Incredible building And room with great space And feel. I wasnt very well one the last day of my stay And the Male receptionist was a legend giving me tea And advice how to get better. Felt like a friend at the desk, was a great vibe. Only downside is the Wifi would come And go as they only have 1000 IP address's so sometimes it drops out after a couple hours. Would defo stay there again, great value for money when i went

The location is very good as it is close to everywhere. The employees are helpful. The only problem is the noise outside. It is ideal for a one-night stay. I recommend it.

Hotel Vondel Garden City Centre

We stayed in a large room with 2 single and one double bed and extra room at back. Hotel backs on to Vondel Park so very quiet. Free coffee, hot chocolate, latte etc and yogurt from the lobby besides quite adequate bagged breakfast to start the day. Some might like a closet and fridge. Easy walk to museums, shopping, restaurants, canals and tram stops as well as AirPort Express bus. I’d stay again.

Location was excellent. Short walk to major museums, trams, cafes and restaurants. Bus from airport stops very nearby. Has an elevator -- many places in Amsterdam don't. Very friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast was available at an extra charge which I did not choose but I greatly appreciated the free coffee and tea available all day in breakfast room to all guests. The price was good compared to other options in Amsterdam. I would stay here again. No real complaints but a few things that were a little less than ideal though not a problem: single room was very small, mattress was not very firm, phone in room did not always work, not enough working electrical sockets in the room so I couldn't charge my phone and have the TV on at the same time.
Grand Hotel Downtown

I wrote this review as an email to the hotel two weeks ago, but never got an answer. So: staying at this hotel absolutely did not set our expectations. First of all, when I booked the room, I was told it costs 216 €. But in the end I was charged 235 €. I thought I would not mention this, but in the end the room definitely did not reach the standard of such a high price. 1. The floor was sticky. 2. The wood of the table under the sink was all shattered and swollen. Worse than in a youth hostel. 3. When we arrived, there was a bit of a bad smell coming from the drain under the shower. 4. There were obvious drips of urine on the toilet seat. 5. The second part of the dual-flush did not work. 6. When we came back from the show we attended, the reek in the bath room had gotten worse, but it was late and we did not want any hassle. 7. In the morning, the smell had become an abominable stench in the bath room. My girlfriend nearly threw up and couldn’t even use the shower. It was so nauseating that I had to reach out her tooth brush since she could not make one step into the bath room. All in all, the room was much too expensive for what it was. A pretty poor experience. Actually, I am not that kind of complaining person, but this honestly was close to a fraud.
