The Westin Crystal City Reagan National Airport

I expect more from a Westin. Nothing really bad, just pretty ordinary, on par with a Marriott Courtyard. The first thing was when we checked in there were only three check-in spots at their counter serviced by two people. We had to wait 10 minutes. Not great but not awful. The hotel bar is right in the lobby immediately after you enter the hotel. So sitting in bar you get every draft from the opening of the hotel doors and every distraction from people checking in. The hotel notes that their “restaurant” behind the wall from the bar serves food all day. We went down there at 11:00 am and were greeted by a sign that the breakfast buffet ended at 10:30. No one was around and it was obvious it was closed. it was also a fairly unattractive space. The rooms were small. There was no chair, other than a desk chair in the room. So if you wanted to sit comfortably you had to sit on the bed. Bathroom was small and difficult for two people to navigate. Room was a little worn, nicks here and there. Pillows were cheap clumpy foam types. On the positive note, very easy to get to airport and DC and the fitness center was very good. Closest restaurant or other services were about a ½ mile walk. if you are doing business near the area and don’t need any hotel amenities the Westin is a clean convenient place. The hotel is in need of a remodel and updating.

Do not rely on this property having a complimentary shuttle to the airport. Despite inquiring about the shuttle schedule and being assured the shuttle would run all day on the half hour, there was no shuttle available at 3 pm on a Sunday afternoon. After waiting nearly 30 min and getting no indication on when a driver would be available, we resorted to Uber, which was about $25 before tip, despite the airport being only 1 mile away. Also, the hotel bathroom was minuscule, quite possibly the smallest bathroom we’ve ever encountered in any Marriott property as Lifetime Titanium members. There are plenty of Bonvoy properties in this area. Choose another one. I would have given only 1 star, but I did have a pleasant encounter with the Food & Beverage Manager who apologized on behalf of the rude front desk manager.

Stayed here for one night in April 2024. This hotel is close to the Crystal City Metro. It’s clean, quiet, and above all, very comfortable. My room was large and well-appointed. I really enjoyed the comfortable robe as well as the lavender balm on the nightstand. I slept really well here!

The front desk staff was amazing; so helpful & polite. The parking & internet fees are absurd. Overall, nice & quiet stay.

Flight canceled and luggage lost. Front desk supplied me with a toiletry kit. Juan at the bar very kind and had an excellent cocktail and flatbread meal. Rooms were clean and bed very comfy. Also liked the lavender roller ball offered on the nightstand. Free shuttle back to airport definitely helped ease my worries during this travel experience.

Service was great but room and disappointing, never had a hot shower, condition felt worn.

A clean and comfortable property with upgrades to the bathroom. They charge $15/day for Internet unless you book direct and are a Bonvoy member. If you go on a weekend you can park free after 4 on Friday in a nearby public lot (there is one half a block down from the Crystal City metro station) and avoid the $40/day hotel parking fee.
