I’m writing this review about my stay at this hotel when it was still known as the Hilton. In 1979 my Dad was posted to Madagascar to work on a Hydro power project. He travelled to the worksite during the week while my Mum, sisters and I stayed at the Hilton for a while before finding an apartment in Tana. I can’t remember how long we stayed but in my memory it seems liked months. I remember fondly exploring the grounds, eating in the restaurant everyday (frog legs were a favourite) and looking for treasures like silk flowers that were left behind after a big weddings in the reception hall. We never had complaints about insects and the food was good..except once, on my birthday the manager of the hotel asked what I would like the chef to make for me and I grinned and said Yorkshire pudding. They produced very good French cuisine but the Chef was baffled when it came to the Yorkshire pud and although he tried hard the texture left a lot to be desired. We eventually moved to the Andekaleka in the jungle and in 1982 we left to head back to the west after the job was completed. I’d love to see some photos of the hotel dating back to the 1970 if there are any.

All staff is nice and willing.
Unfortunately the property itself seems to be left in disrepair.
The worst part is the lack of a proper restaurant/chef: food quality is below par. Breakfast is appalling, very little choice and poor quality.
Definitely, as it is now, not a 5 star hotel.

This is a 5 star property with excellent service, nice and very clean room, a wonderful pool and the best massage I have ever received, the restaurants were great....I loved my stay here and highly recommend it.

Es un excelente hotel. Atención de primera, habitaciones impecables, excelente atención de todo el personal. Tiene una piscina grande, restaurante en esa área con rica comida. La limpieza de las habitaciones es nítida. Lo recomiendo!

ツアーで訪問。間をあけて計2泊したが、今回の旅行ではこういった都市型のホテルは唯一だったので、それなりに新鮮に感じてしまった。タイトルではヒルトンとなっているが、現在はカールトン。買収されたらしい。 首都中心部に近いアヌシ湖畔（道路を隔てて）に建ち、アンタナナリヴにしては珍しい高層（かつてはこの国で一番高かったとか）のホテル。湖（といっても大きな池といった感じだが）越しの丘の上には夜には国旗の三色にライトアップされた女王宮も望むことができる。部屋の設備はなんの問題もなし。ドライヤーもついている。部屋に入って少しすると、女性従業員がかわいらしく包まれたチョコレートを配りに来た。海外のホテルでは初めての経験。 朝食はプールのある中庭に面したレストラン。この中庭に朝出てみると、何種類もの野鳥が来ているのを楽しめた。 Wi-Fiもちゃんとつながった。（他のホテルでもつながったが、この国では一番よくつながったのは確か。

Apres avoir tester plusieurs restos de la ville on a fini par comprendre que le meilleur etait chez nous, c est a dire au Carlton. On a pleinement profiter tout au long du sejours des delicieux et varies plats du chef Sebastien Schipman. Chacun est a recommander. Merci aussi au personnel d acceuil a l entree et la qualite des massages.

Booked a room at 9'th floor and realized the sounds from the street was very loud, not only from cars passing by, but also by barking dogs. It seems the hotel has not upgraded their windows to prevent noise from the street since it was build which made it very difficult to sleep. Our feedback to our tour operator: Not to be recommended!

Estuvimos en dos ocasiones, al llegar a Madagascar i antes de nuestra salida del país: la habitación no varió, suficiente pero pequeña en ambas ocasiones, pero la atención fue mucho mejor en la segunda ocasión. Lo del desayuno ya fue increíble, al llegar estuvimos en el bar y nos pusioeron por delante lo que els pareció, nada de elegir, en cambio al final de nuestro viaje gozamos de un buffet excepcionalmente variado y realmente de calidad, por lo que parece si somos pocos clientes la consideración es diferente. En cuanto al restaurante, cenar fue una odisea, ni nos atendían ni nos trajeron lo que pedimos y tardaron muchísimos aunque no estaba ni medio lleno...
