My daughter and I stayed here on May 12 and 13, 2022, in order to attend my granddaughter's graduation from Cal Poly Humboldt. We were scheduled to stay on May 14, but left to stay at the Hampton Inn across the street instead. The room was the worst I have ever stayed in - the toilet didn't flush properly, no hot water on May 13, the towels were about absorbent as paper towels, the TV did not turn on, the one blanket on the bed was too thin to keep me warm (no other blankets available) and the floor was dirty. Avoid this place.

Horrible, what hotel allows dirty dogs that pee and crap all over the room ? Dogs, cats, whatever pet you want in there , they allow. Certain religions like Muslims are not allowed to be near dogs. and they poop all over and then they use chemicals to disinfect that ? HORRIBLE. THe CEO of red roof should be fired immediately for creating this policy

I never expected a national hotel chain to rent rooms loaded with cockroaches. We killed at least six of them. There were only two small towels in the room for two and one was frayed. Security in the hotel was questionable as well. The side doors of the hotel were propped open each time I went out in the morning and night. I closed them myself. The room itself was nice however the roaches were not. I found one crawling into my luggage. The hotel refunded my money for my nights stay without any questions. It appeared that the supervisor knew of the problem and had the look of, not again. My expectation of budget hotels are relatively low. I expect to find clean, safe rooms that are bug free and offer the basics.

The one positive about this place is the woman who checked us in was friendly. Other than that, everything about this place was gross/unpleasant. On the newly made bed, there were lots of random hairs and what looked like boogers on the sheets along with dirty marks. I also found random bugs on the floor. I didn't get a single good night's sleep because there were people hanging out/talking late at night by the vending machines, in the hallways, and outside my room. Our stay was for 3 nights but we ended up leaving early because we couldn't bear to stay another night in this place.

Deadbolt doesn't lock. The room seemed clean. Except no one does windows apparently. Hallways look like they haven't been vaccumed or shampooed in quite awhile. Two crushed cigarettes in the hallway. Noisy neighbors. Outside the building looks dirty, in need of repair. Anyone can come in the back door, it's left blocked open. Highlight was the beautiful woman who did my reservation 😍. Maybe that could be a theme "ghetto hotel..live the dream".

The hallways and room were filthy! There was dried dog urine? on the floor of the room. The stairwell had some sort of dried substance in the corner. There was so much dirt and debris on the hallway carpeting. Luckily we were able to get a room across the road and get our money back.

We requested a Handicap Room.....doorways so narrow...no wheelchair could get into bathroom..NO GRAB BARS inside bathroom!!....toilet had been missed during last "cleaning".....apparent feces on toilet tank!! Yikes! Sliding glass doors were dirty.....garbage all over "lawn" outside of sliders. Hallways had dirty trays and trash strewn throughout. Access to building wide open from street....and parking lot. Staff busy outside smoking with friends....poor representation ....poorly managed. Outside needs much attention....painting, cleaning, new asphalt...perhaps a bulldozer? Will NEVER stop at another Red Roof!

Do not stay here if you can avoid it. I rented two room the night of 12/29/21. Both were equally bad -- okay, not actually. Only one had actually poop pieces on the toilet seat. I cleaned it up myself since it was after midnight and I was too exhausted to deal with waiting for hotel staff to clean it and I didn't want my teen boys to be even more disgusted than they were (they are high school exchange students from Europe and I was too embarrassed to tell them about the toilet on top of everything else). The almost worse thing, though, was when I told the staff they just sort of apologized, but didn't offer to comp my room or anything. The other thing is that there's no security inside the hotel. At least one of the exterior doors leading to the first floor hallway has no functioning lock -- anyone can just walk in off the street.

This motel is older and is run down. It is not that clean and has garbage in places there should. not be any, like in the hallways. Most of the exit doors are blocked off with a cone and there are all kinds of signs taped to the door saying don't use it. I am not sure what that is about. The hotel smells musty. We stayed in room 252 and we could hear the ice machine banging every half hour or so.....plus we could hear people using the vending machine all night long. Also there is no elevator so if you are older you will have to lug your bags up the stairs. The rooms have been updated. They had newer flooring and the beds were comfy. The rooms are large and the tv worked well. They have a tiny vanity and the bathroom functions just fine but is dated. We paid $70 so I guess we got what we paid for.
