We stayed at Vantaris Palace in October-November 2023. Two adults and two teenage kids. Location: The hotel is located on the beach and has a dedicated piece of it too. Easy drive from Chania airport (about 45 min). The hotel is on the outskirts of the village and the nearest supermarket (quite decent) is just in a 3 min walking distance. The hotel grounds are very green and well looked after. There are lots of pretty palm trees there. Car park: The car park is large and there is also plenty of parking on the nearby lane. Reception/Main hall: The main hall has lots of sofas and armchairs and coffee tables. There is also an adjacent bar there and a jewellery shop. Rooms: The rooms are very clean and have all necessary facilities, such as a mini-fridge, a kettle, a safe box (at extra 2 EUR per day), a TV set, an Air Conditioner, all shower accessories (shampoo, shower gels, soap bars...). The balcony door has a sliding anti-mosquito net which can help a lot (there were not many mosquitos during out stay there anyway.) One small and one large towel per person get changed daily. A pair of soft slippers per guest is provided too. You also get a large good quality beach/pool towel per person which can get exchanged twice a day if desired. Swimming pools: There is a selection of swimming pools of various sizes for adults and kids. The pools are open between 10:00 - 18:00 and there are plenty of free sun loungers and parasols around the pools. A lifeguard is present there too, so the kids can be left unsupervised if necessary. Restaurant/Food: There are plenty of tables of various sizes both indoors and outdoors by the swimming pool. The food variety and quality is great and is probably better than in the village tavernas. On Wednesdays they do Greek nights with traditional barbeques (souvlaki, gyros, etc..) in addition to the usual selection. Entertainment / Games rooms / Sports facilities: During our stay there were visiting musicians, dancers and other entertainers in the evenings. On the Greek night there was a traditional Greek band and dancers. Not too loud or noisy, so you can relax quietly in your room or in other areas if you want to avoid the evening music. There is a tennis court, an outdoor table tennis as well as an indoor games room. Spa/Massage: (We have not used these so cannot comment). Beach bar / Taverna: There is a dedicated taverna + beech bar - it offers a good choice of meals for lunch and they serve great Greek coffee! The food and drinks can be charged to the room. Beach: The beach is mostly sandy with occasional small pebble patches. There are sun loungers and parasols (3 EUR rent per bed per day and can be charged to the room, so there is no need to carry cash to the beach). There are fresh water showers too. Staff: Very nice, friendly and helpful staff everywhere! Overall impresson: Excellent, all of us liked it very much and we are likely to go to this place again.

If you look, you will always find something to complain about, but it is a beautiful, modern hotel near the beach, with very friendly and attentive staff. The breakfast buffet and evening buffet were very extensive and delicious. So if you want a modern, clean hotel with a quiet pool area and good quality right on the beach, the Vantaris Palace **** is exactly the right place for you.

We returned this year to Vantaris Palace where we had already stayed in 2016. We traveled as a family with our 8 year old daughter (this year). Firstly, the location of the hotel is ideal for those who love long, gently sloping sandy beaches. Please note that it can happen that the flag is red for several days in a row, which was the case during our stay (3 days): Kavros beach is known to be customary for this reason (but especially in the month 'august). Then take the opportunity to go to the neighboring Kournas Lake (by small train) and/or visit Chania, Rethymno or Heraklion (bus stop near the hotel). Speaking of the beach, we were pleasantly surprised (compared to 2016) to see that the deckchairs and umbrellas were now free for all-inclusive guests (as was the in-room safe), which is not still not mentioned in the hotel descriptions from tour operators. The beach bar allows you to hydrate at any time of the day without almost moving from your deckchair, which is very pleasant. Beach towels are provided (in the room). We were accommodated on the second and last floor (with elevator) with a pleasant sea view (not "seafront") in the morning for a fairly low additional cost. The room is large, renovated, with an empty mini-bar (lack of staff, we were told). However, you can use the latter after having collected free bottles of water (in an all-inclusive formula) from the hotel's various bars. Cleaning is done every morning. On the other hand, we do not recommend WiFi (payable, 1 euro per day), the speed of which was very reduced (at least in our room). In terms of catering, we found a very wide and interesting choice in the morning and evening (but much smaller at lunchtime, a large part of the clientele undoubtedly being half-board). The cuisine is good with lots of Greek dishes (starters and desserts) and, for the record, fresh orange juice every morning. A small downside on the meat (no beef, mainly pork and chicken, except duck breast one evening). The animation is extremely gentle (nothing during the day, live music in the evening). In conclusion, we really liked the hotel (even more than in 2016) and we plan to return despite the 2 hours transfer from the airport (this is the price to pay for the sandy beach of Kavros !). The value for money is very reasonable, certainly the best among the hotels in Kavros this year, now with a "real" all-inclusive formula. If the club formula is not essential for you, we recommend it.

The Hotel is clean, well located near the sea. A wide choice of self-service food is offered. We had half board. On the other hand, consumption remains high. At this time of year there were no aminations; which is a shame A DJ one evening near the bar but without space to dance, just to consume I think that in summer the a**osphere is different.

Superb hotel recently renovated and well maintained. A shame but really a shame to charge such expensive prices on drinks and not charge for the deckchairs on the hotel beach (really disappointed) No drinks included during half board meals. Price of bottled water €4 for still water and €6.50 for sparkling water. €4.5 for sodas. Around €30 for a bottle of white wine. €9.50 for cocktails. A lack of animation in general. In short, a shame!!!!

Superb hotel, good and varied food, top staff, fantastic Greek evenings, all in a beautiful location between Chania and Rethymno, close to Lake Kournas. If we had to find a single fault, it would be the duration of the transfer from Heraklion.

It's a very decent all-inclusive hotel in Crete with primarily European clientele (August 2023). Advantages: - Very good location and access from both Chania and Heraklion airport. - An excellent sandy beach with easy and gradual access to sea and morning walks. Warm sea temperatures (compared to some other locations around Chania we tested). - Great restaurant/service with a variety of food options. Live performances / music in the evening. Some disadvantages: - Somewhat limited territory with relatively small swimming pools. So much so that the restaurant terrace is directly adjacent to the main pool, which is not a problem by itself, but feels a bit crowded.

Kids friendly resort. Bang on the beach , best for family with kids. It has kids activities too and kids care so that you get some couple time to enjoy. Awesome food and great ambience. Every night it has some events after dinner. Great pool and staff.
