We went to Barcelo Nura in mid May ‘24. The front line staff were awesome so many thanks to Ruben, Anna, Ivan, Barbara, Karen, Merce, Eva and the ‘younger’ Carlos! However, the hotel and its management are a different story. The buffet restaurant was ok but the second al a carte restaurant doesn’t open till the end of May. The downstairs bar was ok (though the entertainment was pretty bad) but the rooftop bar with lovely views of the sea doesn’t open till the end of May. The signposts in the hotel were unclear so you have to find your own way around, further no local information was on clear display as the hotel is quite isolated. When it comes to the bedrooms, there is absolutely no privacy due to the glass toilet doors which do not close completely, the lighting is bad as you can’t leave a light on for the toilet without lighting up half the bedroom and, unless you want to watch the BBC World News, don’t bother with the TV. The pools are freezing and there was no visible place to change the pool towels, even the cushions for the sunbeds didn’t turn up until our last day. Finally, if you go All Inclusive, be careful. You can’t check in till 3pm on your first day but on your last day, it stops at Noon so you would have to pay for anything you consume after. We won’t be going back as this hotel is not for us. It seemed unprepared for full paying guests in May so have no idea what it will be like at full capacity!
