Castle Gate

The property was in the perfect location. Very central within a few minutes walk to the central square, restaurants, bars, theatre, shops. Bus stop right outside with the service covering up & down the coast. It was clean & the bed was very comfortable. Toiletries were provided as were tea and coffee facilities. The host was lovely.

We both loved the property. It was home from home and so cosy. The owners were very helpful and nothing was a problem for them. We would stay again in the future 😁😁🎉

Excellent location, few minutes walk into town. Plenty of nice pubs and restaurants around.

Lovely guest accommodation in central Alnwick, close to all amenities. Jo very welcoming and helpful. Nice clean tidy room, comfy bed. Fridge in room very useful as no breakfast available in the guest house. Great value for money. Would definitely stay again.

Room was reasonable size and clean. Bed was comfortable. Very small awkwardly shaped, shabby ensuite, mould round selant, overflow and plug. Extractor fan & light in tiny shower cubicle not working. We had to walk sideways to get to the shower, which was pathetic. Loose toilet seat and hot water tap. Ensuite in desperate need of up dating by a professional, not an inept amateur as the present one. Thin towels, very basic toiletries. Off road parking not easy to access, no dropped kerb and very short. We had difficulty getting our very small C1 into the space without it overhanging the pavement. The cars of other residents were overhanging the pavement by several feet inspired being right up to the wall. The landing was dimly lit due to several light bulbs not working. Shelf under mirror in bedrooms loose and wobbly There was no proprietor on site to report theses matters to. In spite of advertising itself as a B&B we were not offered the option of breakfast. There were creaky floorboards in bedrooms and landing which caused disturgance at night and in mornings. I would not recommend this place of visit it again.

Welcomed by Jo. Lovely clean room fantastic location. literally spitting distance from Alnwick Castle. Also barters books is 3 minutes walk.

Host excellent and location perfect. Bedding very clean and comfortable bed. Thin wall between the next room. Caffeine free tea & coffee and sweeteners instead of sugar wouldn't go amiss. Shower cubicle a bit dated but on the whole quite a nice room.

We had a lovely 2 night stay. Clean and comfy bed.

We booked this stay through ******* who used Agoda. Agoda sold us a room that does not exist. On top of that they didn’t provide the lady with any contact details of mine to inform me of the error. She also tried in vain to contact *******/Agoda to cancel it. When we arrived the lady (Jo I think) was very apologetic even though it wasn’t her fault, she showed me all the emails and activity in her phone from trying to sort this out. Despite it being a busy bank holiday she had managed to book us into another guest house 30secs away for the first night of our stay and personally escorted us there. Jo?? Then gave us some local information and other places to try and book for our second night. She also provided us the difference in cash. Thank you for all your help
