Best option in Asmara.
Good bed, good shower, good breakfast, nice swimmingpool area. Good gym. Friendly staff.

I've never encountered a hotel that only accepts cash and doesn't accept credit cards, and even then, they screen the cash, only accepting US dollars issued after 2003. The hotel's internet was practically unusable; I couldn't access anything. When I arrived, I exchanged US dollars for local currency with the hotel, but when I tried to exchange the remaining money back into US dollars, they wouldn't let me. The hotel has a shuttle bus to the airport, but you have to call to book. I couldn't get a reply to my emails because there was no internet. When I arrived, I was charged 200 local currency for a two-kilometer taxi ride, even after sharing a ride and negotiating the price.

Hotel was very grand and well kept. Room also was well kept. I stayed three nights, and on the second night, a roach showed up on my desk, so they did move my room. The breakfast room was roomy and had a decent number of options. Internet didn’t work first and second day but third and fourth days, it worked well.
