Laquinta had availability at the last minute when we had an issue at our house & had to check in without warning and were surprised there was a room! Our experience with the 1st & 2nd shift front desk staff was/is poor with the exception of the extremely helpful and kind young man seated at left desk. However, ONCE WE MET JOAN, your amazing 3rd shift FRONT DESK STAFF, WE FELT AT EASE with being able to ask for anything we need during our stay! Joan is kind, helpful, attentive, & patiently addresses our needs promptly ALWAYS HAVING THE SAME PLEASANT MOOD, and all while handling several tasks at the same time!! We will choose to wait to ask Joan (even for toilet paper, especially if the young man is not in)until she comes in at 11pm. Joan should be the face of LAQUINTA! Honestly, we appreciate Joan’s consistent & bubbly personality & approachable demeanor!! We truly can not say THANK YOU ENOUGH FOR!! No matter how absolutely busy she is she ALWAYS MAKES SURE TO MAKE EYE CONTACT, handles several guests & multi tasks while she ADDRESSES EACH GUEST EQUALLY & EFFORTLESSLY. Joan is always smiling and her moods are not up and down which can make or break a guests entire stay, truthfully!! It is bizarre that both of the ladies (both sit at the right desk) that represent Laquinta’s Hotel for both 1st and 2nd shift are rude, unprofessional, unapproachable & dismissive & disrespectful, & even confrontational. In fact, they choose the guests they want to be kind to and or use their time talking to other employees, while waving us away, and even saying GO SEE HIM, when it was necessary to approach 2nd shift as what we required was from her computer & it was absolutely horrendous & inappropriate! Furthermore, needless to say but It isn’t very cheap to stay in any hotel (especially when we have a home that is being fixed) so as guests that have been here over 4 weeks now, and pay over 900$ a week and WE HAVE TO WAIT TO SEE 3rd shift (pleasant Joan, or again the Amazimg young man that is busy on second shift, picking up all the slack. We are extremely grateful for Joan and the young man on 2nd shift (left desk) when he has a second or 2, but as guests this treatment is unacceptable!! We have been scolded and accused of putting our card near our phone when we had to ask for a room key (ONCE IN 4 weeks) from first shift woman but what was even worse was how SHE WAS BLATANTLY was apparently OVERCHARGING US FOR THE ITEMS WE GOT IN THE SMALL STORE ONLY OUT OF NECESSITY & emergency!! She wasn’t discreet & spoke loudly & bossy when she rudely commanded that the young man (left desk that just came in) OVERCHARGE US FOR AN ITEM! In fact she said right in front of me to charge us 3$ for a small tide laundry soap EACH (we purchased 3 to wash our laundry!) an extremely small box not even enough for 1 load, and the amazing young man’s response was honest, kind & courteous when he explained he always charges guests 2$ and will continue to unless he is to
