Vardis Olive Garden

Magnificent establishment, very well maintained, in an olive grove, with a beautiful view of the mountains. Beautiful swimming pool, excellent breakfast. All the staff are very friendly and above all very professional, a big thank you to them. We've been coming back for several years, and it's not going to stop anytime soon. Very quiet and clean hotel. The employees are all equally nice and professional. Delicious cuisine with fresh products. The room is spacious, neatly cleaned and equipped with a kitchenette with refrigerator. Renting a car is useful because the hotel is about a 15-minute walk from the beach.

What a great discovery for this superb hotel!!! Booked 10 days before our departure by email, very quick exchange, we spent 3 nights on a breakfast basis in mid-August (2 adults and a 12 year old child). Very nice home ! The staff is smiling, helpful and friendly despite the language barrier! The hotel is away from the main road. Super well located in the olive groves and close to everything (45 minutes from Chania airport, 20 minutes from Rethymnon, 5 minutes from Lake Kournas...) It There are plenty of taverns not far away to go eat out. On the other hand, rental car is essential! Ample free parking is available in front of the hotel. There is a large, very pleasant swimming pool with deckchairs and parasol. You can hear the cicadas... Spacious room for the three of us with kitchenette, a simple and basic bathroom, and a terrace with a view of the swimming pool. The only negative point (and a big one!) is the air conditioning which is very noisy (but cold)....impossible to sleep with it...so we managed to sleep by opening the window...(but noise of nature: barking dog, rooster, etc.) and there is no very blackout curtain.... The fridge is also noisy (but you can unplug it at night). There is a terrace for an aperitif or other, a restaurant with a terrace overlooking the swimming pool and also a small store. Breakfast is buffet style, very decent. Mask and plastic gloves are required to help yourself to the buffet in the morning. Honestly a nice surprise for a basic hotel with excellent value for money!!! We appreciated the little attention we received following our wedding anniversary (decorated beds) and the bottle of olive oil offered when checking out their in-house production! We will definitely come back next year to spend a few more days there because the place is truly magnificent, the spacious room, the very pleasant swimming pool area to relax after the day's excursion and above all the staff who take great care of their customers !!! For the anecdote: the hair dryer did not work in the bathroom, I went down to reception to find out if they had one to lend me.....the lady at reception told me said she was going to see.....30 min later she knocked on the door with a hairdryer! It's not much but it's a set of small details which make this place a place where you feel good despite the negative point of the noise of the air conditioning, it's a shame because with good air conditioning the hotel would be perfect!!!!! Besides, we regretted not having spent a day off at the hotel in order to take full advantage of the place (it was just a hotel to sleep in and go on a day trip). Thanks again !

Stayed at Vardis for the second time. The hotel is ideal for a relaxing holiday in a quiet location. Beach, restaurants and shops are within walking distance (approx. 1 km). Studios and two-room apar**ents are clean, bright and functionally furnished. Good breakfast (buffet), restaurant open in the evenings is also recommended. The family a**osphere and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff are particularly noteworthy.

I stayed the last two weeks of July, I chose an apar**ent with breakfast but there is also the hotel formula with lunch and dinner. Spacious, clean apar**ent, large wardrobe and small but functional kitchen with everything you need, there is also a kettle for tea or herbal teas. Every day the room was cleaned to perfection and towels and sheets were changed every two days. Buffet breakfast for all tastes, from savory to sweet, everything fresh daily and made by them. The swimming pool is very clean, large enough with space for the little ones. Surrounded by greenery, well-kept olive trees and flowers. Internal minimarket, having not tried it I don't know the prices. The receptionist is helpful and very kind. Better to know English because they don't know Italian everywhere. Necessary have a car to get around even if the village with restaurants, shops and markets is a 10 minute walk away. The sea is 2 minutes away by car. At the end of our stay they gave us the olive oil they produced as a gift. In short, it is definitely a place to stay in Crete.

A really nice hotel with staff who take great care of its customers. We thank the whole team, especially Daniel, Mélina, Sophia, Nicole, Catherine. The rooms are cleaned every day. Super clean hotel.
