It started so well. Great location, with clean and fresh room. Nice beer garden and friendly staff. Then it all went down hill. At 8pm the music started and never stopped until 1am. The thumping seemed to vibrate through our room. We had to be up early the next day so asked for it to be turned down. It was slightly for a short time. With the noise of people spilling out into the street at 1am etc we didn’t get peace until around 2am. When we complained at checkout there was some sympathy but no compensation. How can a hotel sell rooms above their bar with thumping music until 1am? It’s completely misleading and should be flagged when booking. No doubt there are other parts of the hotel that are quieter. Very disappointed and won’t be back.

We had a delightful 2 night stay at the Bank. Our room was huge and comfortable with large windows overlooking the sea The food is good and the staff are really pleasant. We will certainly return.

We stayed at The Bank while walking the Fife Coastal Path. It is an interesting layout with the accommodation side of the building having a separate entrance beside the bar/restaurant side. This makes it very quiet and relaxing, yet half a dozen steps along the pavement bring you to the main entrance for the bar, dinner etc. The hallway is hung with memorabilia from the building’s days as a bank, and the whole including our huge room had been freshly decorated. Dinner is served in a balcony-type extension beyond the main bar, light and airy and overlooking the harbour, and with big sliding windows which presumably can be opened in hot weather. Altogether an excellent place to stay and eat, highly recommended.

Quicki stop for lunch on a wet day. Husband had a sweet potato soup which was tasteless and I had bacon and cheese fries which were absolutely appalling. Chips were wet *****s of potato with horrid bacon with huge *****s of white uncooked fat!!!! Refused to pay for the chips. My wine wasn't chilled well and husbands coffee was ok!! Avoid would e my advice!!!!

Visited many times for meals. Usually very good. Family dinner for Easter Sunday. Many items on menu not available. Meals we chose were not up to usual standard. Miserable portions of vegetables & potatoes. Service very good per usual. Hopefully just an off day.

This is not a review of the hotel as such, or of a dining experience. Just liked the look of the place, and wanted a hot drink to warm up after a long , windy walk. Ordered a glass 🥃 of coke ( poured from a can ) from the bar , and a pot 🫖 of tea ( small - got one cup from it ) and it came to an unexpectedly pricey £7.95 for 2 non-alcoholic drinks ( so don’t think we’ll be rushing back.)

The Bank is a lovely hotel very close to the centre of Anstruther. Although there is no on-site parking, there were plenty of places within a short walk to park for free. There are only a couple of parking spots at the door and these were busy all the time we were there. It is on the main road with a bus stop right outside. There is a convenience store nearby the hotel in case you’ve forgotten anything. It is a very short walk to get onto the main harbour front with lots of lovely wee shops to visit. The hotel building is a mix of one part accommodation block, another part is 2 x one bedroom rooms and in the middle is a bar, restaurant and beer garden. The room we had was one of the two in the separate block. It was very clean and had a lovely comfy bed, and although it had no views to the sea, it had a small private courtyard. This opened into the beer garden, so could be a little noisy up till closing time. The bathroom was very modern, but the shower is over the bath and a tall person would struggle to stand up full height in the shower. Because the room opened onto the courtyard, the only window was the patio door, which we were not comfortable to leave open at night. There was a fan but it would have been nicer to have the option of an open window at night. Otherwise, the room had everything you could need, lovely bedding, soft towels, TV, hairdryer, tea/coffee etc, and toiletries. The hotel has a small private garden area for guests which is right beside the beer garden, so easy to get drinks while you sit and enjoy the views. The main restaurant should be booked ahead as it is very popular, but you can also eat in the bar area or in the beer garden. The food was delicious! All in all, we really enjoyed our stay at The Bank and would recommend it to anyone travelling to the Kingdom of Fife.

Having a day out in Anstruther was recommended to go the The Bank for food. Unfortunately was disappointed. The service was slow, the place was not busy. My prawns were undercooked, no bread with the prawn cocktail.. The staff apart from one girl was rude and from the beer garden I saw the kitchen staff, that was unfortunate!!
