Our room was sufficient but according to the site we had a door to a patio. We had a very small window. Great location and wonderful breakfast. We were able to easily get around to all sights we wanted. Unfortunately, no a/c this early in the season and it was very hot in the room.

Stanza vicino al ripostiglio donne della pulizia e quindi non silenziose sin dal mattino presto, frigo in camera danneggiato nella porta di apertura, letto troppo duro e quindi senso di mal di schiena al mattino, prezzi altissimi perche' spendere quasi 500 euro da sabato 30 marzo pomeriggio a domenica 31 marzo con pernottamento e prima colazione del 1 aprile mi sembra davvero un prezzo esagerato. Personale comunque gentile e accogliente e pranzo e cena che potrebbero essere più normali e meno ******ali nel proporre particolarita'. Grazie comunque Del Pezzo dr Giampiero

L’hotel ha un’ottima vista ed è ben posizionato; la nostra camera adeguata alla tariffa. Sconsiglio vivamente il ristorante in quanto ha dei tempi di attesa che vanno da un minimo di due ore per un pranzo o una cena con menù fisso (non oso immaginare a là carte!); a pranzo il giorno di Pasqua (menù fisso) ci siamo seduti alle 13,30 e alle 15,30 ho abbandonato la tavola (sfinito dall’attesa) ancor prima di ricevere il secondo; ho appreso poi che il pranzo è terminato alle 16,30; nelle due sere precedenti a cena stessi ritmi. Dispiace perché il livello dei piatti è molto elevato ma evidentemente c’è bisogno di una radicale riorganizzazione del servizio cucina (il personale di sala molto professionale). Torneremo all’hotel Giotto senz’altro ma non per pranzare o cenare.

Beautiful charming hotel in a great location. I would return. Room was spacious, well appointed with a lovely terrace with amazing view. Person checking us in at front desk did not display any friendliness, no greeting, etc. He must have been having a bad day as everyone else at hotel was amazing. So first impression was that we were putting him out…luckily it was not repeated with other staff. I would gladly return.

Stayed for one night as part of a tour. Assisi is twinned with Bethlehem and this was Christmas Day. Aside from the nativity story this hotel fitted perfectly when considering the legend of St Francis (eshewing a rich lifestyle in favour of basic simplicity). Our room in an annexe adjoining the main hotel consisted of a bed, an old, broken-down couch and a shower; clean but bare and in-keeping with the spirit of the town and the day we stayed. Any richness was instead reserved for the beautiful and quite stunning panorama from the hotel veranda, such was its prominent hill-side location. Dinner in the hotel is served in a deep underground cavern; service was erratic (our waiter was charming but haphazard) although the food was tasty and plentiful. The walk into town is short and enjoyable and, for those feeling energetic, there is a hill-top installation that can be reached within around 35-40 minutes, albeit requiring stamina.
