Daiwa Roynet Hotel Aomori Reviews

Extremely close to the station with a great view and a large bed. We were on the 14th floor (top floor) and experienced a 6.9 magnitude earthquake at 7:30 AM. It was terrifying; we scrambled to pack our belongings and rushed to an inland area, still quite shaken.

My first stop in Tohoku was Aomori, and I booked the Daiwa hotel. It's a bit of a walk from the station, but it's not far from the local product hall. The single room was as expected – small but clean and well-equipped. I've stayed at Daiwa hotels in several different cities, and only the Kobe one had excellent service; the others were just so-so. Maybe that's how they treat Chinese guests.

The location is fantastic, very close to the transportation hub, making it convenient to get anywhere. The room view from the window is also excellent, with a clear sight of the distant sea and a bridge. The service is attentive and patient. Highly recommended.

Excellent hotel with very friendly staff. The breakfast included local Aomori specialties, which were delicious and highly recommended! The room was spacious and very relaxing.

Facilities: Well-equipped. Aside from the essential furniture, the room also had a recliner and a round table. The only downside was the lack of a large public bath. Hygiene: Like most hotels in Japan, it was clean and tidy.

Hotel is awesome. About 10 mins from Aomori station and 5 mins for ASPAM. It’s also close 5mins to a famous local miso mill curry ramen which is a must try! Queue starting forming 15 mins before opening time. Great central location to base your stay in Aomori! Room was a double room with Queen bed. Quiet and restful place to recharge for the next day!

The hotel's location is super convenient! I booked on the same day and it was excellent value for money. It's about a 3-5 minute walk from Aomori Station, and there are plenty of great restaurants nearby. The Fish and Vegetable Market, Ichiba Sushi, and Jiraigen are all within walking distance. Plus, there's a Lawson convenience store right downstairs. The room size isn't small for Japan, and all the amenities are easily accessible.

I rarely write reviews, but I'm a huge fan of this hotel! Highly recommend it. While not right next to Aomori Station, it's just a few hundred meters across from it, about a five-minute walk, and there's a convenience store downstairs. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly when I checked in. You can choose the number of key cards you want and pick up toiletries yourself, including bath salts. The room layout is excellent, and most importantly, the bathroom is spacious, with a separate bathtub and shower! It's very clean and hygienic, a big thumbs up. Plus, on my first morning there, I got to experience a local festival, which was super lively! I'll definitely be back to see the cherry blossoms next time 🌸

The hotel was close to the station (about 10min walk) and where a lot of different restaurants are. Rooms were clean and a great variety of amenities was available. View from the corridor was great and from thw room we could see the mountains in the distance.

Environment: The hotel is located on the main street, less than a 10-minute walk from Aomori Station, making it very easy to find. The overall decor of the hotel feels quite new. Service: Like most Japanese hotels, check-in and check-out are self-service, but the front desk staff are helpful in guiding you through the process and are quite patient in their explanations. Facilities: The room I was given was excellent, a twin room with ample space. The bathroom and toilet are connected but have a glass partition for effective wet/dry separation, and the space is also very generous. The view outside the window was also great! Upon checking out, I also discovered that the hotel has a gym.

It's been half a month since I returned from Aomori, and I'm just now getting around to writing this hotel review. This is my second time choosing a 'Daiwa' brand hotel; my previous experience at the Kyoto Station location was so-so, but the Aomori branch was generally quite good. Here are my specific thoughts: **I. Pros** 1. **Convenient Location:** The hotel is situated in the central area near JR Aomori Station. From the station's East Exit, walk straight along the main road where Toyoko Inn is located for about 6-7 minutes, and you'll reach it. Nearby attractions such as the Tourist Museum (the PAM PAM apple pie inside is a bit sweet but has a very crispy crust), Nebuta House, A-Factory, and Hirota Shrine are all within walking distance. 2. **Abundant Dining Options Nearby:** There are many restaurants along the way to the hotel, including Aomori Shokudo, which often has a queue. I tried the scallops when they opened in the afternoon, and they were fresh and delicious. The Aomori Seafood Market, about an 8-minute walk from the hotel, is also highly recommended. Go early in the morning to experience the locals' 'seafood freedom'. 3. **Smooth Check-in Experience:** The hotel lobby is on the second floor, and there's a Lawson convenience store downstairs. Guests can directly access the lobby through the store using their room card. I checked in around noon; although there were self-check-in machines, a staff member proactively assisted with manual check-in. They were enthusiastic and accommodating, fulfilling my request for a higher floor. Disposable toiletries, including facial cleanser, toner, lotion, toothbrush sets, and tea bags, were available for self-service next to the front desk. The toner had a nice texture. 4. **Well-equipped Guest Room:** My room was on the 14th (top) floor. Although small, it was fully functional with an expansive window view. The bathroom was spacious with a wet/dry separation and no steps between it and the bedroom, preventing tripping hazards. The bath amenities felt good, but the conditioner had a slight urea-like scent. 5. **Thorough Cleaning and Service:** I stayed for three consecutive nights. Each day, after I hung out the 'Please clean my room' sign, I returned to a clean and tidy room. The room provided two pillows of different heights, and the bedding had no noticeable disinfectant smell. A complimentary bottle of drinking water was provided daily, a thoughtful touch. 6. **Corridor Signage:** There was a sign in the corridor indicating that guests could activate TV channels. **II. Areas for Improvement** 1. **Small Room Size:** My 28-inch suitcase couldn't be fully opened on the luggage rack without blocking the walkway. 2. **Lack of Hanging Space in Bathroom:** After the wet/dry separation, there was no place to hang clothes. Washed clothes at night had to be hung on the indoor drying rack, and water drops could easily fall onto the carpet. 3. **Central Air Conditioning Limitations:** In April, the central air conditioning only offered heating mode, with no option for cooling. This was a minor inconvenience for guests who wanted ventilation or to cool down. **Overall Rating:** The hotel has a high rating, and my overall experience was good. It's highly recommended. If I visit Aomori again, I would still consider staying here.

Location of the hotel was very good and ideal for us, close to all the places that we wanted to visit, and near to the Aoimori station which is very convenient. The room size was spacious for Japanese standard.

Overall was a good choice for travellers. A lot of food choices around the hotel, and lawson right at level 1 very convenient too. Approx. 5 mins walk to Aomori Station.

Room with nice view. Advisable to change breakfast menu each day so that the customer staying more than 2 days could enjoy different menu.
