The environment and service are good, but the catering level is too low. We basically eat out for every meal.

The room was big and clean. The room was cleaned twice a day which was great. Several restaurants in the hotel taste okay, but the service is very good. The hotel sends a boat to pick you up from the airport, and delivers flowers and kettles. The only thing is to check in and check out on time.

The Good: The 2-bedroom Teremoana villas are absolutely incredible (especially for a family) and were 1000% worth the cost. We didn't want to leave our huge villa and had breakfast delivered daily to the room. Extra privacy (they're at the very end of the dock), uninterrupted views of Mt Otemanu, SO much space, and a true "backyard" area with private pool. The private pool was amazing, especially with kids who might get a bit loud and splashy at the main resort pool. There are several things included with Teremoana Villa stays that weren't advertised widely but would've been helpful to know: breakfast room service charges are waived, so you can have free delivery daily (MUCH preferred to buffet, see below); boat transfers to the main island, which you usually have to pay for, are free with Teremoana villa; the loft can be used as a 3rd semi-private sleeping area; you get 1 day free access to the spa facilities; and there's a small, free mini-bar in the room that's refreshed daily with sodas, a couple snacks, and beers. There's childcare service that can be booked ahead of time through the concierge!! It offers a wonderful alternative to the kids clubs offered by some of the other resorts we were considering. Maja from Bora Bora Childcare Services was outstanding, arriving prepared with toys and activities for the kids and involving them in "hermit crab races," one of the highlights of their trip! I felt confident in leaving my kids with her within the first 5 minutes of her arriving; she's got to be one of the best sitters we've ever booked, at home, on a trip, or in a kids club. I wish we could have brought her home with us! The concierge was BEYOND helpful in booking our activities ahead of time (definitely do this- there was a line of folks wanting to book stuff on arrival, and some was already booked up). I priced out the activities they offer vs. just paying the tour operators directly, and there was zero mark-up across the 3 activities that I looked into. Much easier to book directly through the hotel and have them coordinate dock pick-ups and whatnot. (Stargazing was a great activity if you have kids & ended up being my husband's favorite part of the trip!) The lagoonarium allowed for incredible, free snorkeling! You should still book a dedicated snorkeling trip, but we were astounded by the diversity in there. We even saw an octopus! I thought we might want snorkels to use from our villa, but don't waste your suitcase space; you can borrow a free mask from pool services and keep it for the duration of your stay. One exception is that it's worth bringing kids masks, as there aren't always a variety of sizes. Possibly the BEST part of our stay was Mr. Anton, the Guest Services Manager. Promote that man! (Again! We caught him on his first day as Guest Services Manager, and he was knocking that job out of the park!) He was actively looking for ways to make our stay better, scheduling golf cart rides to the dock when he knew we had activities

Incredible view. Love, love love our hut on the water. Best coffee table ever. Concierge’s were very helpful. Fantastic service from all resort staff. Very clean everywhere. I have a shellfish allergy and I eat a plant based diet. No issues with cross contamination and the kitchen was more than accommodating to make sure I had additional food with the buffet.

Avoid this resort at all costs if you have a food allergy. I clearly communicated my gluten allergy at every step of the way - in my initial reservation with the hotel, with the reception at check in, with the concierge when making dinner reservations, and with the wait staff at each meal. Despite being reassured at every step that I could safely eat gluten free food, I was badly glutened at my first dinner and likely my second as well. It was more than a matter of simple cross contamination. I was sick for the next three days and needed to be close to a bathroom at all times, thus ruining our very expensive vacation in paradise. Despite speaking with the hotel staff, including the dining services manager, and escalating to IHG corporate, I have not received any sort of explanation or compensation. If you don’t have a food allergy, the resort was lovely. Even so I question any hotel that cannot properly respond to a serious customer complaint.

While the location and the general amenities are very nice, the hotel didn’t take seriously my wife’s allergy (Coeliac) and she got sick during our entire stay. The other negative thing is that with this standing and the amount of money you pay, customers should at least have free boat transportation from and to the airport (~$150/person round trip) considering there is no other way to reach the hotel. If anyone plans to visit Bora Bora and spend money for a unique experience I would recommend choosing another five star hotel.

The InterContinental® Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa is truly a slice of paradise. The moment we got there, we were blown away by how beautiful it was. The overwater bungalows were spacious and luxurious, with amazing views of the turquoise-colored water and Mount Otemanu in the distance. Even though the hotel was almost full, it didn't feel crowded at all, and we loved how peaceful and laid-back it was. The food at the restaurants was very good, and we had a great time snorkeling right there at the resort. There were so many fish and the coral was stunning. But what really made this place special was the staff, especially Anton Turchaninov, the guest relationship manager. Anton was amazing; he spoke several languages, paid attention to every little detail, and genuinely cared about making our stay unforgettable. He went out of his way to help us, from the moment we checked in to even after we checked out. We highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a luxurious and unforgettable getaway in Bora Bora.

The staff, villas, restaurants, spa (ahhh, the spa!) exceeded our expectations. We were with an incentive group and everyone had a fantastic time during their stay. The food from breakfast to late night dining was oh-so delicious. Room service presentation was nothing short of elegant. The spa was relaxation at its utmost. Villas are spacious and comfortable. The staff's dedication to guest satisfaction was bar none! Thank you to the staff, especially Damien, Reyanna, Thibaud, Christophe, Sophie, Alex, and anyone else who helped to make this a trip of a lifetime!

If you ever want to know what paradise looks and feel like, then this resort is for you. We booked this with some trepidation as we have never spent this much on accommodation before. But it was worth every penny! This review is difficult to write without sounding over the top effusive, but the resort was absolutely perfect. Our over the water villa was huge and very private. I think most of us who have travelled a bit have dreamed of what an otv would be like to stay in, particularly one located in Bora Bora. Well, dream no more, this is the reality of that dream! We chose this resort over the sister resort that Intercontinental offers solely on the promise of a view of Mount Otemanu. While we were sitting on our private deck or swimming in the turquoise waters in front of the villa, seeing the view of Otemanu was magical and justified the added expense. We could gush on for hours about the service, the unique accommodation, the food and the general vibe of this resort, but to be succinct, the place was perfect. Expensive, but perfect.
