertainment ran from 10.30 to 11.30. Most guests were Spanish. Overall, the hotel was otherwise good (reception, dining and other staff were all very pleasant and meals were good if a little limited). It was not, however, what we would class as 4 star. There was another hotel a few streets away which had a 4 star classification and which was in another league altogether. Unfortunately, to get to it with a British travel company meant flying from Leeds Bradford, Birmingham or Bristol and, I think, one other. However, we live close to Gatwick airport and so we chose to travel with another .

This is an excellent hotel with great attention to detail. Quiet and relaxed a good option for couples who don't want a busy and husley hotel. We will be returning. I would give it five stars if two issues are addressed. Firstly the entertainment animation lady. Although she could talk English she never spoke English for any of the pool area activities e.g. water pool aerobics and archery. She spoke English intermittently for the bar activities eg bingo. Even then although the numbers were called in both English and Spanish other details were not e.g. if playing for a line, full house etc. The outcome of this is that many of the English people we spoke to were a bit annoyed and felt excluded from the activities. There were we estimated about 25-30% English speakers over our two week stay. I would hope that this lady is instructed to cater for us as well in the future. It was a pity as she was good at her job otherwise. Secondly the gym which unlike the other excellent amenities of the hotel is poor. A cable machine as found in most gyms, even small one, would be good. The dumbbell weights only go up to 14k which is the lowest I have seen in a gym anywhere including hotels and I have been in a lot! The problem became that most of the people in there during my stay wanted to use those as there were none any heavier. So we were all scrambling for them! Can I suggest just adding an extra 3 sets, say 16kg, 18kg and 20kg. There is plenty of room under the dumbbell rack and would not cost much. Can you confirm if this can be considered please?
