The Rarotongan Beach Resort & Lagoonarium

I had already paied for my stay when I booked however they changed. I didn't remember whether I had paied or not because booking a few month ago. I realized thet when I checked my bank account. It takes time to communicate and they haven't apologized :( The room is dark and looks old. I enjoyed snorkeling at lagoon. Good for young people and family with kids

Stayed here for a week. Snorkeling right out front of the resort is amazing and very convenient. Rooms are in ok condition but definitely need some updating as does the whole resort. Service at the restaurant/ bar is very slow , be prepared to wait! You have to line up for everything and there’s no table service. Breakfast is poor. Toast and cereal and it runs out quick and slow to replenish. We didn’t think we cared that much about service but after this stay we obviously do. Kids loved it here though, but 5 days would have been plenty.

We just returned from 10 nights at The Rorotongan. Eight of us, ranging from 6 to 55 years of age. The rooms were not the newest, however they were clean & had everything we needed. They were serviced daily by lovely friendly cleaning ladies. The staff went above & beyond to make our holiday unforgettable. From reception, bar staff, chiefs to kids club we could not speak more highly. They work tremendously long hours, yet do it always with a beautiful smile. Thank you all so much. We will remember you all. We will return & would definatly without a second thought stay at The Rorotongan.

Our family of five recently spent an unforgettable 10 nights at the Rarotongan Beach Resort, and we cannot speak highly enough of our stay. From the moment we arrived at the resort, we were immersed in a tropical paradise that offered crystal clear waters, vibrant marine life, and a large range of activities that kept us entertained throughout our visit. The lagoon and reef snorkeling were absolutely phenomenal. With crystal clear water and an abundance of tropical fish right on our doorstep, every snorkelling session was an adventure. The resort's kayaks and stand-up paddleboards were also a huge hit with the whole family, providing endless hours of fun on the water. A special shout-out goes to the activities manager and his fantastic team, who truly made our stay thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining. The range of activities offered was impressive and diverse. We loved the Ika Mata cooking class, coconut husking demonstrations, ukulele and island drumming lessons, and the hilariously fun crab races. Each activity was a unique experience that added to the overall enjoyment of our holiday. The staff at Rarotongan Beach Resort were exceptional, radiating warmth, friendliness, and a great sense of humour. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable. Beyond the activities team, other staff members also contributed significantly to our wonderful experience. The chefs, who greeted our kids by name every day, added a personal touch to our dining experiences. Chris, the maintenance plumber, was incredibly helpful and resolved any issues with a friendly demeanor and a positive attitude. Our rooms were clean, comfortable, and with an island style that perfectly complemented the beautiful garden surroundings. We found that arriving with a ready to relax attitude and a sense of humour enhanced our stay even further, allowing us to fully embrace the laid-back island vibe. As a family, we all loved our holiday, particularly our stay at the Rarotongan Beach Resort. We are already planning our return visit and can’t wait to experience this slice of paradise again.

We needed a hotel for the last two nights of our island stay. The pictures on the booking site make this hotel look 100% better than it is. I feel very sorry for the staff as every single day they are trying to run this huge hotel knowing that there are so many things wrong with top management, they take the brunt of the guests frustrations. The rooms are very tatty, doors dont open, the safe dosent work, the bathrooms are murky and the maze of passages make it difficult to find your room. The WiFi is exorbitant. the food is so bad, tinned fruit at breakfast! The lagoon is lovely but its the same as all the way around this lovely island. There are SO many better places to stay, the whole place needs a complete revamp. Wish we hadnt ended our holiday there it was just awful.
