The hotel room is as cool and clean as other hotels in Iceland. Because there are no street lights, it is very suitable for photographing the aurora. I just don’t know why I was given a room at the farthest end.

The rooms were clean and modern but the awesome view of the mountains was the best part.

This winter we stayed the second time in Arnarstapi Hotel, as we enyoyed our first stay in summer 2019. The rooms are functional and clean with a great view. The staff was very friendly and kind and managed to fulfill our needs. What we do not understand is the decision of the management not to serve dinner when the hotel is open. In wintertime there is no other possibility to have your dinner in Arnarstapi. So you have to drive to another place to eat after an exhausting day. I do not want to imagine how you could do this if driving conditions are really bad! Thanks to the great and friendly staff, which would get five stars. Our worse rating is caused by the questionable managent decision.

There are not a lot of options if you want an overnight stop in this part of the world and the company behind this seem to have a monopoly on accommodation and food. This accommodation is clean and comfortable. Minimalistic but that is Iceland. Service is impersonal. Entry is via a coded key safe, you are not going to see anyone here. It was frustrating to pay twice - a previous paid booking in 2020, cancelled due to Covid, resulted in a credit that expired before we could travel again - and no way you can speak to anyone at this place. We only stayed here because there are really no other options.

This was such a unique place to stay. The setting is incredible with a cliffside walk right outside. The room was quite small and no extra pillows or blankets, and it was really utilitarian but fine. The restaurant food was mediocre at best but I understand why it's so expensive because it's soooo rural. If you stay here keep in mind that there's not really anything around for over an hour. BUT, we saw a spectacular northern lights display around 8pm and it was absolutely one of the highlights of the trip so far. I'm not sure I'd drive that far out of the way to stay there again but it was memorable and unique so I'm glad we did.

We liked this hotel. It was very clean and comfy. Nice bed. We saw the aurora borealis just outside our room, that was amazing! We didn't have the best experience with the breakfast. Eggs were gone and when we asked the lady about them she wasn't very nice about it. Otherwise I believe they are a very good choice to stay around the area!
