A very satisfying living experience! First, it is very close to the UMich campus, only 15 minutes walk, and free parking is available; second, the hotel is very unique, with a history of more than 100 years, each room has a different theme, beautifully decorated, warmly furnished, and the experience is very different from those business hotels; third, the price is not expensive, classic gourmet breakfast, and a self-service kitchen is provided; fourth, the hotel owner is a Chinese compatriot, the service is thoughtful and the hospitality is warm; fifth, the surrounding area is in a wealthy area, with beautiful scenery, safe and quiet. This was our 5th stay at Stone Chalet, and every one of them has been lovely. The rooms are just exquisite—spacious, with the most comfortable beds ever, and with each detail just right. My teenage daughter loved exploring all the little items on the nightstand, mantle, etc. Breakfast is superb, with a great selection served by wonderful, long-time staff. And the neighborhood is perfect for walking/running, plus campus is a flat 10-minute walk away. We’ve already booked our next stay for later this summer.

This was one of the best lodging, hotel, BnB experiences ever. The love and care the owners give to this place, and to the guest experience, is unrivaled. It transformed a business trip into a special adventure. I got to stay in the Grand Haven, which-- as a Game of Thrones fan-- rocked my world. Thank you for great guests, great breakfasts, and pretty much anything a guest could think of wanting! ❤️🙏🏻

Overjoyed that I stumbled onto the Stone Chalet when looking at the nearby map. The experience was amazing - from the communication and instructions for what to do when you arrive, to the entire compound, and then included made-to-order breakfast. The fairy tale theming was consistent and well done but not too much. My children were overjoyed with the Cuckoo's Nest / Princess Tower area and I was super curious to tour the facility and just get the full history. It was a shame I was not able to but with so many nooks and crannies and staircases, who wouldn't want to know more? Ordering breakfast was a tad of a to-do but with the vast amount of options and the fact that everything is made-to-order and served to you fresh in the formal dining room; I get it. Thanks for a great stay and while I may never get back that way, hopefully my review will help procure more business.

Stone Chalet was a great stay for our trip to Ann Arbor. Our room was very cozy and breakfast was excellent. Really neat place to stay and close to everything! We stayed in the Encanto room, which was really fun and the theme was very well done. The team communicates very well. Thanks Stone Chalet!
