The service attitude is terrible. I knocked on the door several times in the morning and asked if I wanted to clean the room. I was told that there was no need to clean the room. Before check-out, I came several times to ask when check-out was, and my tone was very bad.

It is an older hotel with good service, but the facilities are old and the air conditioner in the corridor is very low. I turned off the air conditioner in the room in July, and the air-conditioning came in through the crack of the door, and it was a bit cold

My flight was cancelled so I needed to find a place to stay. The location was very convenient for DCA airport, either by metro (2 stops) or car and connected to the mall. Following Ritz Carlton’s standard, all staff was incredibly respectful, caring and attentive without being stifling. Ordered in-room dining for dinner and it was okay, but nothing special. Presentation and service of it was impeccable. When checking in, I was unexpectedly upgraded to club floor, which was very kind of them, especially after a long day of canceled and rebooked flights. Please be sure to treat the staff kindly, as it is the right thing to do. If I am in the area again, I will happily return.

We had no idea where to stay and decided the ritz Carlton. Little did we know that the hotel was connected to the mall we traveled from Virginia to visit! It was an absolute time saver and the most convenient hotel we’ve ever stayed in….besides Disney World 😁. Had the best time! Would recommend to all and will only be staying at this hotel when visiting DC.

Amazing room and staff. A must stay in the DMV area for a luxurious experience.
The hotel is conveniently located across from the DC Smithsonian Institutions and the National Mall. There is a subway on site.

The hotel is lovely and the staff are courteous and helpful. It’s connected to a huge mall, which can be fun, and helps with the disappointing aspects of the hotel. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. It’s fantastic to have an in room espresso machine for a morning or late afternoon cup. The Metro station is right there, two stops and you’re in DC. I attended a wedding and the elegance of the hotel showed nicely. Sadly the food was horrible and not edible. The steak was overdone and tasteless, a waste of a good piece of meat. The mushroom ravioli were overcooked, hard and gross. I’ve been here before and the food was delicious. The catering staff should be ashamed of such poor quality food. Go to the food court, albeit fast food, to eat.

This was the least “ritzy” Ritz Carlton I’ve stayed in. I usually enjoy the exclusivity and refinement for the hundreds per night that is charged but this was clearly an acquisition property that hasn’t been properly converted. The rooms were pretty basic looking. My bed sheets smelled funny (not properly washed) and had a hole in them. The TV wasn’t working (neither was my sister’s TV 8 floors above me - felt like an outage but they assured me it wasn’t). Turndown service left a bathroom sink full of murky water for me to drain. It rained the whole time we were there so they provided us with umbrellas and towels (a plus) but we felt hounded to return the umbrellas and have to explain that we would be leaving again soon and it was still raining (a minus). The only thing that was on par with the Ritz Carlton name was the service. They were pretty prompt and attentive when we did actually make a request. All to say I felt like perhaps my money would have been better spent getting a more elevated room at a “lesser” hotel name.
