JR Inn Asahikawa's location is right by the station. The service was so-so, but the hotel's location is great. We booked the largest room type, which was very comfortable, and complimentary bottled water was provided daily. There's a large Aeon supermarket right downstairs. The breakfast wasn't good and probably not very suitable for Chinese tastes; it seemed to be outsourced. I suggest they could optimize it further.

After arriving at Asahikawa JR Station, you don't even need to exit the station to get to the hotel, which is super convenient. It's also quite easy to catch a bus to Asahiyama Zoo from the station front, but if you go late, there might be a lot of people queuing and you might not get a seat.

I highly recommend JR Inn Asahikawa! First off, the location is unbeatable – it's just about 20 meters to the left as you exit the JR station. There's a supermarket on the ground floor where you can grab food and meals. The hotel lobby has a public lounge area with manga books, a coffee machine, and a large public bath where you can shower and soak. Bathrobes are also provided in the rooms.
Next to the lobby, there's a laundry room. Washing costs 300 JPY and drying is 100 JPY. The clothes came out really clean, and the whole wash and dry cycle took a little over an hour, which was very convenient.
For a king-sized room at 300 JPY a night, the quality of this hotel is truly exceptional. Plus, all the toiletries, including the hand soap, are by POLA.
Great location, excellent service, spotless cleanliness, and a fantastic environment – I truly can't recommend it enough!

Seriously can't recommend this hotel enough! The rooms are small but truly have everything you need. The best parts are the public bath and the lounge, both free to use, plus they have a huge selection of manga to read.
The location is absolutely perfect – less than a 3-minute walk to both the JR station and the bus stop, and there's a mall right downstairs, so you'll never worry about food or drinks!
If you're visiting Hokkaido in winter, you absolutely have to come to Asahikawa; the snow here is so much thicker than in Sapporo.

I stayed at JR INN for three nights and tried three different rooms. The 24-square-meter twin room was the best; it was on the highest floor, the 11th, with a vast view outside the window. It also had a small round table and two armchairs, making it feel very spacious.
