No problem at 1 Hotel. Short stay nice room quiet and relaxing.

This place outside looks like others motel, but when you get in you will be surprised: it's like a huge green garden, take a look to the pictures. Room is clean and tidy. 20$ credit card is required. The rooms' door are in the building not outside.

I was at the 1Hotel July just days after the 4th. After reading reviews , my decision was it was a 50-50 chance of having either a great or terrible experience . It sounded interesting at the very least to see this historic hotel and the price was great. It did not disappoint . I looked for the dreaded bugs or any kind of shabbiness . Yes the room upstairs near a large cherub statue had carpet that smelled a little musty at first but it was a very large and comfortable room with ornate surroundings . The pool had water but I never saw anyone in it during my short overnight stay . The staff was very friendly and pleasant at all times. Negatives can only be found by whining about the fact that I thought it was on walkable streets as I had imagined . Yes the parking lot had a few questionable people in it at night . What public parking lot in a large city doesn’t ? The strangest thing to me was seeing the dining area tables and floors were cleaned by 9 am and I saw no traces of people or food or coffee . Final analysis - seems a little other worldly and is extremely nice despite price and some bad reviews .

Yes, you might save a few pennies but it isn't worth that. Elevators were broken so we had the pleasure of trudging our luggage up 3 dangerous flights of stairs. Once inside the hotel you are hit in the face with the reek of strong chlorine that permeates through the hotel and haunts you in your sleep. The blinds in the room are broken so the light from everywhere shine through all night. You MIGHT get free wi-fi if you are in one of the few rooms that has a signal. You won't get a discount if you don't. Pool was closed, "hot breakfast" was a donut. The beds are hard and uncomfortable. The A/C gave off the sound of a thousand rats being shoved through a grinder. It rained the night we "slept" there and we were greeted with huge ceiling parts outside our door and through the hotel the next morning. Someday this might be a nice hotel again but now is NOT that time.

Room 116. BUGS everywhere. Roaches crawled out from behind TV. Some type of water bugs crawling all over bathroom on walls, in sink, on floor. I alerted front desk and left. Showed her pictures and begged them to fumigate. Front desk clerk was not concerned at all. Just said “Sorry. There’s nothing I can do about it.” I’m attaching pictures to my review.

Neglected building inside and out. Carpeting missing in parts of the building, cement stairs in ill repair. Elevators not working. Broken lamp shades, veneer peeling off door, broken tub drain back, parking very sketchy etc. staff? Meh.

I usually do not write reviews. But DIANNE, she works the front desk, was so awesome. She is very professional, friendly, does her best to help the needs of a customer. She is such a pleasure to deal with. I am happy to see her every time I have too go to that hotel. There has been many places in Amarillo that there staff is rude. Housekeeping is ruder. But this single woman is an asset to this establishment. I left with a smile on my face. Simple things like this restore my faith in humanity. I hope anyone staying here has the pleasure of dealing with her. Fantastic job Miss Dianne!!!🌹🌹🌹 U r the greatest!!!! Miss Jennifer darling.
