It would have been nice to have more information about travel from island to island and mode of transportation. If we had known the resort was so far away from the city, we would have chose something closer to civilization,

This this hotel was very relaxing had everything anybody would need to enjoy a wonderful Caribbean vacation. Rooms were large enough whenever you went in them to re-relax and recoup from a wonderful day in the sun the buildings for spacious for a part in a perfectly relaxing crowd.

The staff is amazing. The food is good (as is everywhere on the island). The property itself is rundown and poorly maintained. It is clear that this is a result of the lack of funding and inves**ent to the place. Avoid this property as much as possible. You will be much happier staying at an Airbnb (like we did) if other hotel chains are cost prohibitive as they tend to be on this tiny island.

First the good. Very friendly, helpful, & accommodating staff. Clean rooms, comfortable bed, beautiful view. Very quiet and relaxing! A few things that aren’t bad, just would’ve been helpful to know. The food at Costa Blu is pricey! Same meal in town less (ex: $20 omelette + $4 USD for toast) at Aji tapas bar, $11-USD including toast) also MANY things on the menu were unavailable (even jelly for the toast at 7 am)…. In the room, no tissues or lotion was provided. SERIOUSLY! DO NOT FLUSH A SINGLE PIECE OF TOILET PAPER! Or you get to have a super awkward encounter with the nice maintenance man. The pillows are very flat, and there is a woodpecker who wakes up at 5:06 am every morning and is intent on waking you up as well. I guess more time to enjoy the day. :) they say it’s a resort, I guess I was expecting a little more… there is no spa, but they had two excellent massage therapists come to our room, which was nice. At other resorts, they have enough staff to bring you drinks & check in onyou throughout the day. If you wanted anything at costa blu, you had to go to the bar to get anything you needed. (Wayne was very helpful) They did have construction, but we were on the other side of the resort, and they seemed to keep reasonable hours. It was not intrusive at all. They are building new buildings to sell, that’s where the money is going. Everything else was slightly on the run down side. But still functioning. There are a bunch of “Wishwilly” iguanas. They are really neat to see…. But no one cleans up after them at all. You need to watch where you step. The AC mostly worked great and they have really nice fans in the rooms. The deck was really nice, sunny on the top floor, shaded on the bottom floor. We spent one day at the resort just relaxing, but with the prices of food, we ended up going into town for almost every meal, which was a neat experience. It really is 6.5 miles to town on a VERY bumpy road, Belizian speed bums :) (they do mention this, but it’s hard to really get it until you’re there. Pedal to the medal in the golf cart 35 minutes) we rented a cart for the week with a private company as Costa Blu was more expensive. That gave us the freedom to come & go as we pleased. We did not really notice any misquitos or biting bugs until the last day. Hubby got a couple of bites. There were a couple of cockroaches in the bathroom, but I think that’s pretty unavoidable in a tropical climate. I don’t think we’d stay at Costa Blu if we returned, the price was good, but it’s more convenient closer to town. I was thinking you could snorkel right from the resort, you can’t… it was very windy so we never tried the paddle board or kayak. (Which were available and looked to be in good condition) Also, you can’t just walk into the water at all. It’s not a sandy beach. There is a retaining wall, but it seems that is normal for most of the resorts. So, overall a solid 3 stars mainly for the cleanliness of the room, the few staff we had interaction

We loved the a**osphere, space and amenities offered at Costa Blu. We stayed for 6 days and spent a good amount of time both lounging at the hotel and out & about. It is vital to rent a golf cart from one of the services in town. We thought it was so fun zipping around the island, but it is definitely necessary to get anywhere independently. The hotel itself has lovely grounds and a lovely staff. Big shoutout to Jaime as he was our main bartender through our stay. We weren't looking for a super fancy room and the construction didn't really bother us. My only critique is that the bed in our room was far too soft and we slept pretty uncomfortably on the back half of our trip.

We enjoyed our stay at Costa Blu on Ambergris Caye. The staff was attentive, personal and professional. The view is exceptional no matter where you stand. The grounds need some attention, and yet - overall - we would stay there again.

I recently booked a 4 day vacation at Costa Blu with my daughter and girl friend. I loved the location even though it was a 35 min golf cart ride into San Pedro town. My husband Paul and I had traveled to Ambergris Caye in November of 2022 and wanted that secluded vibe. We stayed on the north side of the island and one day out on the golf cart we found Costa Blu and decided then that we would stay there the next time we visited the island. We enjoyed the golf cart ride in and out and up and down the beautiful island ,we also enjoyed all the places we discovered along the way. Costa Blu is located on the north side, beautiful views, incredible staff, the food at the restaurant was wonderful, the rooms might have been dated but they were clean and I want to say thanks to the housecleaning staff!! I loved the pool and the bar. I did notice the construction and remodeling that was going on but it did not take away from the fantastic experience the staff and the property delivered. Thanks to everyone on the Costa Blu team. We will be back
