Breakfast is not really included as such. Only the continental buffet. This is cereal, fruits, cereal bars, baked items and a large selection of cakes, including mince pies, which was odd for breakfast. The hot breakfast requires a surcharge to be paid, something I’ve never experienced before. The full English would be best described as part English breakfast, with no sausages, tomatoes, or mushrooms included which is a bit of an insult when you’re paying a surcharge. I can’t fault the service, or anything else, but this felt a bit naughty to be doing.

We visited on a buyagift voucher that was gifted to us. I was a little apprehensive as had quite a bit of difficulty getting booked and the establishment advised that buyagift don’t pay them a good amount (not really my issue and they should opt out if not happy) My daughter had paid £50 and we paid another £70 on top for 1 night stay with a 2 course evening meal & breakfast. The accomodation is in chalet type units adjacent to the pub. It was clean and tidy with just a couple of small issues such as a cracked bath panel and plug twist broken so had to take plug out to allow water to drain. We did advise the staff. Also heard a staff member being disciplined about using her phone whilst on duty and maybe they need to be aware guests can hear through open windows. The food was excellent quality and generous portion sizes. I have never seen such a vast continental breakfast selection either is was fantastic. All the staff were polite and friendly. Slight issue on check out where someone else’s food and drink had been added to our room but this was quickly resolved by reception staff. All these things aside I felt 5 stars were valid due to the staff being so nice. All in all a good stay for our 1st Wedding Anniversary.

We stayed for 2 nights while visiting Alton Towers. Every staff member was lovely and welcoming. Rooms were clean and had everything you needed and we loved the individual cabin layout, no worries about people running and up and down hall ways to keep you up! We had both breakfasts and dinner here and everything we had was delicious. Only a 15 minute drive to Alton Towers on a decent enough road. Will definitely be back next time we’re down! 10/10

So Welcoming, Jenny, David and Vasi made our overnight stay really enjoyable. Vasi was so attentive to detail, she made us smile and helped us choose our food which was delicious. We had a lovely evening, chatting in the bar, before retiring to our room. Comfy bed too Thanks for having us ✔️

We had a lovely stay at the Dog and Partridge as our overnight base for an Alton Towers weekend. The staff were warm, friendly and welcoming and worked their socks off, the same smiles t dinner and the bar greeted us early for breakfast. We were super pleased with our chalet as our room, a nice private space that had everything we needed and a super comfy bed. Hot shower with good water pressure and able to park right outside. The continental spread for breakfast was fab - super sweet fruit bowls were my favourite! The play area for kids was great too. We'll definitely use this option again when we return to AT with our other nephew when he's bigger! Thank you for a great stay.

We stayed for 2 nights on the way back from the Lakes to go to Alton Towers. I would describe it more as an old holiday park than an Inn/Country House. We stayed in Chatsworth - 2 adults and two kids. Broken door handle, kids bedside lights not working, missing remote control and non existent Wi-FI which we were told was down to a busy network or our devices. Also told we are the first to mention problems with the WiFi including in Chatsworth which, looking back at previous reviews isn’t accurate. Setting expectations would help especially when travelling with kids who rise early (before our allotted breakfast time-slot which we found out on arrival was a requirement), and paying an expensive room rate. Or even offering a drink on the house. We drove passed a lot of alternative options.

First I would like to say that the staff were welcoming. I had a one night stay with The continental breakfast it had a good selection, however if you wanted anything cooked it was £6 including full English, Or two small pancakes were also £6. The beds were clean but the room had a smell, the hot water was supplied by a small boiler so it run out quickly. It was okay for one night but would not want to stay longer
