Disappointing Experience at Jinhai Hotel
I would not recommend Jinhai Hotel due to its subpar cleanliness and amenities. The small room was dirty, and the bathroom was no exception. Additionally, there was no closet space or hooks for hanging clothes.
Considering the low price, I didn't expect luxury, but basic cleanliness and functionality are a must. Unfortunately, Jinhai Hotel fell short.

The location is good, there are signs in Chinese, the front desk staff are friendly, and the room is clean. I forgot to bring my phone charger, and the fast charger in the room didn't work, so I told the hotel owner, and they let me put my phone on the bar to charge.

Located behind the city hall, this old Chinese hotel has somewhat dated facilities, but the rooms are clean and each has a kitchenette so you can cook your own meals! The beds are soft and comfortable! There's also hot water! Perfect for Africa!
The outlets in the rooms can be used with Chinese appliances! Amazing! The landlady explained that the voltage in the capital is unstable, and there are occasional power outages at night, but they have their own generator, so it's manageable. Just be careful to unplug your phone charger when there's no power outage, or it might burn out.
Compared to a $100 night's accommodation, this is great value! WeChat payment is accepted!
Service: Airport pick-up service is available; you can contact them in advance. The landlady is very funny and friendly.
Cleanliness: Ask the front desk for anything you need (laundry detergent, toilet paper, etc.). In the morning, I saw workers cleaning, and the walls in the room had been repainted.

The room was simply furnished with a water heater, kettle, and Wi-Fi. The mattress was very comfortable, the owner was very nice, the food in the restaurant was delicious, and the view from the rooftop was beautiful. I'll definitely come again.

If this hotel can still be called a hotel, then it's more like a farmer's house. First of all, the guest rooms are located above a bus station and a street full of stalls selling miscellaneous goods. The room smelled terrible! The blankets and pillows reeked of cigarette smoke. I checked in at midnight, the main door was locked, no one answered the phone, and no one opened the door. Frustrated, I turned around and found a light on at their side door. To get in, I had to leave my passport as collateral and pay another fee. Several rooms reeked, so I had no choice but to choose one with a slightly less odor and open the window. But the room was dark, no electricity, no Wi-Fi, and where was I supposed to find another room at 1 AM? I had no choice but to make do. In the morning, the room smelled even worse; it turned out to be exhaust fumes from the bus station downstairs!
I cancelled the booking through Ctrip, which took two hours, and then moved out to find another guesthouse, which was more than 200 yuan cheaper.
Sometimes online prices are unclear; you might think a price of 100 yuan is problematic, but 200 yuan is just as bad! Paying over 200 yuan for a few hours is a huge rip-off. Definitely only book one day in the future... and then look for another place to avoid being scammed.
This might not be a matter of the platform personally inspecting the accommodations, but rather a problem with the middleman. However, it will still affect the platform's reputation, won't it?
A couple of days ago, I also gave up after unsuccessful negotiations with Darei Hotel. I was surprised to find that the platform's partner refunded the full amount of over 220 yuan for two nights' accommodation back to my card. I'm grateful to Ctrip's partner for this unexpected benefit. Please don't take my unintentional harsh words to heart. Everyone is working towards a better accommodation environment, providing safe and reassuring accommodations for long-distance travelers, ensuring a win-win situation for all three parties – that's the ultimate goal, right?

This hotel is located in the center of Antananarivo. It is owned by a Chinese person and has a Chinese restaurant. The price is reasonable and just right. However, the surrounding area is chaotic with a market and you can hear the calls of bus drivers from early in the morning, so it is recommended for those who don't mind that.
