The room is quite clean. You can see the mountains and forests in the distance from the window. North Carolina has a high forest coverage rate and the air is fresh. The hotel is located next to the highway. Although it is very close to the city center, you still have to drive and it is not convenient to walk. There are too many roads around, and the service attitude is good, but a little lazy.

Stayed 5 nights, Jan 2024; 2 parents and a teenager; Overall a very nice hotel. Clean attractive lobby and rooms, great breakfast buffet for about $15 made it one of the better brkfst options for the area, great staff. The Montford Rooftop Bar was also a pleasant surprise - casual atmosphere, great small plates, a fantastic view.
But some things we didn't like.
"City View" is no view at all. It is a completely blocked view of the hotel across the street.
Also, we love a downtown AVL hotel because we prefer to walk everywhere. On the west edge of what I consider the "center" city area, definitely within 15 min walk to the entire downtown, which is great. But one night, walking home from dinner (about 8 pm?), a young person asked us for a cigarette (we are not smokers), and then immediately followed us in the dark for a few blocks on the deserted street, until we reached the hotel. It made us very uncomfortable. Not the hotel's fault, but that night we wished we wished we were staying in a busier area, and we were more hesitant to go out after dark for the rest of the trip.
And finally - I hated the in room TV. The remote / TV channel system was painfully difficult to use / clunky.
