This place was a mistake. Not sure how it received so many good reviews on various 3rd party sites. Check-in went easily. Somehow we had been given a disability access room. I told them we did not need that, but that is what we were given ... #437. All the way at the end of the hallway (elevators in the middle) next to the stairwell. Not sure that was the best place for handicapped access?? So many things wrong with this room. Dirty, poor lighting, broken blinds, no closet - just a wire shelf behind a curtain, bed did not appear to be made up - just thrown together, huge stain on desk chair (urine or water? Who knows!) Stains all over thw side of the sofa, nowhere to put anything in the bathroom. Complained to the front desk and immediately given another room, #428. This was better, but still dirty and the bed about the same. The toilet had public hairs on it, to the rear of the seat, so it had not been cleaned. Also, the toilet paper had not been changed and had 3 sheets left on it. The hallways were absolutely filthy with heavily stained carpet. The elevators had plastic advertising stickers on them, but one of them had been partially ripped off in several places. As it was late, we reluctantly stayed. Contacted Delta Stays who worked with the hotel and we received a refund for the 4 nights we did not use, upon checking out the next morning. I should commend the front desk staff; they were great, sadly there was nothing they could do as the issues were predominantly about the condition of the entire hotel. It looked as if it had not been cleaned in 5 years. Ended up booking a Fairfield Suites in Ypsilanti. Cost just a little less, but was like a resort compared to this place. Actually cost just a little less also! Very disappointed with this Hilton property. We have stayed at any Hiltons around the globe, but I think a tent on the lawn would have been better than this one!
